Laura says
If you get the park hopper plus, is that the same number of days to go into the water parks? And, can they be used any time through the year too? (split up my time throughout the year) ex. 5 days in Parks and 5 days in water parks?
Steve says
Hi Laura
Yes there are the same number and you have till the expiration date in Dec to use all options.

PegP says
I am SO glad I trusted my gut and rescheduled our trip from Halloween of next year to early December this year! Had I trusted that Disney would renew the discount, I’d be paying over $100 more for the tickets for next year, something I can’t afford with their increased prices on everything else. That’s a big jump in cost, and one I can definitely live happily without. We’ll do one more trip to Disney World then move on to someplace new. It’s been a nice run, but the nickel & diming has reached its limit for us. But I feel way more comfortable knowing I did the right thing when I rescheduled. Thank you
Al G says
It is a shame….and yet they can’t keep people away. Maybe some of the magic will return but I don’t know when that will be
Disney Fan! says
Yes, a shame. I wish more people felt like PegP so that when I go with my family there are less people in the park. Disney keeps raising prices and yet like Al G says they can’t keep people away! Imagine the chaos if they actually lowered prices. Then I wouldn’t go because everyday would be like a peak day. Na, I would like it to be a little more expensive and a lot less busy so that my family and I can go on all the rides without having to stand in line for an hour or hours in some cases. I am appreciative of the Military Tickets because that is how we go but I realize it is benefit that is given to us by Disney to recognize the Military but by no ways is a right. They run a business not a charity, even though I am sure Disney is very giving they do have a right to charge more because to us it is the BEST Theme Park in America and someone has to pay for the new Tron ride, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars. You want top notch rides you have to pay and I don’t want to spend 2 hours in line for Slinky dog. So I want to say Thank you DIsney for giving us another year of Military Discount tickets. I know things are more expensive for everybody but you do a great job putting out a world class product that Millions of Families enjoy each year and will be enjoying for years to come.
Brian says
I don’t think it’s wright to wish Walt Disney World should be so expensive that only the very well off can afford to go. WDW used to set the standard and the other parks had to keep their prices down to compete. Mr. Disney came across as someone who was all about the experience and joy he was bringing to families all over the world.
Amber chambers says
When will it be made official?
Steve says
I think any day now Amber.
Tomorrow would be appropriate.
But I’ll get the word out. Unfortunately I’ll be in the air tomorrow morning returning home from WDW.
Talia says
This is great news! Do Military Salute tickets sell out? Is there any benefit to purchasing far ahead of time? Our trip isn’t until next October.
Steve says
They do not sell out Talia. The only benefit of purchasing in advance is to make theme park reservations.
jennifer says
Thank you so much, Steve for getting this information out to everyone right away!! I’m glad they are offering the Genie +, for those that want it!
SBH says
Can Disney+ be added a Shades of Green after ticket purchase? We probably won’t use it for all days, but would like to have it for some days. Thanks!
SBH says
Sorry, thats Genie+.
Steve says
I’m not sure at this point if you can add it onto a military ticket after purchase but will endeavor to find out.
You can purchase it day by day the day of which I consider a better option as you can get it for the days that it makes sense. I’m at WDW now and doing it like that.
Jocelyne R Gallagher says
Great news! What are the benefits of the genie+?
Steve says
Hi Jocelyne,
Here is my announcement post.
I’m on property now and will soon be posting an in depth Genie post.

