Perhaps you might even go to a third park for the end of day fireworks show. I\u2019ve hit all 4 WDW parks in one day.<\/p>\n<p>At the Disneyland Resort you might, start your day at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disneyland-theme-parks\/disneyland-park\/\">Disneyland Park<\/a>, then later in the day go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disneyland-theme-parks\/disneys-california-adventure-park\/\">California Adventure<\/a>, and then maybe even go back to Disneyland.<\/p>\n<p>You can go back to a park that you have already attended earlier in the day if you desire as well. This is true of all Disney tickets even those that do not have the Park Hopper option.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/walt-disney-world\/unrestricted-park-hopping-returns-to-walt-disney-world-in-2024\/\">Unrestricted Park Hopping<\/a> Returns to WDW 9 January 2024!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tickets_that_allow_Park_Hopping\"><\/span>Tickets that allow Park Hopping<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In order to Park Hop you need to have a ticket or pass that allows it.<\/p>\n<p>There are quite a few ticket options that allow Park Hopping. For some this is included in their higher price, for others it is available as an add-on.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets<\/li>\n<li>Regular Military Discounted Disney Tickets, with Park Hopping<\/li>\n<li>Most Disney Park Annual Passes<\/li>\n<li>General Public Park Hopper Tickets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets \u2013 All Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets include the Park Hopping option in their price, These highly discounted tickets are usually the best deal for military families.\u00a0The Salute tickets come with the Park Hopper Option, and at WDW the Hopper Plus Option. The Hopper allows Park Hopping, the Plus option allows access to all of the Plus options available at Walt Disney World. These regular tickets come in Base (non-Hopper), Hopper, and at WDW Hopper Plus. The Base is a one park per day ticket, the Hopper allows Park Hopping, the Plus option allows access to all of the Plus options available at Walt Disney World. But this is long gone due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/privacy-and-identity-concerns-for-military-families-at-disney\/\">technology<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Park_Hopping_in_2024\"><\/span>Park Hopping in 2024<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-slate-node=\"element\"><strong>Unrestricted Park Hopping returned to Disney World 9 January 2024. This means that you again have the ability to Park Hop at any time that you desire as you did prior to the 2020 closure. No more waiting until 2 to park hop!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-slate-node=\"element\"><span data-slate-node=\"text\">However, there is a caveat for military tickets due to the theme park reservations. You still have to enter the park were you have a reservation before you can enter another park (park Hop). You do not have to spend any time in the park with the reservation if you don&#8217;t want to. Will parks ever become full and no reservations allowed?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When Disney World reopened at the end of the summer in 2020 after being closed a good chunk of the year, Park Hopping was not allowed. There are several ways to do this, in order of ease they are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disney Transportation<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/transportation\/walt-disney-worlds-minnie-van-service\/\">Disney Minnie Van<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Taxi, Uber, or Lyft<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/walt-disney-worlds-skyliner\/\">Disney Skyliner<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Walking (in one instance)<\/li>\n<li>Disney Water Taxi<\/li>\n<li>A vehicle that you drive (POV or rental)<\/li>\n<li>And the worst option &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/shades-of-green-resort-at-walt-disney-world\/shades-of-green-transportation-options\/\">Shades of Green Transportation<\/a> (only for guests of Shades of Green)\n<ul>\n<li>Take the bus back to Shades and then get another to your destination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A combo of the above (very worst option)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are 6 possible combinations of parks you would travel between (in either direction) when Park Hopping directly from Park to Park. These are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Magic Kingdom &lt;\u2013&gt; Epcot<\/li>\n<li>Magic Kingdom &lt;\u2013&gt; Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios<\/li>\n<li>Magic Kingdom &lt;\u2013&gt; Disney\u2019s Animal Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>Epcot &lt;\u2013&gt; Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios<\/li>\n<li>Epcot &lt;\u2013&gt; Disney\u2019s Animal Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios &lt;\u2013&gt; Disney\u2019s Animal Kingdom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: You might decide to detour elsewhere between parks, for instance to your room for a mid-day break, Disney Springs for a meal, or somewhere else. Transport would then be direct from that location \u00a0and then to the next park by the best means.