Disney Cruise Line offers special military rates on select cruises for eligible active-duty and retired U.S. military members and their spouses.

These discounts can be substantial, but they work very differently from the annual Disney Armed Forces Salute theme park ticket offers.

Disney Cruise Line military discounts are not available on every ship, itinerary, or sailing date. Disney releases discounted inventory on individual cruises based on availability, and those offers can appear or disappear from one week to the next.

Military Disney Tips checks Disney Cruise Line’s published military offers every Monday. Our continuously updated list of currently advertised discounted sailings appears below.

How Disney Cruise Line Military Discounts Work

Disney Cruise Line does not offer one standing military discount that can be applied to any cruise.

Instead, Disney selects individual sailings and makes a limited number of staterooms available at a special military rate.

A sailing may be discounted because Disney still has unsold inventory in certain stateroom categories. Another cruise on the same ship a few days later may have no military discount at all.

Military rates can vary by:

  • Ship
  • Sailing date
  • Departure port
  • Itinerary
  • Stateroom category
  • Current booking demand

Beginning in 2026, Disney started publishing the percentage discount offered on each listed military sailing rather than identifying only a specific discounted stateroom category.

Recent advertised military offers have commonly ranged from 25% to 35% off the voyage fare, although the available percentage varies by cruise.

The discount applies to the voyage fare. Taxes, fees, port expenses, gratuities, Port Adventures, spa services, adult dining, merchandise and other onboard expenses are separate.

STEVE’S TAKE: Think of Disney Cruise Line military rates as discounted inventory—not as a military benefit that Disney applies to every cruise. The discount is excellent when the available sailing fits your plans, but it should not be treated as guaranteed.

The following list is updated every Monday using Disney Cruise Line’s currently advertised Special U.S. Military Rates.

Newly added sailings are shown in bold during the week they first appear. The introductory update also identifies cruises that have disappeared since the previous Monday.

Current 2026 Advertised Military Discounts on Disney Cruises

Updated August 3, 2026: Disney Cruise Line has updated its Special US Military Rates list again, adding several new Halloween and Very Merrytime sailings from Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral while removing a handful of late-summer cruises.

The biggest additions this week include new October 5 and November 25 Disney Destiny sailings from Fort Lauderdale, a new 7-Night Halloween on the High Seas Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Destiny, a new 7-Night Very Merrytime Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Dream, additional October Halloween sailings aboard the Disney Wish, and a new December 4 Very Merrytime Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy.

Several previously advertised sailings disappeared this week, including the August 14 Disney Wish 3-Night Bahamian cruise, the August 10 and August 17 Disney Wish 4-Night Bahamian cruises, the September 11 Disney Fantasy Halloween on the High Seas sailing, the November 20 Disney Fantasy Very Merrytime Western Caribbean sailing, the Southampton transatlantic sailing, and all current military discounts from Galveston.

Why Military Cruise Rates Change Every Week

Disney Cruise Line adjusts its special military inventory as cruise cabins sell.

That means a sailing can:

  • Appear on Disney’s military list for the first time
  • Remain available for several weeks
  • Return after previously disappearing
  • Disappear without advance notice
  • Remain listed while certain stateroom categories sell out

Disney limits the offer to a maximum of 50 staterooms per category per sailing, subject to availability.

That does not mean 50 rooms will always be available when you search. Some may have already been booked, and Disney can control which categories are included in the military inventory.

A cruise appearing in our Monday update confirms that Disney is advertising a military discount on that sailing. It does not guarantee that every party size or desired stateroom category will still be available.

How Much Can You Save?

Disney now publishes a percentage discount for each advertised military sailing.

The percentage applies to the voyage fare, not necessarily the entire final cost of the cruise.

For example, your final reservation may also include:

  • Government taxes
  • Port fees and expenses
  • Prepaid gratuities
  • Travel insurance
  • Ground transportation
  • Hotel stays before or after the cruise
  • Port Adventures
  • Adult dining
  • Spa services
  • Onboard purchases

The dollar amount saved depends on the cruise’s original fare, stateroom category and number of guests.

A 30% discount on a seven-night family cruise may produce a much larger dollar savings than a 35% discount on a three-night cruise. Compare the final military fare—not just the advertised percentage.

Compare Why It Matters
Discount percentage The percentage Disney deducts from the eligible voyage fare
Final cruise fare The actual amount you will pay after the discount
Taxes and port expenses These are not included in the military discount
Stateroom category A higher-category discounted room can still cost more than a lower-category regular room
Total vacation cost Airfare, hotels, transportation and onboard expenses can outweigh a small difference in cruise fare

Who Qualifies for Disney Cruise Line Military Rates?

