Shades of Green, Disney World’s Military Only Resort recently re-modeled their Magnolia Wing rooms. Let’s take a look Inside one.
You’ll find brand new furnishings all throughout the guest room area. The colors are of course green, but nicely subdued creating a very relaxed atmosphere.
Sleeping Area

Gone are the two half wall room dividers between the bed and sitting area. A plus which allows for slightly better furniture arrangement.
Fifth Guest Sleeper Sofa
The old orange fold down couch has bee replaced by one that fits the decor much better.
The couch operates just the same as the old ones.
The back pulls down and forward while the seat cushions slip down and back.
You then have a smallish single bed with a raised lip at the head and foot.
I’mm 6’2″ and if I lay on the bed and put the top of my head against one lip my heals will be touching the other.
Nice new dresser with fridge.
The hall closet has the keypad safe, iron and board, and extra linens.
Bathroom
No real changes to the bathrooms in this remodel.
The sink area is separated from the toilet and tub/shower room.
Zero changes in the shower room. Same ancient air vent/filter and 48 year old tub.
Look at the great view outside of my second floor standard room.
My Thoughts
This renovation to the older of the two wings at Shades of Green was needed and they did a fantastic job!
These rooms are now comparable in look, feel, and furnishings to the newer Palm Wing, which had a remodel a 4 years ago.

Do all of the rooms at Shades of Green have double sinks in the bathroom? I have seen some pictures of rooms with a single sink online.
Hi Joe,
Over the years since the remodels I’ve found a mix.
You can make that request on your reservation if you call vs online.