<\/p>\n<p>Disney buses do not run between Disney Springs and the parks!<\/p>\n<p>Two of the above routes offer the easiest commute they are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Between Epcot and Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios &#8211; via Water Taxi or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/walt-disney-worlds-skyliner\/\">Skyliner<\/a> (you can also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/transportation\/walk-between-disneys-hollywood-studios-and-the-epcot-resort-area\/\">walk<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot &#8211; via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-transportation-overview\/soaring-above-the-magic-the-enchanting-world-of-disneys-monorails\/\">Monorail<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For the other combos:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Magic Kingdom to or from Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom via bus<\/li>\n<li>Epcot to or from\u00a0Animal Kingdom via bus<\/li>\n<li>Hollywood Studios to or from the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom via bus<\/li>\n<li>Animal Kingdom to or from the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or Hollywood Studios via bus<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12958\" src=\"http:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland.jpg\" alt=\"Disney Park Hopping - Disneyland Park\" width=\"1000\" height=\"682\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-600x409.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-768x524.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-540x368.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-800x546.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-440x300.jpg 440w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Military-Discounted-Hotel-Near-Disneyland-400x273.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Disney Transportation &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Hopping between EPCOT and Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios is the easiest! Just hop on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/walt-disney-worlds-skyliner\/\">Skyliner<\/a> or the Water Taxi that run between Hollywood Studios and Epcot\u2019s International Gateway. \u00a0On the Skyliner you must change gondolas at the Caribbean Beach Station. The boats make 3 stops at the Epcot Resort Hotels on the way.<\/p>\n<p>Hopping between the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT is next easiest. You\u2019ll use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-transportation-overview\/soaring-above-the-magic-the-enchanting-world-of-disneys-monorails\/\">monorail system<\/a>. There is a monorail line that runs between EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-transportation-overview\/walt-disney-worlds-transportation-and-ticket-center\/\">Transportation and Ticket Center<\/a> (TTC). You\u2019ll also need to first ride one of the 2 different monorail lines that run between the TTC and the Magic Kingdom. Note it is possible to also use the Disney bus route direct from the Magic Kingdom to EPCOT thereby bypassing the stop at the TTC.<\/p>\n<p>For all other transfers, you\u2019ll use the Disney bus route between the 2 parks.<\/p>\n<h4>Minnie Vans<\/h4>\n<p>In 2017 Disney World began offering a new \u201cuber like\u201d service called Minnie Vans. These are a fleet of polka dotted (they look like Minnie\u2019s dress) SUVs and cargo vans (with the ability to carry scooters). For about 25 dollars they will take you anywhere on property. They can seat up to six guests, and car seats are on board at no additional fee. Several larger vehicles are available and can transport up to 2 wheelchair\/ECV guests.<\/p>\n<p>These are a great totally safe version of Uber and Lyft for those who may not be comfortable with those options. These are driven by Walt Disney World cast members, so totally vetted and safe (though more expensive). The ride experience is far superior to the usually silent or sullen Uber\/Lyft drivers,; cast members are friendly, knowledgable and talkative (if you want)! Plus the music played during the ride is Disney music themed on your destination.<\/p>\n<p>Minnie Vans service all locations on WDW property. The Minnie Vans can be requested via the Lyft app (keep swiping left through ride types) or by calling 407-828-3500.<\/p>\n<p>Minnie Vans operate from 6:30 am to 12:30 am and only operate on property. (there is an airport option)<\/p>\n<h4>Minnie Van Operating Hours<\/h4>\n<p>Minnie Van service operates from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taxi, Uber, or Lyft &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>These options will all of course cost you, but offer a quick transfer between parks. Often they will have shorter wait times than the Disney Bus System and fairly close pick up and drop off locations.