casual morning at the resort, enjoyed a late breakfast, and then took the elevator to the top of Gran Destino Tower for an afternoon of sangria, appetizers, stories, and some surprisingly useful instruction.<\/p>\n<p>We had talked about trying Sangria University for years because Tracy really enjoys sangria. When we decided to spend part of our June 2026 trip at Coronado Springs, it finally seemed like the right opportunity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We expected to enjoy it. We didn&#8217;t expect it to become one of the highlights of our entire Coronado Springs stay.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our quick verdict:<\/strong> Sangria University is a fun, laid-back experience and an excellent addition to a non-park day, couples\u2019 trip, or adults-focused Walt Disney World vacation. Guests using Disney transportation arrive near the resort lobby, and complimentary parking is available in the nearby resort lots for guests with a confirmed dining or experience reservation.<\/p>\n<p>Once inside Gran Destino Tower, take the elevator to the top floor. Toledo is easy to find after exiting the elevator.<\/p>\n<p>Because we were staying at Coronado Springs, transportation was not part of our planning. We simply returned to Gran Destino Tower after breakfast and went upstairs.<\/p>\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_We_Planned_It\"><\/span>How We Planned It<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We booked both our Coronado Springs stay and Sangria University approximately three weeks before the trip. The reservation was easy to find and <a href=\"https:\/\/disneyworld.disney.go.com\/dine-res\/dining-event\/sangria-university\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">book online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Because our session began at 1:30 p.m., we initially made a lunch reservation at Rix Sports Bar &amp; Grill. At the last minute, we changed the meal to a late breakfast instead.<\/p>\n<p>That worked extremely well.<\/p>\n<p>We were not rushed in the morning, we had eaten before the class, and the timing left the remainder of the afternoon open. It felt like a genuine resort day instead of another scheduled activity squeezed between park plans.<\/p>\n<div style=\"border: 2px solid #315f89; background-color: #f8f1df; padding: 18px; border-radius: 12px; margin: 24px 0;\">\n<p><strong>How We Planned It<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We chose the 1:30 p.m. session, enjoyed a late breakfast beforehand, and treated Sangria University as the centerpiece of a non-park day.<\/p>\n<p>That gave us a relaxed morning, kept us from drinking on an empty stomach, and left time afterward to enjoy Coronado Springs without rushing to another reservation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Checking_In_for_Sangria_University\"><\/span>Checking In for Sangria University<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Disney asks guests to arrive approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled start. We reached Toledo at about 1:18 p.m. for our 1:30 reservation.<\/p>\n<p>There were only three or four parties ahead of us at the podium. Sangria University was not arranged as one large communal class where guests had to sit with strangers.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy and I received a table for two beside the windows overlooking the rear of Coronado Springs, including Lago Dorado and Three Bridges Bar and Grill.<\/p>\n<p>There appeared to be approximately 35 people in the class, including couples and larger groups. There were about 9 couples and 5 groups of varied size during our session, but the individual tables kept the experience comfortable and personal.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Toledo_Is_Spectacular_During_the_Day\"><\/span>Toledo Is Spectacular During the Day<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I had previously eaten dinner at Toledo several times. Its lighter, crisper flavor was closest to what I discovered I enjoy in a sangria.<\/p>\n<p>That was another surprise: I went into the experience thinking I was not much of a sangria fan. They alternate roles during different Sangria University sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The lead instructor handled most of the presentation using a handheld microphone. She discussed the background of sangria, explained the drinks in front of us, shared personal stories, and added jokes and humorous observations throughout the class.<\/p>\n<p>The assistant circulated around the restaurant, spoke with guests individually, answered questions, and helped with the custom sangrias. Two or three additional servers assisted during the experience.<\/p>\n<p>The class was educational, interactive, and fun, but it was not a party atmosphere. Guests remained at their own tables and did not mingle extensively with other groups.<\/p>\n<p>That balance worked well. We learned quite a few things without feeling like we were attending a formal lecture.<\/p>\n<p>The only minor issue was the sound. The microphone helped, but Toledo is a large room, and the instructor could occasionally be difficult to hear. Nothing felt like an afterthought added merely because alcohol was being served.<\/p>\n<p>We were still glad we had eaten breakfast before the class. There were no refills, but none were needed.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison, ordering individual specialty drinks at a Walt Disney World restaurant or lounge can quickly approach or exceed the entire cost of this class. Sangria University also included the appetizer, instruction, setting, and opportunity to make a custom drink.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sixty dollars for five regular-sized drinks, an appetizer, and the instruction is a steal at Disney.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This was not merely fairly priced. You also avoid having five drinks and then attempting to return to an active park schedule.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mid-Trip_Break_An_Excellent_Option\"><\/span>Mid-Trip Break: An Excellent Option<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Sangria University also works well as the centerpiece of a mid-trip break.<\/p>\n<p>After several busy park days, spending an afternoon seated in an air-conditioned restaurant overlooking Coronado Springs can provide a needed change of pace.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Date_Afternoon_Absolutely\"><\/span>Date Afternoon: Absolutely<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This is an excellent date activity for couples. The atmosphere is polished without being overly formal, and each party receives its own table.<\/p>\n<p>It could also work well for an anniversary trip, honeymoon, adult family trip, friends\u2019 trip, or adults-focused weekend.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Arrival_Day_We_Would_Be_Very_Careful\"><\/span>Arrival Day: We Would Be Very Careful<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I would not schedule Sangria University on an arrival day involving air travel.<\/p>\n<p>The first session begins at 11 a.m., and Disney asks guests to arrive approximately 15 minutes early. Realistically, you should plan to be at Coronado Springs by about 10 a.m. That allows time for transportation delays, finding Gran Destino Tower, parking or unloading, using the restroom, and reaching Toledo without beginning the experience already stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The 1:30 p.m. session provides more flexibility, but airline delays, baggage issues, and ground transportation can still interfere with the reservation. Sangria University runs only twice per day on Saturdays and Sundays, so missing your scheduled session could mean missing the experience entirely.