I Salute Disney! I’ve been in contact with a couple people within the company and now have all the details on the 1 October 2011 through 30 September 2012 Disney Armed Forces Salute Ticket Offer.
UPDATE – The offer keeps getting changing. See here for the most up to date details
For those waiting on details about the extended Armed Forces Salute Disney Resort Room Military Discounts you’ll need to wait just a little longer. While Disney has announced that the discounts will be the same (30% on Value Resorts, 35% on Moderate Resorts and Fort Wilderness Cabins, and 40% on Deluxe Resorts Including Disneyland) the blockout dates have not yet been set. Expect these mid June as well as the release of the “fare codes” which will allow your travel agent or Disney reservations to book your room at these rates past 1 October 2011.
So here are the details on the “Extended Offer.”
It’s much like the current offer.
Up to six park tickets may be purchased including a ticket for the military member (only five if the spouse is purchasing with out the member).
There is a maximum purchase of six theme park tickets per family for each offer period. However, Disney states – Exceptions should be made for immediate families larger than five people. For example, if a family has six children, they will allow all members of the family to purchase 4-Day Disney Military Promotion Tickets.
The tickets available are:
At Walt Disney World
- Four-Day Park Hopper Tickets or Four-Day Water Park and More Tickets for $138.00
- Four-Day Park Hopper Tickets plus the Water Park and More Option for $165.00
- These tickets can be purchased at Shades of Green, Your local Base Ticket Office, or Disney Theme Park ticket booths (Tax will be added at Disney ticket booths).
At Disneyland
- Up to six three-Day Park Hopper Tickets for $99.00
- These tickets can be purchased at Your local Base Ticket Office, or Disney Theme Park ticket booths (Tax will be added at Disney ticket booths).
There are 2 separate offer periods, the current one, which ends on 1 October 2011, and the fiscal year 2012 offer which will start right afterwards and runs through 30 September 2012.
Theme park tickets currently being activated have an expiration date of 30 Sept. 2012, members will be eligible to buy 6 more tickets starting 1 October 2011.
Disney has stated to me that “…if a customer buys six tickets now but does not use them prior to the original expiration date (of Sept. 30, 2011) or only uses a few of the six tickets, they may purchase an additional six tickets beginning Oct. 1, 2011 and activate more than the originally dictated six at a single time.”
4-Day Disney Military Promotion Tickets may be upgraded to add the Park Hopper® Option and Water Park Fun and More option. These options may be added any time prior to September 30, 2012. The no-expiration option is not available. Additional days may not be added to this ticket.

Thank you so much for posting this info. My family is going to Disneyland mid October so I have been checking the Disneyland website every day waiting for the offer to be extended. They still don’t have it up even though they announced this over a month ago. So am I reading correctly that if we buy the tickets now, when we activate them they won’t expire until Sep 30 2012?
Hi Jennifer, That’s what has been reported in Fla. that the current tickets being activated expire 30 Sept 2012. And it’s also what Disney Military Sales has told me
I am hoping that you can help me!! I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere!! If I buy the Military tickets for Disneyland and I use them April 1, can I get into the park with tickets on April 2? (April 2 is blackout). Do the discount rates for the rooms work at all three Disneyland resorts? Can any travel agent (AAA) work with Military rates? How would the discount work if my stay starts before a blackout date?
So sorry for all the questions, but I can’t seem to find the answers. Thank you!!
Hi CIndy,
The MIlitary Salute tickets can not be used on blockout dates. So they are not useable from 2-14 April at DL. As far as the room discounts, I’ve still not seen room blockout dates from Disney and I’d expect that there would be blockout dates during that Spring Break timeframe. Barring blockouts the room discounts are available on all the DL hotels based on availability.
Any travel agent can make these reservations, I recommend using one that specializes in Disney vacations such as Ears of Experience. Any room discounts would only apply for the days allowed, regular rates would apply for the others on both rooms and for the tickets.
You can get regularly discounted DL tickets at your base ticket office.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
I’m currently deploy and I’m expected to be back around mid Sep. I would like to take advantage of this years ticket’s as well as next year’s. Can I buy tickets online now and if I buy them will I have to use them before 1 Oct? What I’m asking is if when I buy them do I have to tell them the days I will be using the tickets.
Miguel, These tickets can’t be purchased online. But you’ll have no problem. You do not have to use them by Sept. they all will expire 30 Sept 2012. You also will be able to purchase two sets of up to six for both your trips.
Steve thanks for the prompt reply.
One more question. While reading your UPDATE link I see the following statement “Military members may now purchase the Military Salute Tickets as often as they wish as long as no more than six (6) tickets are sold in each transaction.
How true is that statement? How will it work? DO I buy 6 tickets today, six tomorrow and so on. Or I buy 6 tickets, use them and then I will be able to buy six more.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my posts.
Hey Miguel, It seems Disney is backing up from that statement, it looks like it will be a total of 12 tickets during the whole offer (3 Oct 10-30 Sep 12) but no more than 12 at a time.
Disney military Sales has been forwarding me info and I keep asking questions that they need to think about. I’m waiting on a reply to my last before I post details.
It is so nice that someone keeps up to date to help others with information. I am a bit upset that discounts are not available to those who served their country and received an honorable discharge. Some of those currently eligible for 12 discounted tickets may opt out after two years and that was a career choice of those retired from the military. Veterans who had put their lives on the line should get consideration also. There I have vented, sorry but I remember how the Vietnam vets were not very well honored for their service and they are not being given consideration again along with so many others.
Hi Barbara,
I agree. The only way to try to change this is for Veteran’s groups like the VFW, American Legion, AMVETS, etc. to politic with Disney to have non-retired vets included.
So talk to the State and Federal leadership of whichever organization that you might belong to and ask them to work with Disney on this.
