To date all of Walt Disney World’s announced Resort Room Discounts have only run through 25 December 2020, calling into question 2021 Discounts.
UPDATE 3 Dec – Disney has announced 2021 Disney Armed Forces Salute Info
Now there is Good News and a Positive Sign for a 2021 Disney Armed Forces Salute Room Discount!
Disney World’s website is now offering Passholder discounts up to 40% off (just like the Salute, an amount they hadn’t done for the general public before this year) 3 January through 17 April 2021.
We expect other general public discounts to follow.
UPDATE: We just received an announcement that there are general public and Florida resident discounts up to 35% off for the same dates.
MDT hopes and expects that a 2021 Disney Armed Forces Salute Room Discount would be rolled out in the future.
Still being unprecedented times, we could see a partial year offer just for Disney World, followed later by (multiple) partial year extensions. They have done short military offers with extensions in the past.
Disneyland could follow separately with different offers that don’t match WDW’s.
We’ll keep tracking this important topic and let you know as soon as we know anything!

What are your thoughts on ticket discounts for 2021 too ? My family was hoping for an October 2021 trip but, the current offer expires towards the end of September 2021. Not sure whether to take advantage of current offer and go earlier (we want to be down there for the Halloween festivities), or wait and see.
Hi Lorin,
With this long extension, they have given themselves lots of breathing room until they have to do something about Salute Tickets.
I imaging that before summer they will announce either an extension of the 2020 tickets or more probably a new, more expensive 2021 ticket offer that could run just through December or through the end of Disney’s fiscal year in late September 2022 (before 2015 the salutes used to run on Disney’s fiscal year not the calendar one).
I don’t envision their deciding in the near future…
Thanks for the update Steve, I am pretty much checking daily. We have reservations for June 2021 “BEACH CLUB VILLAS” for the first time, we normally stay at the Boardwalk in. We are hoping they do have the resort military discount so we can get that 40 percent off or even if they had the general 30 percent off it would help.
Really appreciate the information you provide and the email updates as well.
Hi Keith,
The Beach Club is our personal favorite! It’s just a little closer than the BoardWalk.
I spent the last night of my last trip (2 weeks in Aug/Sept 2020) in a 1 BR Beach Club Villa. Simply beautiful!
Thanks to you too for being a loyal reader!

We skipped out on our annual October WDW trip and are having major regret. Kids struggling with virtual schooling, so we decided we’d plan a trip in January. So far no resort discounts for military, do we anticipate there being one? We are a family of 6, so SOG would require 2 rooms and wouldn’t be more affordable vs a family suite at AOA. Just trying to figure out the most affordable way to go during these times!
Hi Chris,
I do anticipate one. When Disney will announce it is the big issue…
Their communication with our community throughout this has been horrendous.
I’ve reached out to WDW Media Relations on this, but have not yet heard back. Soon I’ll be reaching out to corporate leadership.
Just read on The Disney Tourist Blog that Disney is bringing back the park hopper in 2021. Apparently you still have to make a park reservation, but only for the 1st park you’ll visit that day.
Great news for our military discount tickets that include the park hopper. But it’s only great news if it’s real. Have you heard anything about that?
Hi Peg,
I just heard a rumor a few minutes ago that this might be happening in January.
I just got back last night and can report that all the parks start to empty out around dinner time. It just makes no sense to not let people in. They have (always had) a system that lets them know how many are in the park…
We stayed at a pricey Epcot Deluxe Resort and it made zero sense that we couldn’t pop into an empty Epcot in the evening after dinner (or for dinner) when paying those rates.
It’s official, not a rumor.
From Disney: “Starting Jan. 1, 2021, guests who purchased a ticket, package or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits will be able to visit more than one park per day, with some new modifications as part of our ongoing focus on health and safety.
With the updated Park Hopper® experience, Guests must make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit (reservation requirements are subject to change) AND enter that first park prior to visiting another.
Additionally, we will set specific Park Hopper® hours during which this option will be available. Park Hopper® hours will start at 2 p.m. each day and end at the park’s scheduled close time.
Guests will soon be able to check DisneyWorld.com/ParkHours and the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper® hours, as they could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park.”
Do ex-spouses qualify for the military discount tickets. I have a DOD/Uniformed Id and Privilied Card. My ID states that I am authorized MWR.
Thank-you!
Hi Maggie,
The MWR does qualify you for tickets. However this is a delicate situation, as the 6 tickets available under the Disney Armed Forces Salute belong to the member and not the spouse. You have no allocation of tickets of your own. Using any would take away from your ex’s allotment.
