Within Disney’s Hollywood Studios lies a hidden gem, the often-overlooked Muppet*Vision 3D.

While this attraction is often used as a mid-day break from the summer heat, or the show to see when there are no other Lightning Lanes, we’re here to tell you about the treasure that it is!
Show
Muppet*Vision 3D is a comedic show featuring Kermit the Frog and his attempt to show the audience around backstage of a Muppet show. Throughout the adventure anything and everything goes wrong. This 17 minute show is not only a welcome break from that heat that never has a wait, but it is also adorable and funny for all ages.
Muppet easter eggs begin from the moment that you enter the queue to this show. Upon entering the attraction, guests are greeted by familiar faces such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Gonzo, who star in a hilarious pre-show that sets the stage for the main event.

Pre Show Area
The theater itself is a marvel of Disney’s commitment to immersive entertainment. What initially looks like a gorgeous opera house from the 1920s, is actually an elaborate set that is as much a part of the show as the 3D screen is. As the show unfolds, expect to be surprised by a series of comedic misadventures and unexpected surprises.
PRO-TIP: Be on the lookout for Statler and Waldorf. They will forever be the funniest Muppets.
History of Muppets in Walt Disney World
A lot of people wonder about the Muppets in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Miss Piggy is not exactly a Disney princess, and the whole little corner area feels very random. But did you know that Muppets in Walt Disney World goes all the way back to when it was MGM Studios.
Jim Henson, the creative genius behind the Muppets, held a key partnership with Disney Imagineers, and a plan for Muppets in the Walt Disney World was born. Originally there was a full land planned for the delightful puppets, as seen by the details in that outdoor section. You have to have noticed the Statue of Pigerty, right?
Sadly, Muppet*Vision 3D was the last attraction that Jim Henson worked on with Imagineers before his passing in 1990. After his death, there were issues over who owned the rights to the Muppets and adjusting agreements with Disney, so the plans were limited to just the existing shows.
Years later, we are happy to see Muppet expansion with the restaurant PizzeRizzo (a renaming of the former Pizza Planet), which despite the brutality of the internet, is a delicious and affordable option for families.
Conclusion
Don’t treat Muppet*Vision 3D as a last resort. This entertaining show full of gags and classic special effects with characters that span generations should be on your list for the best day ever at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
