1 April 2011 – Military Disney Tips is proud to be the first to announce that Shades of Green has hired a new General Manager. We are excited to be able to bring you this exclusive interview.
So, on to the interview with the new Shades of Green GM, Mr. Hulka, formerly Sergeant First Class Hulka.
MDT: Hello Mr. Hulka, and first congratulations. Would you mind talking a little about your background and how that will help you in your new position.
Mr. Hulka: Well, thank you. As you know I was a Drill Instructor in the Army so I have a special place in my heart for my military brethren. I had a long Army career culminating with an operation in Czechoslovakia. After I retired I became a restaurateur, with my large chain of “Hulka Burgers.”
MDT: Great, Sounds like there might be some improvements with the menu in the Garden Gallery restaurant then?
Mr. Hulka: You know it. We’re going to line all the steam tables up real close like and have the cooks plop your food right on your tray for you. Our hostesses will patrol the dining area to keep people moving, no dilly-dallying, eat and move on, no talking. After all We’re at Disney and we got a full day ahead of us. We’re gonna start out with a five-mile run.
MDT: Oh, what about the fitness center?
Mr. Hulka: That’s after the run.
MDT: Won’t that cut into the day?
Mr. Hulka: Shoot no son, reveille is at 0400.
MDT: I see, any other new activities?
Mr. Hulka: Yep, after PT it’s room inspections then an open ranks inspection. Once you are squared away it’s a forced march at double time around Bay Lake to the Magic Kingdom.
MDT: Finally, the theme parks.
Mr Hulka: You know it, enjoy! But no talking in the lines, Eyes Front! And Retreat is at 1700hrs on the Main Street Square.
MDT: Sounds like a full day. Do you have any thing else our readers should know about the new Shades of Green?
Mr. Hulka: Just this. People, welcome to the Shades of Green. I’m Mr. Hulka. I’m your Manager. Before we proceed any further, we gotta get something straight. Your mamas are not here to take care of you now. It’s just you, me, and Mickey Mouse. And before you leave, you’re gonna find out that me and Mickey Mouse are one in the same.
MDT: Well, I’d really like to thank you Sir for this chance to be the first to interview you.
Mr. Hulka: Don’t say “sir” to me, I’m a sergeant, I work for a living.
