If you’re looking for the fastest, tallest, and most thrilling ride at Disneyland Resort, Incredicoaster delivers in a big way.
This high-speed launch coaster combines classic roller coaster intensity with Pixar storytelling, sending riders racing along Pixar Pier in a chaotic chase featuring the Parr family from The Incredibles.
Incredicoaster is often a must-ride for teens, thrill seekers, and coaster fans — but it’s also one of the attractions families carefully evaluate due to its height requirement, intensity, and inversions. Knowing what to expect ahead of time can help you decide if this is a ride for your crew — or one you’ll want to plan strategically with Rider Switch or the Single Rider Line.
The Queue
The queue for Incredicoaster takes you into the offices of the Parr family’s fictional company, where Edna Mode has just unveiled a new baby-sitting device designed to keep Jack-Jack under control. Naturally, things don’t go as planned.
As you move through the indoor portions of the queue, you’ll see playful theming, animated screens, and story elements setting up the chase that unfolds on the ride. The queue does a good job establishing the tone — energetic, slightly chaotic, and very Incredibles.
Outdoor portions of the line offer limited shade, especially during warmer months, so sun protection and hydration are helpful on busy days. Because this is one of Disney California Adventure’s most popular rides, wait times can climb quickly after park opening.
Incredicoaster is available via Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disneyland Resort, which can significantly reduce standby waits on high-crowd days.
The Ride
Incredicoaster launches riders from a standstill into high speeds almost immediately, kicking off a fast-paced chase to catch Jack-Jack as he teleports through Pixar Pier. The ride reaches speeds around 55 miles per hour and features multiple hills, tight turns, and a full vertical loop.
Throughout the ride, onboard audio and character projections bring the story to life, with appearances from Dash, Violet, Elastigirl, Frozone, and Jack-Jack himself. The combination of speed, airtime, and storytelling makes this coaster feel more immersive than a traditional steel coaster.
This is a true thrill ride. Expect strong acceleration, moments of weightlessness, and sustained speed throughout the layout. Riders sensitive to intense motion, inversions, or high speeds may want to sit this one out.
Night rides are especially popular, offering spectacular views of Pixar Pier’s lighting and a slightly more intense sensation due to reduced visibility.
The Ride Vehicle
Incredicoaster uses long, open-air coaster trains with individual lap bar restraints for each rider. The trains seat riders two across in multiple rows.
Lap bars secure across the thighs rather than over-the-shoulder restraints, allowing for a more open riding experience while still providing strong safety support. Riders should ensure the restraint locks securely before dispatch.
Because of the open design, loose items must be secured or stored before boarding.
Rider Swap
Incredicoaster offers Rider Switch (Rider Swap) for families traveling with children who do not meet the height requirement or who choose not to ride.
One adult waits with the non-rider while the rest of the party rides. Afterward, the waiting adult can ride without waiting in the full standby line. Cast Members at the attraction entrance can assist with setting this up.
This is especially helpful for families with mixed thrill tolerance or younger children.
Accessibility
Guests using wheelchairs or ECVs must transfer to the ride vehicle to experience Incredicoaster. The attraction is not wheelchair accessible during the ride itself.
Due to the high speeds, inversions, and restraint system, this attraction may not be suitable for guests with certain medical conditions, including back, neck, heart, or motion sensitivity issues.
Service animals are not permitted on the ride.
Guests with accessibility questions should consult a Cast Member or Guest Relations for individual guidance.
Height Requirement
The height requirement for Incredicoaster is 48 inches.
Children must meet the height requirement while wearing shoes. Cast Members will measure riders before entering the queue and again at boarding if needed.
Because this is a strict height and safety requirement, exceptions are not made.
Single Rider Line
Incredicoaster offers a Single Rider Line, which allows individual riders to fill empty seats left by larger parties. This can significantly reduce wait times compared to the standby line, especially during peak periods.
Single Rider guests should be aware that they will be separated from their party and may not ride together. Seating location cannot be requested.
The Single Rider Line is a great option for teens, solo travelers, or adults riding while the rest of the family enjoys nearby attractions on Pixar Pier.
Wrap-Up
Incredicoaster stands as the premier thrill attraction at Disney California Adventure, delivering speed, airtime, and Pixar storytelling in one high-energy package. It’s a must-do for coaster fans and older kids, while families with younger children can still enjoy the area using Rider Switch or Single Rider strategies.
If your group loves fast launches and big thrills, this ride deserves a top spot on your touring plan — especially early in the day or with Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