<\/p>\n<p>Lyft \u00a0&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\/invite\/MILDIS\"><strong>$5 credit towards you<\/strong>r first ride when you sign up for Lyft using this link<\/a>. Or use this promo code\u00a0MilDis. This is for your first ride only.<\/p>\n<p>The drop off point for these non-Disney ride hire options at the Magic Kingdom is at the TTC. To save time, set up your ride to the Contemporary Resort and do the 5-minute walk to the Magic Kingdom after you arrive.<\/p>\n<p>Disney World has always had a problem at the Magic Kingdom Monorail Hotels with people parking at the hotels to avoid parking fees and going to the Magic Kingdom; those driving their own car will be given the 5th degree about why they are going to any of these 3 hotels. But this shouldn&#8217;t matter at all for ride hires! But snippy Disney Security Guards will still ask you why you are there. Just say to shop and dine, or ask your driver to drop you in the drive prior to the gate (it&#8217;s closer to the Magic Kingdom!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Walking &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>If you are ambitious you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/transportation\/walk-between-disneys-hollywood-studios-and-the-epcot-resort-area\/\">walk between Epcot and Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios<\/a> along the same route the Water Taxis take. It is roughly a total of 1.3 miles walking along the waterway between Hollywood Studios to the Epcot Area Resorts, then the loop around the lagoon on the Boardwalk to Epcot\u2019s International Gateway.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Driving Yourself &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>This involves initially parking a distance from the theme park in the morning, walking or taking the tram to the Park or TTC, then the reverse to get back to your car, traffic during the transfer to the next park and then doing it all over again.<\/p>\n<p>If you do drive to your first park, you might consider leaving your car there and using one of the methods above to park hop. Much easier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shades of Green Transportation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the least palatable option! So much so, that it is not recommended at all!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shades of Green does not operate buses between the parks. You would need to return to Shades of Green and catch the bus to your next destination. (this is OK if you are returning to Shades for a mid-day break)<\/li>\n<li>2 of Shades\u2019 3 bus lines (Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom) have an hour wait between runs!<\/li>\n<li>Magic Kingdom and Epcot Share a line that drops and picks up at the TTC. Those going to Epcot then take the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-transportation-overview\/soaring-above-the-magic-the-enchanting-world-of-disneys-monorails\/\">monorail<\/a>. 20 minutes between runs on this line.<\/li>\n<li>Shades of Green bus stops at the parks have no queue lines as Disney\u2019 s buses do. You may have been waiting for almost an hour, but when that bus pulls up those who have just arrived will swarm the bus front door with everyone else waiting and you might not even get on!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shades of Green guests are welcome to use Disney\u2019s transportation system for free, so do so!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Park_Hop\"><\/span>Why Park Hop?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are 2 reasons to Park Hop.<\/p>\n<p>The first is to avoid crowds as part of your touring strategy. The most popular parks are typically busiest on the weekends, when locals add to the vacationer attendance levels. EPCOT can get very full (and sometimes drunk\/rowdy) Friday\/Saturday afternoons and evenings during the annual Festivals (Food and Wine, Flower and Garden, Arts), so\u00a0it can make sense to get what you want done in the first park, and then hop to another, less busy park.<\/p>\n<p>The second is to have certain experiences (attractions, dining, fireworks, etc.) in different parks on the same day.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Disney_Genie_and_Park_Hopping\"><\/span>Disney Genie and Park Hopping<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Making Disney Genie+ and Individual Paid Attraction Reservations in a park that you do not have a theme park reservation for is technically taking a chance as there is a slight potential that you could not be able to park hop do to your second park of the day due to it being at capacity.<\/p>\n<p>This is a small risk as this only happens at the very busiest times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SEE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-genie-and-genie-service\/\">Disney Genie and Genie+<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Well_thats_about_it_for_our_primer_on_Park_Hopping\"><\/span>Well, that\u2019s about it for our primer on Park Hopping.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Over to You!
