Shades of Green’s totally remodeled Magnolia Pool is re-opened.
Shades had a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Veterans Day
The pool closed early in 2013 for the renovation. The existing pool was demolished and they started over from scratch.
I recently had the chance to go by and check it out. The new pool is “U” shaped, with walk in entrances at each end and a set of stairs in the center of the U. A new Hot Tub is right next to the bottom of the U.
The day I went by Shades the sky was very overcast so my pics aren’t quite as nice as I’d like. Well you know that means a return trip…
A great new addition with the Magnolia Pool is life guards, something Shades has never had before.
THis is a big improvement over the original “L” shaped pool which was originally installer in the 70s, when the resort belonged to Disney.
The new Hot Tub looks great!
Next On Shades remodeling plan is the resurfacing of the Mill Pond Pool (the Mickey Mouse shaped pool). This will be just a resurfacing rather than a total reconstruction, so should be fairly quick.