Disney Cruise Line defines an Eligible Service Member as an active or retired member of the U.S. military, including active or retired members of:

  • U.S. Army
  • U.S. Marine Corps
  • U.S. Navy
  • U.S. Air Force
  • U.S. Space Force
  • U.S. Coast Guard
  • National Guard
  • Military Reserves
  • Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service
  • Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The spouse of an Eligible Service Member also qualifies when traveling without the military member, provided the spouse presents a valid and active U.S. military dependent ID.

The Eligible Service Member or qualifying spouse must sail in the stateroom booked with the military rate and present valid military identification at check-in.

MILITARY ID NOTE: National Guard and Reserve members use the same Common Access Card as active-duty service members. Disney’s current military cruise offer does not require Guard or Reserve members to present activation orders in addition to their valid military ID.

Do Non-Retired Veterans Qualify?

No. Disney Cruise Line’s military rate is available to active and retired military personnel and qualifying spouses.

A veteran who previously served but did not retire from the military does not qualify solely because of prior service. A Department of Veterans Affairs health identification card, DD Form 214 or veteran designation does not establish eligibility for this offer.

How Many Staterooms Can You Book?

Disney’s current military offer permits a maximum of one stateroom per Eligible Service Member or qualifying spouse, per sailing.

The Eligible Service Member or spouse must sail in the discounted stateroom.

This is important for extended-family vacations.

One eligible military member cannot use one military discount to reserve several separate cabins for relatives.

When more than one adult traveler independently qualifies as an Eligible Service Member, ask Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent whether each eligible adult can reserve a separate stateroom under the offer.

Do not assume that older exceptions or previous two-stateroom practices apply to the current offer. Follow the terms attached to the sailing being booked.

Should You Wait for a Disney Cruise Military Discount?

That depends on how flexible you are.

Military rates can provide excellent savings, but waiting for one is risky when your vacation depends on a specific cruise.

Book Without Waiting When You Need

  • A specific ship
  • A specific departure date
  • A school-break sailing
  • A holiday-week cruise
  • A particular itinerary or port
  • Connecting or adjoining staterooms
  • An accessible stateroom
  • A limited stateroom category
  • Concierge accommodations
  • A major family reunion date

Military rates are valid for new bookings only. If you reserve a regular-price cruise and a military rate later appears, Disney may require the reservation to be rebooked rather than simply applying the discount.

Availability, deposits, cancellation penalties and stateroom selection can affect whether changing the reservation makes sense.

Consider Waiting When You Are Flexible About

  • Travel dates
  • Departure port
  • Ship
  • Itinerary
  • Length of cruise
  • Stateroom category
  • Holiday or themed sailing
STEVE RECOMMENDS: Do not fall in love with one sailing and assume a military rate will eventually appear. The military families most likely to save are the ones who can move their vacation by a week or two, consider another ship, or sail from more than one departure port.

Which Cruises Are Most Likely to Receive Military Rates?

No ship, month or itinerary is guaranteed to receive a military discount.

However, Disney’s published lists frequently include cruises for which the company still has military-rate inventory relatively close to sailing.

Our weekly tracking commonly finds discounts among:

  • Late-summer and fall cruises
  • Short Bahamian itineraries
  • Halloween on the High Seas sailings
  • Very Merrytime cruises
  • Alaskan sailings later in the season
  • West Coast cruises
  • Repositioning cruises
  • Transatlantic sailings
  • Selected Caribbean cruises

This does not mean that every cruise in those groups will be discounted. It means flexible travelers should watch them closely.

Military Discounts on Halloween and Very Merrytime Cruises

Disney Cruise Line sometimes offers military rates on its themed seasonal sailings.

These can include:

  • Halloween on the High Seas cruises
  • Very Merrytime cruises

A military rate on a themed cruise can be a strong value because the seasonal entertainment and decorations are included in the cruise experience.

However, not every holiday sailing is equally likely to receive a discount.

A themed cruise in September, October, early November or early December may appear on the military list while a cruise during Thanksgiving week or Christmas week does not.

Watch the exact sailing dates rather than assuming the entire holiday season is discounted.

Military Rates on Disney’s Newest Cruise Ships

Military rates are not limited to Disney’s older ships.

