5 Top Reasons To Listen To The WDW Today Podcast

WDW Today podcastHands down my favorite Disney PodCast to listen to is WDW Today! I’ve been listening to the WDW Today podcast since sometime in 2006. I always learn something and usually have a good laugh or two.

At my last duty station I used to do a lot of traveling so I’d listen to the podcast on the road. Nowadays while I don’t travel as much for work I’m a 5.5 hour drive to Disney World and 5 hours from my parents. I just had to drive down to Mom & Dads last week to help them with some issues so I listened to quite a few of the podcasts on the way down and back. I always listen to the podcast on my way to Disney too.

My Top 5 Reasons To Listen To WDW Today

1. If you need a Disney pick-me-up it’s an easy Disney fix. Like I mentioned you can listen while driving in your car, maybe on the way to Disney to get you in the mood. You can listen while working out in the gym, or while running or walking. Most episodes are 20-30 minutes which is a good length, not too long, not too short.

Disney Military Discount Information Finally Updated On Official Site

2011/2012 Disney Armed Forces Salute - Military Disney Ticket and Room DiscountOn 18 April 2011 the extension into 2012 of the Disney Armed Forces Salute Military Discount was announced.

Since then Disney has made major changes to the details of the offer at least 3 times. Changes effecting the number of times military members could participate, the number of tickets available during the offer, and how many tickets could be active at once.

Details recently appeared on the Disney World site stating: No more than twelve (12) Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased, activated and/or used by any Eligible Service Member or spouse during the life of this promotion, and no Eligible Service Member or spouse may purchase, activate and/or use more than six (6) Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets during any single week of the promotion.

Disney fails to define what a “week” is though on the page. I’ve emailed Disney to attempt to clarify.

Meanwhile the Disney Military Sales page and the Disneyland site still have the information that was posted in October 2010 stating the offer ends Sept 2011.

While it’s been frustrating that the details have been so hard to discover, it’s great that Disney did extend this great military discount into 2012

My New Column On Disney Dispatch

Hughes of Green - MIlitary character who explores Disney World on the Disney Dispatch - Courtesy of Military Disney Tips Bob McLain the publisher of the Disney Dispatch recently contacted me and asked me if I’d like to contribute to his great site. The Disney Dispatch is a packed full of great Disney content. It’s written by community of Disney insiders and super-fans, there are over 35 different columns. Several of which are published each day.

The columns you’ll find on the site are written by Bob and a collection of other Disney authors, several of the columns are contributed by Disney Company icons. There are columns on every Disney subject you can think of in many categories: news/updates, opinion, history, and even a couple of fictional characters.

When Bob contacted me a month or so ago he asked if I’d write a column from the point of view of a fictional character. This character would be a military man living at or stationed at Shades of Green on Walt Disney World property, this character would explore WDW from the military perspective. I jumped at the chance to try something new and found it fun writing in a way so different from what I do here on my site.
