There were a couple of other announcement s that don&#8217;t really matter when planning your vacation, so I won&#8217;t mention those here.<\/p><div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_82_2 \/><\/p>\n<p>Starting with park visits on Jan. 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for <strong>date-based tickets<\/strong>. You heard that right! When getting a ticket, simply select a start date for Jan. 9, 2024 or later, complete the purchase and you will be all set! For reference, date-based tickets are the standard ticket option Disney offers guests. For other admission types, including <strong>non-dated tickets<\/strong>, theme park reservations <em><strong>may<\/strong><\/em> be required to help us continue managing attendance and delivering a great experience for everyone. Guests can check which admission types require park reservations by visiting DisneyWorld.com\/ThemeParkReservations.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Steve_Says\"><\/span>Steve Says:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em>All military discounted tickets, either Disney Armed Forces Salute or Regular Military Discounted Magic Your Way Tickets are Non-date based. You&#8217;ll note in the paragraph above from Disney that they say non-dated tickets\u00a0<strong>may <\/strong>have a theme park reservation. How this plays out is of course unknown at this time. They could start out the year having the military community continue to make reservations and do away with the requirement as they see how things go, or more likely require the military community to make theme park reservations only during the higher to highest attendance periods.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Introducing_%E2%80%98good-to-go_days_for_Annual_Passholders\"><\/span>Introducing \u2018good-to-go days\u2019 for Annual Passholders<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23885\" src=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/EPCOT-Entrance-Tickets.jpg\" alt=\"EPCOT's Ticket Boots and Entrance\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/EPCOT-Entrance-Tickets.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/EPCOT-Entrance-Tickets-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/EPCOT-Entrance-Tickets-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/EPCOT-Entrance-Tickets-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2024, we plan to offer select days on which our Annual Passholders may visit Walt Disney World theme parks without needing a park reservation. Once introduced, we will roll out these \u201cgood-to-go\u201d days on an ongoing basis. Disney dining plans will be coming back as an option for those staying at Disney Resort hotels who purchase a vacation package with Disney World starting with stays beginning Jan. 9, 2024, which will also open for bookings on May 31. Disney knows their guests \u2013 and families in particular \u2013 have missed dining plans, which are pre-paid and offer added convenience and peace of mind. Guests will be able to choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan \u2013 both will be a great value for families with young children with access to many spectacular food and beverage offerings across Walt Disney World.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Steve_Says-3\"><\/span>Steve Says:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em>Wow, we\u00a0haven&#8217;t\u00a0addressed the Disney\u00a0Dining\u00a0Plan (DDP) here at MDT in a long time&#8230; Not since 2019. As a reminder and for those who are new here is a refresher on how the DDP works with military tickets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Disney Dining Plan can only be purchased by guests staying at a Walt Disney World owned\/operated hotel. This does not include guests staying at the non-Disney-owned resorts like Shades of Green.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>You may add any\u00a0paid dining plan that you&#8217;d like to your Armed Forces Salute room only reservation.\u00a0Be aware that adding any dining plan to your room only reservation makes it a package. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-resorts\/disney-room-only-reservation-versus-a-package-whats-the-difference\/\">Packages come with more restrictions<\/a>, including full pre-payment and earlier cancellation rules.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Also, there are no military discounts on dining plans or food! If <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/disney-military-discounts\/disney-parks-call-center-should-you-trust-them-about-military-discounts\/\">you are told<\/a> you are getting \u00a0a military discount on a room &#8211; dining plan package, it is not correct. We want to give guests the opportunity to spend less time planning in the park and more time enjoying their visit with friends and family. The Genie+ system had been a huge negative hanging over Disney&#8217;s parks along with a multitude of other things for a long time.
