Making Walt Disney World Park Reservations with the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket
If you’re using the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket, understanding Walt Disney World’s park reservation rules is essential. While Disney has eliminated park reservations for most regular tickets, military promotional tickets (also called the Disney Armed Forces Salute) still require them—and that difference has caused a lot of confusion for military families planning trips in 2026.
This guide explains when park reservations are required, how many you can hold at one time, and how staying at a Disney or select resort hotel—including Shades of Green—can give you far more flexibility, without walking through app screenshots or step-by-step instructions.
What Is the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket?
The Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket is a specially priced promotional ticket available to eligible U.S. military members and their families for visits to Walt Disney World.
Unlike standard date-based tickets, this ticket:
- Allows multiple park visits over an extended window
- Requires advance theme park reservations
- Does not function totally like a Walt Disney World Annual Pass
Understanding those differences upfront prevents most of the frustration we see reported online.
Ticket Options
- Park Hopper – $499
- Park Hopper Plus – $529
- Valid for visits through December 18, 2026
- Ticket Blockout Dates: March 29 – April 11, 2026 & November 22 – 28, 2026
- Theme park reservations are required for every park day
For families planning longer stays or multiple trips, this is one of Disney’s best military values—as long as you plan around the reservation rules.
Are Park Reservations Required with the Military Salute Ticket?
Yes.
Even though Disney has removed park reservations for most ticket types, all Disney Military Salute tickets—including the 2026 Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket—still require a park reservation for each day you plan to visit a theme park.
This requirement applies regardless of:
- Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus
- How many days remain on your ticket
- Whether you are visiting one park or multiple parks in a day
Your first park of the day must be reserved in advance.

How Many Park Reservations Can You Hold at One Time?
This is currently the most confusing — and most inconsistent — rule being reported by 2026 Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket holders.
Many military families naturally assumed that 2026 Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Tickets would behave similarly to an Annual Pass when a qualifying resort stay was linked, allowing reservations for the full length of their stay. Early 2026 user reports now show that the online reservation system is not consistently allowing this.
Based on feedback from military families using the 2026 Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket, here is what we are seeing so far.
Without a Resort Hotel Reservation
If you do not have a Disney or select resort hotel stay linked in My Disney Experience, the system is consistently enforcing the standard limit:
- Up to 5 park reservations at a time
- Reservations operate on a rolling basis
- Once a reservation is used or canceled, another can be booked
This behavior has been stable and predictable.
With a Disney or Select Resort Hotel Reservation — What We’re Actually Seeing
UPDATE (27 Jan 2026) – Readers are reporting that they are able to make up to 10 Theme Park Reservations with a Disney/Shades of Green reservation.
Here’s where things become uncertain.
Multiple users have reported that even with a linked Disney or select resort hotel reservation — including longer stays — the online system is still capping 2026 Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Tickets at five total park reservations. In other words, the reservation system is not currently behaving like an Annual Pass system with a “stay-based” override for many guests.
At the same time, outcomes vary:
- Some guests report being able to call Disney Guest Services or use the Disney website chat function and have additional park reservations manually added beyond the five-day limit.
- Other guests report being told by phone agents that five reservations are the maximum allowed, even with a resort stay.
- Results appear to depend on the Cast Member, timing, and how the ticket is linked.
At this point, there is no consistent, system-wide behavior. Until Disney formally clarifies or updates the reservation system, military families should plan conservatively.
Important planning tip: If you are told “no” by one Cast Member and your travel dates require additional reservations, it is definitely worth calling back and speaking with a different agent. Several families have reported different outcomes on follow-up calls.
Select Non-Disney Resort Hotels That Also Qualify
- Shades of Green Resort
- Walt Disney World Swan
- Walt Disney World Dolphin
- Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
These resorts are still considered qualifying hotels for park reservation eligibility — however, the technical enforcement of expanded reservation limits for Military Salute tickets is currently inconsistent.
Important Things to Know About Park Reservations
- Park reservations are required for every park visit
- Disney and select resort hotels may remove the five-day cap
- Popular dates can fill early, especially around holidays
- Reservations can be modified or canceled if plans change
- Even with Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus, you must choose a starting park each day
Final Thoughts
The Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket is not an annual pass, and it does not follow the same park reservation rules. Once you understand how reservations work—and how resort stays affect availability—it becomes much easier to plan confidently.
If you’re traveling to Walt Disney World in 2025 or 2026 using a Military Salute ticket, your park reservation strategy should be one of the first things you plan, not an afterthought.
If you still have questions, drop them in the comments—I keep a close eye on how Disney is applying these rules in real-world use.

Hi, I just want to give you a heads up that I was also not allowed to reserve more than 5 days but when I called Disney, they told me to select that I have an annual pass when selecting our park reservations online.. I tried it and was able to select the remaining days. It’s my understanding that Disney didn’t have to do anything on their end to resolve this for me. (We are staying at a Disneyworld resort)
Great intel Sheila, thanks!