Disney has advertised military discounts on newer vessels, including:

  • Disney Wish
  • Disney Treasure
  • Disney Destiny

The appearance of a new ship on the military list does not mean every itinerary aboard that ship will receive a discount.

When a desirable sailing appears, compare the military fare immediately. Limited categories can disappear quickly.

Are Disney Cruise Military Rates Always the Best Price?

Not necessarily.

A military rate may be the best available price for a particular sailing, but you should compare it with:

  • Disney’s regular cruise fare
  • Other Disney special offers
  • Florida resident offers when applicable
  • Travel-agent onboard credits or incentives
  • Different sailing dates
  • Different stateroom categories

Disney Cruise Line military rates cannot be combined with another Disney discount or special offer.

A travel agency may separately provide an incentive, but that depends on the agency’s terms and Disney’s commission rules.

The lowest advertised percentage is also not automatically the worst value. A 25% military discount on the cruise your family wants may be more useful than a 35% discount on a cruise requiring expensive airfare or inconvenient travel dates.

Can You Apply a Military Rate to an Existing Reservation?

Disney Cruise Line states that military rates are valid for new bookings only.

That means Disney does not simply add the discount to an existing reservation.

When a military rate appears after you have already booked, you or your travel agent may need to:

  1. Confirm that military inventory is still available
  2. Price the new military reservation
  3. Review the cancellation terms of the original reservation
  4. Check whether the desired stateroom can be retained
  5. Compare any lost onboard credit or booking incentive
  6. Rebook only when the overall savings justify the change

Do not cancel an existing cruise until the replacement military reservation is secured.

A lower fare is not helpful if you lose a needed cabin, encounter a cancellation penalty, or give up a valuable agency incentive.

The 2026 Military $250 Onboard Credit Offer

For America’s 250th anniversary, Disney Cruise Line introduced a separate $250 onboard credit per qualifying reservation for eligible U.S. military personnel on select Disney Wish and Disney Dream sailings during 2026.

This is different from the Special U.S. Military Rates listed in our weekly sailing update.

The onboard-credit offer:

  • Applies to select Disney Wish and Disney Dream sailings from Florida
  • Requires the cruise to sail by December 31, 2026
  • Can apply to qualifying new and existing bookings
  • Is available for eligible stateroom categories 04A through 11C
  • Does not apply to Concierge staterooms or suites
  • Is limited to one $250 onboard credit per reservation
  • Requires the Eligible Service Member or spouse to sail
  • Requires valid military identification at check-in

The onboard credit automatically appears on the stateroom account and can be used during the cruise for eligible onboard purchases, including:

  • Shipboard services
  • Merchandise
  • Food and beverages
  • Port Adventures

The credit is nonrefundable, nontransferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Because this is a separate military offer, confirm which promotion is attached to the reservation and whether it can be used with the fare you are booking.

Common Disney Cruise Military Discount Mistakes

Waiting for a Discount on One Specific Cruise

There is no guarantee that your preferred cruise will receive a military rate.

Book when the exact date, itinerary or stateroom is more important than the possible discount.

Assuming the Discount Will Remain Available

Military inventory is limited. A sailing can disappear from Disney’s list or lose your preferred category between searches.

Checking Only Once

Disney updates its offers frequently. A sailing that is not discounted today may appear later.

Looking Only at the Discount Percentage

Compare the final fare, taxes, transportation expenses and total vacation cost.

Assuming Every Veteran Qualifies

Disney’s offer is written for active and retired military personnel and qualifying spouses. Prior service alone does not establish eligibility.

Booking Multiple Staterooms Under One Eligible Member

The current offer limits the booking to one stateroom per Eligible Service Member or spouse, per sailing.

Forgetting Military Identification

The Eligible Service Member or spouse must present valid identification at check-in.

Ignoring Cancellation Rules

Military rates are new-booking offers. Rebooking an existing cruise can affect deposits, cancellation penalties, cabin selection and agency incentives.

Assuming Taxes and Gratuities Are Discounted

The special rate applies to the eligible voyage fare. Taxes, fees, port expenses, gratuities and extras remain additional.

Why Use a Military-Savvy Disney Cruise Travel Agent?

Disney’s military cruise discounts can appear and disappear quickly.

A travel agent who understands military offers can:

  • Monitor newly released military rates
  • Compare multiple ships and sailing dates
  • Check military stateroom inventory
  • Explain deposit and cancellation rules
  • Compare an existing reservation with a new military rate
  • Help protect your existing cruise before rebooking
  • Confirm documentation requirements
  • Assist with dining, transportation and onboard planning

Disney Cruise Line Stateroom Categories

Disney Cruise Line uses numbered categories to distinguish stateroom types and locations.

