Some are convenient because they&#8217;re close to a park entrance. We were excited to try Disney&#8217;s newest restaurant, expecting it to be good based on the early reviews.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed our first visit far more than we expected.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, we&#8217;ve returned again and again. We&#8217;ve enjoyed full meals there, stopped in for appetizers and drinks more times than I can count, picked up breakfast to go, and even made Wailulu our first stop after arriving at Walt Disney World.<\/p>\n<p>Whether we&#8217;re staying at the Polynesian, another Disney resort, or somewhere completely different, Wailulu has become one of those places we intentionally build into almost every trip.<\/p>\n<p>That says far more than any single restaurant review ever could.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our quick verdict:<\/strong> If you&#8217;re looking for a relaxing meal with beautiful Seven Seas Lagoon views, consistently good food, creative tropical cocktails, and one of the best atmospheres at Walt Disney World, Wailulu Bar &amp; Grill is absolutely worth visiting.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_Wailulu_Bar_Grill\"><\/span>What Is Wailulu Bar &amp; Grill?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Disney-Polynesian-Village-Tower-Wailulu.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-40050\" src=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Disney-Polynesian-Village-Tower-Wailulu.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Disney-Polynesian-Village-Tower-Wailulu.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Disney-Polynesian-Village-Tower-Wailulu-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Disney-Polynesian-Village-Tower-Wailulu-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wailulu Bar &amp; Grill is the restaurant at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/walt-disney-world-disney-vacation-club-resorts\/disneys-polynesian-villas-and-bungalows\/\">Disney&#8217;s Island Tower at Disney&#8217;s Polynesian Villas &amp; Bungalows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Located along the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, Wailulu combines indoor dining, an outdoor waterfront dining area, and an inviting open-air bar into one of the most relaxing dining destinations at Walt Disney World.<\/p>\n<p>The menu blends Polynesian-inspired flavors with familiar favorites, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, desserts, specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and several excellent nonalcoholic beverages.<\/p>\n<p>Although Wailulu primarily serves guests staying at the Island Tower and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/walt-disney-world-resorts\/disneys-polynesian-village-resort\/\">Polynesian Village Resort<\/a>, anyone visiting Walt Disney World can dine here with a reservation or enjoy the walk-up bar area, space permitting. The dining room also accepts walk-ups.<\/p>\n<p>After visiting numerous times over the past year and a half, we&#8217;ve found that Wailulu isn&#8217;t simply another Disney restaurant. The path is flat, beautifully landscaped, and takes only a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Even though it&#8217;s technically in a separate building, I wouldn&#8217;t let that discourage you. We&#8217;d happily make that walk every single time.<\/p>\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_to_Wailulu\"><\/span>Getting to Wailulu<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>One of the things I appreciate most about Wailulu is that it&#8217;s easy to incorporate into many different Walt Disney World itineraries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the Monorail:<\/strong> Exit at Disney&#8217;s Polynesian Village Resort and enjoy the short walk to the Island Tower.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From Magic Kingdom:<\/strong> Take the Resort Monorail or boat to the Polynesian and walk to Wailulu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From EPCOT:<\/strong> Take the Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center, transfer to the Resort Monorail, or simply walk from the TTC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the Transportation and Ticket Center:<\/strong> Walking is certainly possible, but Wailulu sits on the opposite side of the Polynesian property, making the trip roughly half a mile. We&#8217;ve learned to reserve our table as soon as our Advance Dining Reservation window opens rather than hoping something will still be available later.<\/p>\n<p>If your schedule is flexible, lunch is often somewhat easier to reserve than dinner. But the biggest reason we return is the location.<\/p>\n<p>Wailulu sits directly beside Seven Seas Lagoon, with beautiful views across the water toward Disney&#8217;s Contemporary Resort and Magic Kingdom. Whether we&#8217;re sharing appetizers, enjoying a full meal, or sitting outside with a drink while boats cross the lagoon, the setting encourages us to slow down almost immediately.<\/p>\n<p>That is something Walt Disney World doesn&#8217;t always make easy.<\/p>\n<p>Many vacations become a continuous cycle of Lightning Lane return times, mobile orders, transportation, park hopping, and trying to fit as much as possible into every day. Wailulu feels different.<\/p>\n<p>The food gives us a reason to visit. Fish sculptures suspended overhead reinforce the theme without becoming overwhelming.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, the dining room feels modern while still fitting naturally with the relaxed Polynesian atmosphere. I would describe it as contemporary Polynesian rather than heavily themed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Wailulu-Dining-Room-Fish.jpg\"><img of the lower tables near the bar.<\/p>\n<p>With a tropical drink in hand and boats quietly crossing Seven Seas Lagoon, it&#8217;s one of the most relaxing places we&#8217;ve found anywhere at Walt advantages of visiting Wailulu as often as we have is that we&#8217;ve been able to try a good portion of the menu rather than basing our opinion on a single meal.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve eaten lunch and dinner here, ordered appetizers to share, stopped in just for dessert, and even picked up breakfast through mobile order while staying in the Island Tower.<\/p>\n<p>Not every Disney restaurant can deliver that kind of consistency over multiple visits.<\/p>\n<p>Wailulu has.<\/p>\n<p>While the menu changes from time to time, there are several items we order repeatedly because they&#8217;re simply I&#8217;ve had it many times during my Air Force flying career in Hawaii, so I was nostalgic.<\/p>\n<p>Now we order it almost every time.<\/p>\n<p>The combination of flavors and textures works