<\/p>\n<p>It could work on an arrival day if you are driving and expect to reach Walt Disney World several hours before the reservation. For guests flying into Orlando, I would schedule it for another day.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Departure_Day_Only_With_a_Late_Pickup\"><\/span>Departure Day: Only With a Late Pickup<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Sangria University can work on a departure day, but only if your transportation schedule leaves plenty of time.<\/p>\n<p>The 11 a.m. session should conclude around 12:30 p.m. Even then, I would not schedule an airport pickup immediately afterward. You need time to leave Toledo, return to your room or luggage storage, collect your belongings, and reach the pickup location.<\/p>\n<p>The 1:30 p.m. session should conclude around 3 p.m. Based on our experience, I would not schedule a resort pickup before approximately 4 p.m. A later pickup would be even more comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>You also need to account for the five full-sized alcoholic drinks. Sangria University is not a good departure-day choice if you will be driving afterward or rushing directly from the class to the airport.<\/p>\n<p>For most guests, a resort day or mid-trip break remains the better fit.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rainy_Day_Good_Experience_Difficult_Last-Minute_Strategy\"><\/span>Rainy Day: Good Experience, Difficult Last-Minute Strategy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Because the class is held indoors, it sounds like a great rainy-day activity.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge is availability. Sangria University requires advance reservations and can fill up ahead of time. It is better to book it as part of your vacation plan than to wait for rain and hope a same-day reservation appears.<\/p>\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_Should_Book_Sangria_University\"><\/span>Who Should Book Sangria University?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Disneys-Sangria-University-the-View.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41983\" src=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Disneys-Sangria-University-the-View.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Disneys-Sangria-University-the-View.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Disneys-Sangria-University-the-View-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Disneys-Sangria-University-the-View-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sangria University is an especially good fit for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Couples<\/li>\n<li>Friends traveling together<\/li>\n<li>Anniversary and honeymoon trips<\/li>\n<li>Adult family groups<\/li>\n<li>Adults-only Walt Disney World trips<\/li>\n<li>Guests planning a non-park resort day<\/li>\n<li>Guests who enjoy wine, cocktails, or food-and-beverage experiences<\/li>\n<li>People interested in trying an activity beyond the theme parks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You do not need to consider yourself a sangria expert. I did not even consider myself much of a sangria fan before the class.<\/p>\n<p>Being slightly interested is enough.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_Might_Want_to_Skip_It\"><\/span>Who Might Want to Skip It?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sangria University will not fit every vacation.<\/p>\n<p>I would skip it if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You do not enjoy wine, cocktails, or tasting experiences.<\/li>\n<li>Your vacation is short and every available day is devoted to the theme parks.<\/li>\n<li>You need to drive shortly after the class.<\/li>\n<li>You are looking for a high-energy party rather than a seated educational experience.<\/li>\n<li>You would be attending alone and are uncomfortable spending the class at a table by yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Solo travelers are welcome, but this is one experience I think is more enjoyable when shared with a spouse, family member, or friend.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_Children_Attend_Sangria_University\"><\/span>Can Children Attend Sangria University?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>No children attended our particular session, but our instructor explained that younger guests do sometimes participate.<\/p>\n<p>Disney provides nonalcoholic beverages for guests under 21. They must attend with a guest who is at least 21, and the full experience price still applies.<\/p>\n<p>That could work for an older teenager who is interested in food and beverage experiences, but this would not be my first recommendation for most children. The class is primarily designed around sangria, wine, and creating an alcoholic drink.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_We_Would_Do_It_Again\"><\/span>How We Would Do It Again<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We would book the 1:30 p.m. session again.<\/p>\n<p>We would have a leisurely breakfast or early lunch beforehand, attend Sangria University, and leave the rest of the afternoon unscheduled.<\/p>\n<p>We would also pair it with a visit to Three Bridges Bar and Grill.<\/p>\n<p>Three Bridges sits in the middle of Lago Dorado and is one of the best places at Coronado Springs to continue enjoying the resort atmosphere. The tours provide behind-the-scenes access and Disney history. A fireworks cruise creates a private special occasion. The safari offers a unique animal experience.<\/p>\n<p>Sangria University offers a relaxing, social, food-and-beverage experience.<\/p>\n<p>What they have in common is that Disney\u2019s separately priced experiences tend to be well organized, memorable, and professionally presented. Sangria University continued that pattern.<\/p>\n<div style=\"border: 2px solid #315f89; background-color: #f8f1df; padding: 18px; border-radius: 12px; margin: 24px 0;\">\n<p><strong>Steve Says<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The best reason to attend Sangria University is that it is a fun, laid-back experience that is perfect for a non-park day.<\/p>\n<p>For anyone who is even slightly interested, I would say do it. You will not be sorry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_Sangria_University_Difficult_to_Book\"><\/span>Is Sangria University Difficult to Book?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We booked about three weeks in advance and had no trouble getting reservations. However, Sangria University only runs on Saturdays and Sundays with two sessions each day, so availability is naturally limited compared to many Disney dining reservations. It was the opportunity to slow down, sit beside the windows at Toledo, enjoy the resort views, learn something new, laugh together, and create a shared vacation memory without entering a theme park.<\/p>\n<p>The experience was professionally presented, relaxed, educational, and much more fun than we anticipated. The five full-sized sangrias, appetizer, custom drink, instruction, and setting also made the $59 price we paid feel like an exceptional value by Walt Disney World standards.<\/p>\n<p>Sangria University is not something I would squeeze into an already crowded park day.
