a limited number of rooms will be converted to dog-friendly accommodations.<\/p>\n<p>Guests staying in one of these rooms may bring a maximum of <strong>two dogs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One particularly important rule is that the dogs count toward the room&#8217;s total occupancy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For example, a room that normally accommodates five occupants could be used by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Four people and one dog<\/li>\n<li>Three people and two dogs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That could matter for larger military families that normally rely on Shades of Green&#8217;s generous leash whenever they are outside the guest room.<\/p>\n<p>Shades of Green specifically says dogs will not be allowed at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pools<\/li>\n<li>Splash pad<\/li>\n<li>Spa<\/li>\n<li>Restaurants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Guests are also responsible for any damage caused by their dogs.<\/p>\n<p>This is a pet-dog policy. Service animals are handled separately and should not be confused with the new dog-friendly room program.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"My_Main_Question_Is_How_the_Rooms_Will_Be_Cleaned_Between_Guests\"><\/span>My Main Question Is How the Rooms Will Be Cleaned Between Guests<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The part of the new program I will be watching most closely is how Shades of Green handles these rooms between stays.<\/p>\n<p>Pets introduce a different cleaning requirement than ordinary hotel-room turnover, particularly for guests with dog allergies.<\/p>\n<p>Shades of Green says these will be designated dog-friendly rooms, which should help keep the pet inventory separated from the rest of the resort.<\/p>\n<p>But the details of that separation and the cleaning process will matter.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #eef5fa; border-left: 6px solid #2f6f9f; padding: 16px; margin: 20px 0;\"><strong>STEVE SAYS:<\/strong> My biggest concern isn&#8217;t having dogs at Shades of Green. It&#8217;s what happens between the dog guest and the next guest. Shades of Green already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarydisneytips.com\/blog\/shades-of-green\/shades-of-green-resorts-standard-guest-rooms\/\">does not mop the guest-room floors<\/a> between every stay, so I would want to know what additional cleaning is being done in these designated rooms, particularly for guests with allergies. Keeping the dog-friendly rooms clearly separated from the regular room inventory will also be important.<\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" inventory.<\/p>\n<p>However, the announcement does not explain <strong>whether those rooms will be used solely for guests with dogs<\/strong>, concentrated in a particular section of the resort, or scattered among regular rooms.<\/p>\n<p>That is worth knowing for two groups of guests:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guests with allergies or other reasons for avoiding rooms previously occupied by pets<\/li>\n<li>Guests traveling with dogs who want to understand where they may be staying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I would like to see Shades of Green make the room-location and cleaning procedures clear of Green<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Until now, Shades of Green&#8217;s normal policy has prohibited pets other than service animals.<\/p>\n<p>The new dog-friendly rooms therefore represent a meaningful change in how the resort operates.<\/p>\n<p>For military families who travel with dogs, it eliminates a major obstacle to staying at Shades of Green.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of finding a kennel, arranging pet care at home, or choosing another Orlando hotel that accepts dogs, eligible guests will now have an option directly at Shades of Green.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, restricting dogs from pools, the splash pad, spa, and restaurants should reduce the impact on guests who are not traveling with pets.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Should_You_Book_a_Dog-Friendly_Room\"><\/span>Should You Book a Dog-Friendly Room?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If bringing your dog is what makes a Shades of Green vacation possible, this new option could be extremely useful.<\/p>\n<p>Just remember that the reservation works differently from a regular Shades of Green booking.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reserve a designated dog-friendly room in advance<\/li>\n<li>Call the Vacation Planning Center at <strong>888-593-2242, <\/strong>rather than book online<\/li>\n<li>Include each dog when calculating room occupancy<\/li>\n<li>Keep your dog leashed outside the room<\/li>\n<li>Keep dogs out of restricted resort areas<\/li>\n<li>Accept responsibility for any damage caused by your dog<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And because the participating room inventory is limited, I would not assume a dog-friendly room will be available just because a normal Shades of Green room is available for your class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The announcement gives us the basic rules for the new dog-friendly room program, but there are still several practical questions I would like Shades of Green to clarify:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How many dog-friendly rooms will be available?<\/li>\n<li>Will Poolside Rooms be included?<\/li>\n<li>Will any of the suites be dog-friendly?<\/li>\n<li>Will these rooms be used exclusively for guests traveling with dogs, or could a guest without a dog later be assigned one?<\/li>\n<li>Will the dog-friendly rooms be grouped in one part of the resort or scattered throughout both wings?<\/li>\n<li>What additional cleaning will be performed after a dog stays in the room, particularly for guests with allergies?<\/li>\n<li>Will Shades of Green provide designated dog-relief areas, or will dogs be allowed to use appropriate grassy areas throughout the property?<\/li>\n<li>Can dogs be left unattended in the room, and if so, will they need to be crated?<\/li>\n<li>How will housekeeping service work when a dog is in the room?<\/li>\n<li>Will there be any breed, size, vaccination, or other health requirements?<\/li>\n<li>How will excessive barking or other noise complaints be handled?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shades of Green says a pet waiver is still coming, so some of these details may be addressed before the program begins November 1.
