Is this pricing for AD only or can retirees take advantage of this?
Thanks!
Hi Jen,
They price is for anyone with a military ID. Active, reserve, retired.
Have fun.
Hi! I’m looking to get a MNSSHP ticket for a buddy and I before we run the Tower of Terror Ten miler. So we’ll arrive the 28th and would like to go on the 28th. Can we call and purchase a military ticket in adavce or will we be able to buy a military ticket for the same day? Thank you very much for your help!
Hi Andrew,
You have to purchase the military discount tickets in person, so they can check your ID. You can purchase the regular tickets over the phone ahead. 1-407-WDISNEY.
My dad is retired military and he and my mother are going to Disney about 2 weeks before we are. Can he purchase MNSSHP tickets for us to use when we go? I wasn’t sure if he had to be present with us when we go to the party or if we just need the ticket. Thanks!
As far as I know that will work Melanie.
Thanks Steve!
My family is coming to Shades of Green the last of September. My husband is a veteran and we can only come to Shades of Green in September and January. My question is about tickets to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. Can we purchase the military tickets even if he is not active duty? Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Jan, I don’t think he will be able to. The Salute to Our Veterans Program, which you’ll be using, is from Shades of Green and not Disney. The Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party military discount tickets is from Disney and you have to purchase the tickets at a Disney ticket booth. You can’t get them at Shades. Disney requires a military ID to buy the special party tickets.
I just tried to do this and when I called the operator told me that was something they could not do – that I had to buy these tickets at a local base or shades of green. Please help!!
Hi Jessica,
First, sorry I thought I’d removed the bit about ordering the regular price tickets via phone and getting the discount once there.
I’m working to confirm it is correct or maybe get it instituted. I was in email contact today with the Disney Military Sales Dept. and they said they would get back to me asap.
Hi, my family and I just tried to get military discount tickets to MNSSHP even though tonight’s party is sold out and were told they don’t sell tickets once a party is sold out, even though we are active duty. The supervisor called someone and thy still refused us. I now have two super upset little pirates. Very disappointed!!!
Mandy,
I’m so sorry for your problem with the party! I was assured by Disney Officials that this would indeed be the policy. BUt it sounds like you tried to buy the tickets the same day, is that right?
The military discount tickets are an advance price ticket and need to be purchased the day prior to the event. So for Friday the 28th you need to have purchased your military tickets by midnight the 27th. This info is in the post above.
Again so sorry that you had a problem.
We are a retired military family and went to attend MNSSHP on the 28th. The party was sold out and we were told we could not get tickets. Even though it states on your web site that you could even if the event was sold out. We showed your site and comment to a manager and she still said they never heard of that rule. She then told us that she could sell us full price tickets instead even though she had previously stated there were no tickets to sell! We refused the offer and left. We felt if she had tickets to offer she could have offered them at the military discount. You may want to check your info pertaining to the “sold out” rule. We would hate to have another military family disappointed like we were.
Emily, I’m so sorry that this happened!
The military discount tickets are an advance price ticket and need to be purchased the day prior to the event. So for Friday the 28th you need to have purchased your military tickets by midnight the 27th. This info is in the post above.
So sorry you were disappointed.
Add us to the list of people who were couldn’t make it to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on Friday 9/28/12. There was no way for us to pre-purchase military discounted tickets because they’re only available on Disney property and we wouldn’t arrive at WDW until the day we planned to attend.
Prior to the event I spoke with numerous Disney cast members and Disney call representatives. All of them said that the tickets to the Halloween Party did not have to be purchased in advance in order to quality for the military discount. They could, indeed, be purchased the day-of the event, but like any tickets, they can no longer be sold after the party has sold out. We also discovered that once the party is sold out, there are no exceptions.
So Sorry for your experience Jake,
I was assured by my Disney contact that they would sell the military discounted tickets even if they were sold out.
Still trying to get to the bottom of it.
I sent you an email back about our problems with the military discount.
We are going to be going back during the MVMCP and I don’t want to disappoint my daughter by not buying tickets but I don’t want to get to the gate and spend $200.00 that we didn’t budget for again either.
I really hope that you can find something out and let us all know what we can do because I would like a partial refund because I was allowed to buy the tickets on 9/28 for the sold out party at the gate at day of the party prices.
I don’t see why we were allowed to buy something that was sold out and pay full price then write military on the voucher.I have the receipt in front of me and the managers name who sold them to us.
Thanks again for checking into this.We were told we should have purchased them online … but there was no way to do so.
They need better CM’s to handle things like the military discounts…..
Thanks Dulcie,
I replied to your email. I’ll try my best to work this out next week. It’s so frustrating…
