Walt Disney World has announced that the Minnie Vans private vehicle service is returning 29 June 2022!
Minnie Van service stopped when Walt Disney World shut down in March 2020 and has not yet returned.
In the early months after March 2020 Disney World said through official channels that the Minnie Van Service would be back. And then around the time that they announced the cancellation of Disney’s Magical Express, they again said that the popular service would be back, but that they did not want to do it too close to the demise of the Magical Express to avoid the impression that they were canceling the free service to make more on the expensive paid service (Minnie Vans can be hired from the airport to WDW for $150).
Many other Disney Fan outlets have proclaimed that all the cars were sold and the service would never come back. But I did not believe that. In fact, just last month I spotted 4 Minnie Vans at the Disney World Car Care Center, most likely there for service.
Disney Confirms the Comeback
UPDATE 7 June 2022: Disney just announced that service will restart on 29 June 2022!
Yesterday Disney announced on their Tik Toc account, of all places, that this popular service was coming back in Summer 2022! Which, due to the limited time Tik Tok videos are live is no longer available (Smart move Disney!).
For those not familiar with Minnie Vans, 2017 Disney World began offering a new “uber like” service called Minnie Vans. These were a fleet of polka dotted (they look like Minnie’s dress) SUVs and cargo vans (with the ability to carry scooters). For about 25 dollars they would take you anywhere on property. They can seat up to six guests, and car seats are on board at no additional fee. Several larger vehicles are available and can transport up to 2 wheelchair/ECV guests.
Minnie Vans serve all locations on WDW property. The Minnie Vans can be requested via the Lyft app (keep swiping left through ride types) or by calling 407-828-3500.
Minnie Vans also provided rides to and from the Orlando International Airport and Port Canaveral.
These are a great totally safe version of Uber and Lyft for those who may not be comfortable with those options. These are driven by Walt Disney World cast members, so totally vetted and safe (though more expensive). The ride experience is far superior to the usually silent or sullen Uber/Lyft drivers,; cast members are friendly, knowledgable and talkative (if you want)! Plus the music played during the ride is Disney music themed on your destination.
Minnie Van Operating Hours
Minnie Van service operates from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily.

My Favorite
Prior to 2020, I used Minnie Vans extensively, and I’m excited to see them coming back!
They are perfect for certain scenarios:
- When you need to get to a dining reservation, especially the early morning ones in the parks
- Resort to Resort trips for dining
- Getting to Disney Springs from a Theme Park
- Split stays (Disney transpo does not go Resort to Resort)
- For close theme park and Disney Springs drop offs and pickups
- At the end of the day when you just don’t want to deal with another line and bus ride
