The Disney Cruise Line offers Military discounts on Individual Sailings.
Unlike the Disney Armed Forces Salute, Military Discounted Disney Cruise Rates are not always offered.
Since resuming operations in 2022, Disney Cruise Line has published Military Rates for sailings for large chunks of time!
Before this, they only released available dates (or not) based on actual bookings, 60 days prior to each sailing.
NOTE: As of 17 June 2024, the Disney Cruise Line has stopped placing military discount prices on their main military discount web page. This main page now just indicates which sailings offer the discount.
To see prices, you will need to click on the Book Now link on their Military Discount Page. The list is long due to the image and text size for each sailing. I recommend that you look for dates that you are interested in below or on Disney’s main page, where they are easier to see, and then click Book Now and scan for your cruise type and departure port to check the prices. Once you find the cruise type and port, click on Show Date(s) to see prices.
Discounts Vary
The percentage offered off of the regular price varies widely based on individual sailings. I’ve seen from 6% to 26% off.
Disney Military Cruise Discount Applicability
The military deals are generally available for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8-night cruises to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Bermuda, the Pacific, and Europe. There are even discounts on positioning sailings.
The special military rates are offered for active and retired military members of the U.S. Armed Forces or their Spouses.
- Active Duty
- Reserve
- National Guard
- Coast Guard
Active and retired members of the U.S. military or spouses must provide a valid military ID at the time of check-in.
Guard and Reserve Note: Disney’s site says, “Members of the US National Guard or the US Military Reserves (or their spouses) must show active-duty orders dated (as of) January 1st of the previous year to qualify.” This comes from a misunderstanding on Disney’s part; they think that Reserve IDs look different than active duty ones (which they do not). There is no way to tell a Reservist/Guardsman from an active member by looking at their ID. I contacted the DCL about this, and they said, “If a Guest wishing to use the military discount and is in either the U.S. National Guard or the US Army Reserve, we expect that they also provide us with the paperwork required that is stated on the website, the booking terms and conditions, and in the stated policy.” This statement again shows their ignorance. What about the Air National Guard or other branches of the Reserves besides the Army? They also don’t seem to realize that all Reservists and Guardsmen perform active duty every year during their annual tour. So my recommendation is to show your ID at check-in and go about your cruise, but have a copy of your last AT orders in your pocket.
This offer is limited to 1 stateroom (two if needed for immediate family) per military member, per sailing.
- Availability for this offer is limited to 50 staterooms per category per sailing.
- This offer is limited to a maximum of one stateroom per military member (or spouse), per sailing. A US military service member (or spouse) is required to sail to take advantage of this offer.
- Rates are in US dollars and are not combinable with other discounts or offers.

Hi Steve,
I contacted Disney asking if 100% disabled veteran also qualifies for the military discount for Disney cruises and their answer was, “Active duty or retired military personnel and 100% Permanently Disabled Veterans do not have to travel as long as the spouse has a valid military ID; divorced spouses do not qualify. Retired Military personnel will have a military ID that states ‘retiree’. The 100% Permanently Disabled Veterans will have a military ID that has the code of DAVPRM printed on the front of the ID.”
Since I have the New Generation USID which does not have DAVPRM printed on it, I asked if that was acceptable. This was the response, “We apologize for any concern and have confirmed that as long as the Military ID states 100% Disabled Veteran (DD form 1173) it is acceptable. The ID is no longer required to be imprinted with DAVPRM.”
It confuses me because DD 1173 is not the New Generation ID. I suspect that as long as the military ID says 100% DAV then that should suffice. Do you have any new updates regarding military discounts on 100% disabled veterans? It would be a lot easier if Disney would mention it on their website instead of just saying it’s for active duty and retirees.
Hi Katherine,
I suspect that you are correct.
No I have not heard back from Disney. I queried both WDW N+Media Relations and WDW Public Relations and did not receive an acknowledgement or reply from either.
I did receive a call from another guest communication department of the company that “shares” the public relations email address. She stated that she’d seen my email and was just calling to make sure someone had responded. When I told her, “No, could she get them to?” She replied that she was unable to do that. We talked a long time where I explained the situation in depth and she answered with several standard misconceptions. I asked if she could find the answer for me and she said that she couldn’t as she had no connection to the departments involved.
I my husband is also 100% service connected disabled army veteran, TBI injury. He is not longer able to travel but as his spouse I would like to take grandkids on cruise. I would need two rooms. What is the guidelines for this adventure happening for our family?
Hi Jody,
You’d need a spouse ID. As long as you have one you are eligible.
Hi,
I’m a spouse of veteran and I would like to know if I can use the cruise ticket as a gift to my family?
Hi Arcelina,
Many people use the word veteran in different ways. If you mean that he did not retire from the military, then the answer would be no.
If you mean he did retire from the military, then yes you could with your retired spouse ID.
What is the discount or cost approximately?
Hi Tiffany,
Just like their resort rooms, it varies by ship, sailing, cabin type, and how many they have left that they want to move. Until a month or two back they published the starting price, but no mopre.
You now have to call or have your agent do it.
