Current Shades of Green Discounts, Specials, and Packages

Shades of Green regularly offers special room discounts and packages for selected dates throughout the year.

These offers are different from the resort’s regular military room rates. Shades of Green sets its regular rates by military pay grade or status and fiscal year, while these specials reduce those rates for specific travel periods.

The important thing to understand is that Shades of Green specials can change after they are announced.

Dates can be shortened, discounts can be reduced, and an offer can disappear as rooms fill.

That is why I intentionally leave the old dates and percentages crossed out when Shades changes an offer. Those previous versions are not stale information—they show you how much these discounts can change over time.

If a current offer works for your trip, I would not assume that the same dates or savings will still be available later.

How Shades of Green Discounts Work Today

Shades of Green’s current specials are seasonal, inventory-driven offers designed to fill Standard Rooms during selected periods.

Depending on the offer, Shades may discount:

• The Standard Room only
• The Standard Room and the Garden Gallery Breakfast Package

Shades sometimes offers room-only and room-plus-breakfast specials covering the same dates. That gives you a choice based on whether the breakfast package makes sense for your family.

The percentage also varies. Current 2027 offers include both 15% and 25% discounts. I have seen discounts start as high as 35% (and then be reduced) within the last year.

These specials are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to room availability.

Why Do Shades of Green Discount Dates Keep Changing?

Shades of Green has changed its specials after announcing them for many years.

I have seen offers begin with a large block of dates and then shrink as rooms fill. In some cases, Shades has also reduced the percentage of the discount.

They do not necessarily announce every adjustment.

That creates an unusual situation for anyone trying to maintain a current list: an offer that was correct yesterday can have different dates today.

This is why I preserve the changes below.

When you see a crossed-out date or percentage, that was a previously published version of the same offer.

Shades of Green is always the final authority on what discounts are currently available.

If Shades tells you an offer is no longer available for your dates, then it is no longer available even if I have not yet discovered their latest change.

The following are the current published offers.

New Year Retreat — 2027

Current discount: 15% off Standard Room rates and 15% off the Breakfast Package

Current dates: January 18–24 and 30–31, 2027

Previous published versions:

15% off Room and Breakfast — January 2–6 and 10–14, 2027

15% off Room and Breakfast — January 2–6 and 11–31, 2027

15% off Room and Breakfast — January 11–31, 2027

15% off Room and Breakfast — January 18–24, 2027

This is a good example of why I preserve the old dates. The January offer began much more broadly and has narrowed several times.

Sweet Escape — 2027

Current discount: 15% off Standard Room rates and 15% off the Breakfast Package

Current dates: February 1–10, 2027

Previous published versions:

15% off Room and Breakfast — February 1–19 and 26–28, 2027

15% off Room and Breakfast — February 1–19, 2027

This offer has also narrowed substantially since it was first published.

Springtime Retreat — 2027

Current discount: 25% off Standard Room rates and 25% off the Breakfast Package

Current dates: April 1–4 and 10–30, 2027

This is one of the stronger current Shades of Green offers because both the room and breakfast package receive the 25% discount.

Stars, Stripes & Sunshine — 2027

Current discount: 25% off Standard Room rates

Current dates: July 5–31, 2027

Previous published version:

25% off Room Only — July 4–31, 2027

This is the room-only option for the July dates.

Star Spangled Vacation — 2027

Current discount: 25% off Standard Room rates and 25% off the Breakfast Package

Current dates: July 5–31, 2027

Previous published version:

25% off Room and Breakfast — July 4–31, 2027

This offer covers the same dates as Stars, Stripes & Sunshine but also discounts the breakfast package.

Savor Summer — 2027

Current discount: 25% off Standard Room rates

Current dates: August 1–31, 2027

This is the room-only August offer.

Last Hurrah — 2027

Current discount: 25% off Standard Room rates and 25% off the Breakfast Package

Current dates: August 1–31, 2027

This covers the same August dates as Savor Summer but adds the discounted breakfast package.

Which Shades of Green Offer Should You Choose?

When Shades offers both a room-only special and a room-plus-breakfast package for the same dates, the package is not automatically the better deal.

The better choice depends on whether your family would actually use the breakfast package.

If you normally eat breakfast at Garden Gallery and everyone in your room will use the package, the room-and-breakfast offer can make sense.

If you would rather eat elsewhere, have a quick breakfast in the room, or do not expect everyone to use Garden Gallery regularly, the room-only discount may be the better fit.

Do not think of the breakfast as “free.” You are still paying for the breakfast package; the special simply discounts it along with the room.

How Much Do Shades of Green Discounts Save?

Shades of Green specials currently apply to Standard Rooms.

Beginning October 1, 2026, the FY27 regular Standard Room rates are:

At 25% off, a seven-night Standard Room stay saves:

• Category 1 — $330.75
• Category 2 — $432.25
• Category 3 — $467.25

That is before considering any additional savings from a discounted breakfast package.

How the Breakfast Packages Work

Some Shades of Green specials discount both your Standard Room and the Garden Gallery Breakfast Package.

The breakfast discount follows the percentage specified by the individual offer.

Current packages include:

• 15% off the room and 15% off breakfast
• 25% off the room and 25% off breakfast

The Breakfast Package applies to all registered guests in the room and is a use-it-or-lose-it program.

That is why I would compare the package against how your family actually plans to eat rather than choosing it simply because breakfast is discounted.

How to Book a Shades of Green Special

Always check the booking instructions for the specific offer you want.

Many Shades of Green specials require you to call the Reservations Office:

However, Shades has also offered specials that could be booked online using a promotional code.

Because the method can vary from one offer to another, do not assume that the booking instructions from a previous special still apply.

If you call, specifically ask about the current special for your dates rather than assuming it will automatically be applied.

If only part of your stay falls within eligible special-offer dates, ask Shades whether the discount can be applied to the qualifying nights. To do this, often two separate reservations are required (along with two deposits).

And remember: Shades of Green can change or narrow these offers after they are announced, so a date that qualifies today may not remain part of the offer later.

Veterans: January and September Shades of Green Access

Shades of Green’s Salute to Our Veterans program is different from the seasonal room discounts listed above.

It is an eligibility program.

Honorably discharged veterans who do not otherwise qualify to stay at Shades of Green can make reservations during January and September.

Reservations are subject to availability, and qualifying veterans use the Category 3 room rate.

A DD Form 214 showing an honorable discharge is required.

Disabled Veterans and the Equal Access Act

Some veterans qualify to use Shades of Green year-round under expanded Armed Forces Recreation Center eligibility rules.

This includes eligible:

• Purple Heart recipients
• Former prisoners of war
• Veterans with VA-documented service-connected disabilities
• Primary Family Caregivers who meet the program requirements

This is an eligibility benefit, not a Shades of Green seasonal discount.

The Bottom Line on Shades of Green Specials

Shades of Green specials can offer meaningful savings on room rates that are already structured very differently from Disney Resort pricing.

But these discounts are not static.

The percentage can change. The dates can narrow. Discounted inventory can fill.

That is exactly why I leave the previous dates crossed out on this page.

If you see a Shades of Green offer that works for your trip and the room you want is available, booking sooner is usually safer than waiting to see whether an even better version appears later.

You can keep checking this page as your trip approaches. I update the current offers whenever I find that Shades of Green has changed them.
