Riverside Depot at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The largest shop in the park, filled with character gear, park souvenirs, and a little bit of everything.

If you’re looking for a one-stop shop at Animal Kingdom, Riverside Depot is it. Whether you’re browsing for souvenirs, replacing something you forgot, or grabbing that one item you saw earlier in the day, this is the store you’ll almost certainly pass through—and probably more than once.

Location

Animal Kingdom | Discovery Island

Riverside Depot sits right near the entrance of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, just after you cross the bridge onto Discovery Island. It’s positioned along the main pathway toward the Tree of Life, making it one of the first—and last—shopping opportunities you’ll encounter in the park.

Its central location also makes it an easy stop on your way out, especially if you’re trying to avoid carrying purchases all day.

Just across the walkway to The Oasis sits the other big merchandise shop in Animal Kingdom, Island Mercantile.

Atmosphere

Riverside Depot feels like a collection of connected trading posts, themed to fit Animal Kingdom’s adventurous, nature-inspired setting. The design leans into wood tones, rustic textures, and explorer-style details, giving it a more immersive feel than a standard gift shop.

Inside, the space is larger than it looks from the outside, with multiple rooms flowing into each other. It can get busy—especially in the afternoon and at park close—but the layout helps disperse crowds fairly well.

Merchandise

If you’re only going to shop at one store in Animal Kingdom, this is the one. Riverside Depot carries the widest variety of merchandise in the park, making it your best “catch-all” location.

You’ll typically find:

• Animal Kingdom–specific apparel and souvenirs
• Plush characters (especially safari-themed and classic Disney characters)
• Mickey and Minnie gear in park-exclusive designs
• Pandora – The World of Avatar merchandise overflow (select items)
• Seasonal and limited-time collections
• Drinkware, pins, and collectibles

Because of its size and selection, this is also a great place to find items that may be sold out elsewhere in the park.

Tips for Visiting

Riverside Depot is convenient—but there are a few ways to use it more strategically. Timing your visit can make a big difference in your experience.

• Shop at park exit to avoid carrying bags all day
• Visit earlier in the day for the best selection
