Beach Club Villas – 1 Bedroom Suite, Living Room
The Disney Armed Forces Salute offers Disney resort rooms at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland at a great discount.
Qualified individuals (see above) may book up to a maximum of 3 rooms at Walt Disney World Resort and 2 rooms with up to 5 people in each at the Disneyland Resort at any time during the period of the Disney Armed Forces Salute. All rooms must be in the same resort and check in on the same day. The member or spouse must occupy one of the rooms.
This discount may be used as many times as you’d like during the offer period and may be used at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. There are Blockout dates during which Disney does not offer these discounts. These are “peak attendance” dates.
Please note, the discount amount, number of rooms, and room types at these rates are limited so you might have to be flexible (dates, resort, room type) in order to get the discount.

Are you eligible for the Disney Armed Forces Salute?
Here is the list of who is eligible for this discount, as set by the DoD and Disney:
Current US Military Members:
- Active Military (US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Air Force, US Space Force)
- Reserve Military (US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Air Force, US Space Force)
- National Guard
- US Coast Guard
- Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS)
- Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
Retired Members of the US Military:
- Active (US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Air Force, US Space Force)
- Reserve (US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Air Force, US Space Force)
- National Guard
- US Coast Guard
- Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS)
- Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
100% Service Connected Disabled.
Medal of Honor Recipients.
Spouses in place of the military member (not Civil Service or Contractor). Relationship Field must say SP or Spouse or DEC-DB. Note: The Disney Armed Forces Salute benefit is for the member only. While spouses may use their member’s benefit, they are not entitled to a benefit of their own. They only use the discounts in place of the member. Divorced spouses are not eligible even if they have MWR privileges. Non-spouse dependents (children) are not eligible.
Un-remarried Widows are entitled to their departed military spouse’s discounts (not Civil Service or Contractor). Relationship Field must say DEC-SP.
Foreign partners/Coalition partners stationed at a US base are eligible. They must have a permanent US Military issued ID (CAC card with blue stripe).

From what I understand after reading your, much appreciated, discount breakdown- my husband with service connected disabilities (90% not 100%) would qualify for magic your way tickets with a military discount, correct? Would that status also qualify for a room only discount?

Unfortunately not, a valid retired or 100% DAVPRM ID is required for that discount.
You would be eligible for stays at Shades of Green though.
I just called to price a military-discounted room for the moderate resorts. The only one having a military discount was Coronado Springs. The standard room with two queen size bed came with a whopping 20% discount. The discount offered to the general public for this room at this resort during my time frame is better.

Sadly, that seems to be the state of Disney Military Discounts these days. My TA Jen and I were just talking about this yesterday while walking around Universal Orlando. Room discounts can be hard to find here due to capacity, but Universal tends to work with you anyway…
I had planned a trip to Universal instead of Disney, but opted out of that because the military-discounted rooms were actually more expensive than the Savvy Traveler rate given to everyone.
There were no discounts at all for Sapphire Falls, Royal Pacific or Hard Rock. Portofino Bay only offered it on a two-bedroom suite. So I changed plans and went back to Disney.
They only had Coronado Springs, Gran Destino Towers, and All Star Sports for their moderate and value resorts. The moderate was at a 20% discount and the value was at a 15% discount. I didn’t price the deluxe, figuring there was no point after the other two categories came in so low (though there was availability at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness)
Like Universal, I’ll get a better deal on the specials they offer to the general public. But at least Disney has four parks instead of only two, which is why we decided to go there if the hotel discounts weren’t that great at either theme park.

It seems to be a frustrating time all around for military discounts.
Although my experience has always been there is no charge for one of your travel agents but if I stay at Shades of Green and use one of your travel agents there is a charge for the travel agent? Is this correct, and if so what is the charge.
