Villas.<\/p>\n<p>And calling it simply a &#8220;pool&#8221; really undersells it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Stormalong-Bay-at-Disneys-Yacht-and-Beach-Club-Main-Area.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-42551 \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 3-acre complex combines a sand-bottom swimming area, lazy river, sandy beach entry, quiet coves, whirlpool spas, children&#8217;s areas, and a 230-foot waterslide that begins inside a life-size shipwreck on the shore of Crescent Lake.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #eef5fa; border-left: 6px solid #2f6f9f; padding: 16px; margin: 20px 0;\"><strong>STEVE SAYS:<\/strong> I think Stormalong Bay genuinely is the best pool at Walt Disney World. Plenty of Disney resorts have slides and multiple swimming areas, but the sand bottom, quiet coves, lazy river, and overall variety put this one over the top for me. On one of our Beach Club stays, we planned a down day and spent a lot of time here. The pirate ship is outside the fenced Stormalong Bay pool area, on the beach side of the Crescent Lake promenade. To ride, you leave the pool complex, cross the promenade, and enter the ship on the beach. The slide then crosses back over the promenade into Stormalong Bay. The restaurant serves burgers, sandwiches, and its well-known ice cream desserts, and there is also a to-go window for ice cream and beverages if you do not want a full table-service meal.<\/p>\n<p>You also have the broader Yacht &amp; Beach Club dining lineup nearby, but Hurricane Hanna&#8217;s is the natural choice for a dedicated pool day.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Parents_Should_Know_Before_Using_Stormalong_Bay\"><\/span>What Parents Should Know Before Using Stormalong Bay<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Stormalong Bay is fantastic for families, but its size and layout make supervision different from sitting beside one conventional pool.<\/p>\n<p>Children of different ages may want to spend their time in entirely different sections, and younger children using the large waterslide may need an adult to escort them out of the pool enclosure and across the Crescent Lake promenade.<\/p>\n<p>The variety is one of Stormalong Bay&#8217;s greatest strengths. It is also the main reason parents should understand the layout before simply turning everyone loose.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_If_You_Want_a_Quieter_Pool\"><\/span>What If You Want a Quieter Pool?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Stormalong Bay is not your only swimming option when staying at these resorts.<\/p>\n<p>The Yacht &amp; Beach Club complex also has three leisure pools:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tidal Pool at Disney&#8217;s Beach Club Resort<\/li>\n<li>Admiral Pool at Disney&#8217;s Yacht Club Resort<\/li>\n<li>Dunes Cove Pool at Disney&#8217;s Beach Club Villas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each also has a whirlpool spa.<\/p>\n<p>These are better choices when you simply want a quiet swim without the activity and sprawling layout of Stormalong Bay.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Should_You_Plan_a_Resort_Day_for_Stormalong_Bay\"><\/span>Should You Plan a Resort Day for Stormalong Bay?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you are staying at the Yacht Club, Beach Club, or Beach Club Villas and enjoy pools, I think Stormalong Bay deserves more than a quick swim after a park day.<\/p>\n<p>This is one of the Walt Disney World resort amenities that can justify deliberately leaving time open in your vacation schedule.<\/p>\n<p>We did exactly that on one of our Beach Club stays. Rather than treating the resort simply as a place to sleep between park days, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-tips\/should-you-take-a-resort-day-at-disney-world-yes-heres-why\/\">we planned downtime<\/a> and spent a significant part of it at Stormalong Bay.<\/p>\n<p>That is a much better way to experience the complex than trying to squeeze in a short swim after a long park day.<\/p>\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Should_Stormalong_Bay_Influence_Which_Disney_Resort_You_Choose\"><\/span>Should Stormalong Bay Influence Which Disney Resort You Choose?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Stormalong-Bay-at-Disneys-Yacht-and-Beach-Club-Windmill.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-42553 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Stormalong-Bay-at-Disneys-Yacht-and-Beach-Club-Windmill.jpg\" alt=\"Stormalong Bay pool area and windmill at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Stormalong-Bay-at-Disneys-Yacht-and-Beach-Club-Windmill.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Stormalong-Bay-at-Disneys-Yacht-and-Beach-Club-Windmill-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Stormalong-Bay-at-Disneys-Yacht-and-Beach-Club-Windmill-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes\u2014but how much depends on the way you vacation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When we stayed at Beach Club regularly, our primary reason for choosing it was not Stormalong Bay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It was the exceptionally close access to EPCOT.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Being able to walk from Beach Club to EPCOT&#8217;s International Gateway is still, for me, one of the resort&#8217;s biggest advantages.<\/p>\n<p>But Stormalong Bay adds real value on top of that location.<\/p>\n<p>It should matter more if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You deliberately schedule resort or pool time<\/li>\n<li>Your children love swimming and water activities<\/li>\n<li>You want a resort amenity that feels substantially different from a typical hotel pool<\/li>\n<li>You expect to spend enough time at the resort to actually use it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It should matter less if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your vacation is almost entirely park-focused<\/li>\n<li>You leave early and return late most days<\/li>\n<li>Your family rarely uses hotel pools<\/li>\n<li>You are choosing between resorts primarily on price, transportation, or room configuration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I would not pay a large premium for Beach Club or Yacht Club solely because Stormalong Bay exists if the family is unlikely to spend meaningful time there.<\/p>\n<p>But if you are already comparing these resorts with another Deluxe option and your family loves pool time, Stormalong Bay is a legitimate differentiator.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bottom_Line\"><\/span>Bottom Line<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Stormalong Bay combines features you will not find together at any other Walt Disney World resort pool: a sand bottom, sandy beach areas, lazy river, quiet coves, shipwreck waterslide, children&#8217;s areas, whirlpool spas, and plenty of space to spend a substantial part of a resort day.<\/p>\n<p>The waterslide entrance is the one operational drawback I would plan around if you have younger children.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, Stormalong Bay&#8217;s variety is exactly what makes it so good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I consider it the best resort pool at Walt Disney World, and if you are staying at Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Beach Club Villas, it is worth setting aside enough time to actually enjoy it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Stormalong Bay Is More Than a Disney Resort Pool Stormalong Bay is the sprawling pool complex shared by Disney&#8217;s Beach Club Resort, Disney&#8217;s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney&#8217;s Beach Club Villas.
