Disney Spring’s High Tech Parking Garages at Walt Disney World

Disney Springs has two new, very High Tech parking lots.

Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) was in a state of flux for what seemed like years. A huge renovation and expansion was underway for a very long time which the recent name change to Disney Springs is part of. Thankfully all of the construction has been completed

Many new restaurants and shops have opened over the course of 2015 to 2019 (a few with new military discounts).

These new parking structures have also opened, offering 4 to 5 times the parking spaces in the same footprint as the original parking lot.

First, the Orange Garage opened located by the West Side, followed by the Lime Garage by the Landing and now the Grapefruit Garage across the street from the Lime.

The Disney Springs parking garages are new, clean, safe, and a pleasure to park in! 

As you enter either of the garages, electronic signs will advise you exactly how many open parking spaces are available on each of the 5 levels.

Of course the more spaces that are open, the better your chances of getting a spot close to the elevator and escalators.

Once you’ve selected a level, you will see electronic signs over the entrance to each row. These signs advise you exactly how many parking spots are open in that row.

As you look down each row you will also see a line of detector/light combos hanging down over the rear of each parking spot.

These will light up with a green indicator if the spot is empty. This is so cool as you can see before you enter a row both how many spots are open and where they are.

Note: very small cars (Smart Cars, etc.) and motorcycles will not turn off the “Spot Open Light.” I’ve been fooled…

When leaving your car, be sure to remember your level and row number! I take a pic with my phone, just like I do in the theme park parking lots.

The garages have attendants, are patrolled, and have emergency alarm stations throughout.

From the Orange Parking Garage you will enter Disney Springs in the West Side area near the bridge to The Landing. This is the area near Planet Hollywood, AMC Dine In Theatre and the Coke-Cola Store

From the Lime Garage you will enter the Town Center area.

Garage Info

Designated parking spaces for Guests with disabilities are available in both the Orange and Lime Garages. A valid disability parking permit is required. Wheelchair, ECV and stroller rentals are available at the nearby Sundries location next to the Town Center bus loop.

Parking is Free unless you upgrade.

Other and Upgraded Parking Options

Disney Springs also offers other parking options.

Old Style Lots

Disney Springs retained some of their old ground level lots. They have carried on the fruit names for these. From west (West Side) to east (Marketplace) they are: Strawberry, Watermelon, Grapefruit, Mango, and Lemon.

New Style Parking Garages

There are now 3 parking Garages, the Orange Garage, Disney Bus Station, and Lime Garage are between the Mango and Lemon Lots. The newest garage, the Grapefruit is located across Buena Vista Drive from the Lime Garage with a walkway over the street

Preferred Parking

Preferred parking is available for $10 in the Lemon and Mango parking lots. A Cast Member will be present to accept payment.

Valet parking is available in the following 3 areas:

Near the entrance to the Orange Garage from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM
On West Side in front of Cirque du Soleil from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM
In the Lemon Lot near the World of Disney shop from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM
The cost of valet parking is $20 and will be collected at the time of pick-up. Gratuity is not included.

An Awesome Addition

Though it has been a long time coming, with lots of frustrations caused by limited parking (in the interim) and lots of road construction, the addition of these new parking garages at Disney Springs is fantastic.

Note if you park on levels 1 to 4 your car will be in the shade!!! Level 5 you’ll be in the rain if it’s raining.
