Why Only 6 Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets in 2016?
This is a question that I’ve been asked very often since Disney announced the 2016 version of their popular Disney Armed Forces Salute.
Since the Disney Armed Forces Salute’s started back in January 2009, Disney has always offered 6 Special Salute Tickets per eligible military member for Salute offers that covered periods of 12 months or less.
Note each individual Armed Forces Salute is an separate and totally independent offer from each of the other offers.
Only twice since the Salutes have started has Disney increased the ticket limit to 12 pep member. Both of these instances were when the currently running Salute was extended for longer than 12 months.
- The September 2010 – September 2011 Salute was extended in April 2011 through Sept 2012.
- The September 2014 – October 2015 Salute was extended in June 2015 through December 2015.
This most recent extension is what everyone is thinking about. And I think many were mistakenly thinking that Disney had set a new standard on the amount of tickets they would allow from that point on.
The actual reason for the increase was that Disney wanted to allow anyone who had already used their allotment of tickets to be able to go again during the extension period if they wanted to, instead of having to wait until January 2016 for the next Salute offer.