Stephanie says
What if we need tickets for 6 days?
Steve says
Hi Stephanie,
I have several posts on finding the right ticket. But for longer lengths the Regular Military Discounted Magic Your Way Tickets are usually the right choice.
https://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/military-discount-theme-park-tickets/regular-military-discounted-magic-your-way-tickets/
Di says
Has there been any 2022 offer for Disneyland. I know the 2021 tickets are extended through Dec 2022 but can you purchase an additional six tickets in 2022 if you already used your allotment in 2021?
Steve says
Hi Di,
Disneyland offered a 18 month long offer for 2021 to 2022 with only 6 tickets allowed during the offer period.
John David Whitworth says
Hi Steve … This is great news… I have a few Questions though. I am going to purchase the Salute Park Hopper Plus 2022 tickets for Disney World…BUT have you heard also about the Freedom Tickets for Universal Studios ?
Also. The Park Hopper Plus with 5 day Park Hopper…..say you have used up all your 5 days going to Disney. parks….but on the 6th day you decide to go to Blizzards Beach or play Miniature Golf at Disney Fantasia Gardens (the PLUS portion of Parker Hopper Plus) etc….are you out of luck since you already used up 5 days going to the Parks ?
Steve says
Hi John,
Universal’s Military Sales Rep personally told me it will be mid-note when they announce for 2022.
The park days and Plus visits are totally separate. You have till the ticket expires in Dec to use all 10 entrances.

Jenn says
We usually purchase the salute tickets with water parks and then make several trips a year! Some are a park day and water park for a long weekend. Or we may use 3 park days on a trip and 1 mini golf. Makes a great option for fun, flexible vacations. We love the relaxation a day at the water parks gives along with the mini golf for arrival or departure days.
David G says
I just looked on Shades of green website and did not see anything about the 2022 tickets. Where is that information located?
Steve says
Hi David,
See the new link in this post to see their document.
Jeanelle says
It’s no where on website and when you contact them they say they have no 2022 rare currently.
Steve says
Hi Jeanelle,
It was briefly. Expecting a more formal announcement soon!
Geri says
How do you pre-order? Do we just email or call?
Steve says
Hi Geri,
Check out https://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/disney-military-discounts/buy-military-discounted-disney-tickets-by-phone/
Nikki says
Thanks for the update. This is fantastic news! My family currently holds 5 2021 salute tickets that are unused. We got them from shades of green before delta took over. We cancelled our 2021 sept trip. Do you know if we can extend the 2021 tickets or pay the difference in price of 2021 ticket and the 2022 tickets?
Steve says
Hi Nikki,
No info yet on that. It will probably come later.
Diane Sullivan says
I will need 7 adult tickets, is there a limit on the Salute with genie tickets? Also the twins will be 2 1/2 years old, do they need any kind of ticket? So on Nov 16th I can fax the order and someone will call me to get the credit card info?
Steve says
Hi Diane,
There is a 6 ticket per military member limit on Salute tickets. See: https://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/faq/i-need-more-than-6-disney-armed-forces-salute-tickets-what-can-i-do/
Only 3 and up need Disney tickets.
Shades seems to have pulled the info from their website and is now disavowing knowledge. I think the info got out prematurely…
Liz says
Disney is listing Salute tickets that already include Genie+. Is that the only way to get genie+ or can you buy a non genie+ ticket and choose how many days you want to add genie+ to? Like if you didn’t want genie+ for all five days.
Also, can the memory maker be purchased for multiple trips at the discounted price?
Thank you so much for your help!
Steve says
Hi there Liz,
I actually have a post coming out tomorrow about adding Genie+ to previously purchased tickets.
You can either purchase an upgrade for all days of your ticket, OR as I recommend purchase day by day on the day of via the app for days you want it.
Here is my Genie page and look for the new post tomorrow.
Steve says
Oh and 2 Memory Maker purchases in the 2021 offer and 2 in the 2022 offer.
Amanda says
These prices are per ticket correct? So if I were to purchase the 5 day genie+ park hopper plus option of $454 and need tickets for 3 adults and 1 child age 10 then it’s the $454 x 4?
Also, is there any information you have heard about the dinning plan coming back for 2022? I’ve heard rumors but not sure what to believe.
Thank you!
Steve says
Yes that is correct Amanda.
4 each 5-day Salute Tickets with Park Hopper Plus and Genie+ would be $1816 as opposed to the $2678 gate price ($669.50 each).
Disney keeps saying the DDP will return, they just don’t know when. Just yesterday a Disney agent emphasized this to me. Honestly, I think it depends on all restaurants returning to full staffing and capacity. We’ll need to see the end of Theme Park Reservations at about the same time… It’s all lack of labor.
Did you notice the I don’t recommend the DDP?
