Two Military Members in a family and Disney’s Military Salute

I was wondering if it was possible for families with two military members to use their Disney Military Salute twice. After all both members are serving their country and should be entitled to this great benefit that Disney is offering. Whether both spouses are military or it’s a parent and child, as in my case. I did a little investigating and found out that this is possible, so your family could go to Disney World twice this year for five days each or go for a fabulous 10-day vacation or a mix of the two, say a 7-day followed later by a 3-day.

You must purchase your Military Salute tickets for family and friends at the same time you pick up your free military member ticket. You can do this at your base’s ITT Office, the Shades of Green ticket office, or Disney World theme park ticket counters.

If you buy your family and friends tickets on base or at shades you’ll need to activate them at the theme park ticket counter prior to first use. All of the tickets must be activated at the same time. The member who purchased the tickets must be there (with proper ID) to activate them as well as the individual the ticket is for. Once activated the member need not be with the family member or friend.

So as long as you stay within the basic guidelines the possibilities seem endless.

  • Five friends and family tickets per Military member
  • All friends and family tickets purchased at once
  • The military member and all friends and family there at the same time to activate
  • Tickets may then be used individually

Keep your receipt. I was told at Shades if you do not use all 5 friends and family tickets, you can use them on a later visit within the year as long as it meets the deadline of December 23, 2009.
