Anheuser-Busch has renewed their Here’s to the Heroes Salute for 2012
This very popular offer allows Free One-Day admission to Anheuser-Busch’s theme parks for themselves and up to 3 direct dependents.
The parks included in this offer are
- Sea World Orlando
- Sea World San Antonio
- Sea World San Diego
- Busch Gardens Tampa
- Busch Gardens Virginia
- Sesame Place
- Water Country USA
- Adventure Island
This fantastic offer has been ongoing since 2005 without any break.
Anheuser-Busch Officials confirmed for me today that the Here’s to the Heroes program has indeed been renewed for 2012.
They apologized that their website herosalute.com has not been updated and said to expect it to reflect the renewal within a few days. As I type this the site says the offer ends 31 December 2011.
The Anheuser-Busch Company also wanted to pass on their thanks for all that the military does for our country and they fully support us and enjoy being able to make this offer available!

Thank you. This made my night
My Pleasure!
Are you sure? AB doesn’t own the parks anymore and I’m hearing conflicting info. I will plan a trip if they are still free but pass if it’s not. I’ve been enough times.
Hi Jackie,
You’ve nothing to worry about as far as I know.
It’s true that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment formerly a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch which is owned by The Blackstone Group, now operates the parks. But that management change took place in 2009 and the Here’s to the Heroes Salute has been going non-stop since 2005.
As part of the 2009 deal with Blackstone, Anheuser-Busch signed a sponsorship agreement with the Blackstone, allowing the two Busch Gardens parks to keep their current names and promotions, including the “Here’s to the Heroes” military appreciation program.
Just curious what conflicting info are you hearing?
The websites aren’t updated yet and someone else told me it was ended. I didn’t know AB signed to keep up the promotions, I thought it was just the names. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Got a report on Facebook that a reader used their free tickets yesterday.
A-B is always slow to update the page (last 2 years anyways).
Are retired entitled to this deal also?
I was wondering if Retired Military are eligable for the Military Free Sea World and Busch Gardens promo.
No, unfortunately they are not. Sorry, bummer for me too, I’m retiring very soon.
How much does a regular military (retired) discount ticket cost for one day? Can’t find anything online for this. Thanks
Hi Aurora,
Here are the Shades of Green prices, Base ticket offices prices are very similar.
I used this last year in June 2011. Does eligibility restart with the new year or is it one year from last use? i.e. Can I use it now or do I need to wait until after June 2012?
Hi Angel,
You can use the Here’s to the Heroes program once per calendar year. So you are good to go!
Hi Steve, I see that there are free tickets for Sea World for active military, how about retired and there family. thanks
Hi Christina,
Sorry, that particular offer is only for current military members.
You can still purchase discounted SeaWorld tickets at Shades of Green’s ticket office though.
Are disabled veterans eligible for free SeaWorld tickets?
Richard, unfortunately Anheuser-Busch’s Heres to the Heroes offer is only for current military members. Those who retired or separated are not eligible.
Looking through this “shades of green” website for any discounts, planning on going to Busch Gardens (Williamsburg) this Saturday.
There only seems to be a discount for Busch Gardens Tampa (I wouldn’t even call that a discount, it’s the same price)
What I am asking though, is there a discount for the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va? I am no longer active, so retired. Assistance would be appreciated!
Hi there Nicholas,
Well, Shades of Green is located in Orlando Florida at Walt Disney World, which is why they don’t carry military discount tickets for the Virginia Busch Gardens.
Anheuser-Busch offers the Here’s to the Heroes program for current military members, but retired guys like you and I have to be satisfied with the small discount offered with the military discounted tickets available at Base Ticket Offices.
Go by Langley AFB, NAS Norfolk, Fort Eustis, or any of the other bases in the ares to get your tickets.

Register at herosalute.com and print out your etickets =) I just got ours for Busch Gardens Williamsburg this morning!
I am retired and would like an explaination as to why this program is not open to retirees. It is the only program of its kind that is only open to Active or activated service members. Even Disney honors the service of the retired. I am planning a trip to Orlando, the first vacation for my family since I left active duty, and we would like to take advantage of Disney and we would love to visit Sea World Orlando as well. We went to San Antonio in 2007. Any explaination?
Well Colin,
You’d need to take that up with either Anheuser-Busch or the company they sold their theme parks to.
I too am a retired military member and accept that one of the freedoms we all fought for was for a company to decide who they want to offer a discount to.
Discounted tickets are available through Base ITT Offices or Shades of Green.
Does the required dependent ID need to be a military ID or an ID proving that he or she is a direct dependent? We are taking our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren. Are we understanding it correctly that our daughter could take advantage of the benefit if she has a drivers license with our last name? We don’t want a surprise when we get there, we would rather be prepared.
Hi Leana,
I don’t think that your adult daughter who has children is your dependent in the military sense of the word. I’d think anyone old enough to have an ID would need a military issued ID. THe cut off for active/reserve dependents is 21 unless enrolled in full time college then it’s 26, I’d think the retired would be the same. I think it would be best for you to call the A-B theme park you are interested in to ask.
Do you know if Seaworld is sticklers for spouses ID? I unfortantly will not be able to get one before we leave on Friday.
No JaimeG, what matters is the military member’s ID. You should be fine with your drivers license.
