Just when you thought there couldn’t be any area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios more themed than Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, let us introduce you to 50’s Prime Time Café!
📍Hollywood Studios | Echo Lake
50’s Prime Time Café allows you to step back in time to enjoy a hearty meal with your favorite “cousins”. Pull up a vinyl chair, and turn the dial on the ol’ black and white – we’re going back to the 50’s!
Menu
The menu at 50’s Prime Time Café is a loving tribute to the wholesome meals that graced American dinner tables in the 1950’s. Diners can start their meal with appetizers like Cornbread Skillet, served with Butter and Honey, or the ever-popular Onion Rings.
The main courses are where the cafe truly shines, featuring stick-to-your-ribs comfort food staples such as Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken, which comes with garlic mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, and seasonal vegetables, and Mom’s Old-Fashioned Pot Roast, slow-cooked to tender perfection with garlic mashed potatoes, brown gravy, carrots, celery, and onions.

Grandpa Jean’s Chicken Pot Pie
50’s Prime Time Café is also famous for its Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake. We know it sounds… odd. But it is nostalgic deliciousness that you just have got to try!
The other thing you need to know about the food is that you better eat all of your vegetables… More on that later!
Theming
The theming of 50’s Prime Time Café is perhaps its most charming aspect. From the moment that you walk in, you are in an old living room with study wood furniture and a large black and white television.
Once it is your turn to be seated, you will be directed to the kitchen table by your “cousin” (waitress). She will give you all the latest family gossip and give you a hard time. Everything from the salt and pepper shakers, to the decor on the shelves is authentically from the 50’s.
PRO-TIP: Ask for a table with a mini television on the table so your kids can enjoy fun classic clips!
Antics
Naturally, there is more to this theme than brightly colored vinyl and busy patterned wallpaper. The biggest element of 50’s Prime Time Café theme is the antics of the wait staff! Remember, that waitress is really your cousin, so be prepared to be given a hard time and have to earn your dessert!
Some of the fun:
- Didn’t finish your vegetables? NO DESSERT! Okay, she’ll bring you your dessert…covered in the peas that you left behind
- Went to the restroom? Make sure you remember the color of the soap to prove that you washed your hands or you might have to do a dance in the restaurant.
- Mind your manners – remember, no elbows on the table!
Best Free Souvenir Ever
A fun takeaway from 50’s Prime Time Café is a souvenir that cannot be bought. If you adequately eat all of your dinner, your cousin will present you with the “Clean Plate Club” sticker!
Reservations
50’s Prime Time Café is a Table Service Restaurant in Walt Disney World, so we highly recommend making an advanced dining reservation. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance through your My Disney Experience account.
Extra: Tune-In Lounge
Feeling like getting into Dad’s liquor cabinet? Head on over to the Tune-In Lounge (also known as Dad’s Bar) right next to the 50’s Prime Time Café! No, really, that’s what they call the bar list: Dad’s Liquor Cabinet. Only this time, you won’t be grounded!
The Tune-In Lounge offers a variety of beverages, including classic cocktails and specials unique to the lounge like Dad’s Electric Lemonade.

Tune In Lounge Seating (minimal available)
No reservation? No problem (kind of)! Guests can also order from the full 50’s Prime Time Café menu while seated in the lounge, making it an excellent option for those who couldn’t secure a reservation but still want to enjoy the delicious food and fun atmosphere. That being said, the lounge is on a first-come, first-serve, so it is not guaranteed to be available.