The exact military inventory available can vary by ship and sailing. Even when a cruise is listed, Disney may not offer every category at the military rate.

Frequently Asked Questions: Disney Cruise Line Military Discounts

What is the Disney Cruise Line military discount?

Disney Cruise Line offers limited special military rates on select ships, itineraries and sailing dates. The discount applies to eligible voyage fares and is subject to military inventory being available.

How much is the Disney Cruise Line military discount?

The percentage varies by sailing. Disney’s 2026 advertised military rates have commonly offered approximately 25% to 35% off the eligible voyage fare.

Does every Disney cruise receive a military discount?

No. Disney selects individual cruises based on availability. A military rate is not guaranteed for any ship, itinerary or departure date.

Who qualifies for Disney Cruise Line military rates?

Disney’s offer includes active and retired U.S. military personnel, including active and retired members of the National Guard, Military Reserves, Coast Guard and Space Force, as well as the commissioned corps of the Public Health Service and NOAA. A qualifying spouse with a valid and active military dependent ID may use the offer without the service member present.

Do non-retired veterans qualify?

No. Disney Cruise Line’s published offer is limited to active and retired military personnel and qualifying spouses. Prior military service alone does not qualify a veteran for the military cruise rate.

Does the military member have to sail?

The Eligible Service Member or qualifying spouse must sail in the stateroom booked with the military rate.

How many staterooms can be booked at the military rate?

Disney’s current offer permits one stateroom per Eligible Service Member or spouse, per sailing.

Can I add the military discount to an existing reservation?

No. Disney states that military rates are valid for new bookings only. An existing cruise may need to be rebooked if eligible military inventory becomes available.

Can military rates be combined with another Disney discount?

No. Disney Cruise Line military rates cannot be combined with another Disney special offer or discount.

Are taxes and gratuities discounted?

No. The military rate applies to the eligible voyage fare. Taxes, fees, port expenses, gratuities and other cruise expenses are additional.

Can Disney Vacation Points be used for a military-rate cruise?

No. Disney states that Disney Vacation Points cannot be used to book Special U.S. Military Rates.

How often are military cruises added?

Disney does not publish a fixed release schedule. Offers can change from week to week. Military Disney Tips checks and updates the current sailing list every Monday.

Should I wait for a military rate before booking?

Wait only when your dates, ship, itinerary and stateroom category are flexible. Book earlier when you need a specific cruise or room.

Do military rates include Halloween or Christmas cruises?

Sometimes. Disney has offered military rates on select Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime sailings, but not every holiday cruise is discounted.

What military ID is required?

The Eligible Service Member or qualifying spouse must present a valid and active U.S. military ID at port check-in. Disney’s current offer does not require National Guard or Reserve members to present activation orders.

How to Find and Book a Disney Cruise Military Rate

  1. Confirm your eligibility. Review Disney’s definition of an Eligible Service Member and make sure the qualifying traveler will sail.
  2. Review the current military sailing list. Use the weekly updated list near the top of this page to identify possible cruises.
  3. Stay flexible. Compare nearby dates, alternate ships, departure ports and stateroom categories.
  4. Check the live price. Open Disney’s booking system or ask a military-savvy travel agent to confirm current military inventory.
  5. Compare the complete cost. Include taxes, port expenses, transportation and any lost booking incentives.
  6. Review the restrictions. Confirm deposit, cancellation, identification and documentation requirements.
  7. Secure the reservation promptly. Military inventory is limited and can disappear without notice.
  8. Do not cancel an existing cruise prematurely. Secure the replacement reservation before changing an existing booking.
  9. Bring proof of eligibility. Carry the required military ID and any additional documents Disney specifies.

    Hi Steve,

I contacted Disney asking if 100% disabled veteran also qualifies for the military discount for Disney cruises and their answer was, “Active duty or retired military personnel and 100% Permanently Disabled Veterans do not have to travel as long as the spouse has a valid military ID; divorced spouses do not qualify. Retired Military personnel will have a military ID that states ‘retiree’. The 100% Permanently Disabled Veterans will have a military ID that has the code of DAVPRM printed on the front of the ID.”

Since I have the New Generation USID which does not have DAVPRM printed on it, I asked if that was acceptable. This was the response, “We apologize for any concern and have confirmed that as long as the Military ID states 100% Disabled Veteran (DD form 1173) it is acceptable. The ID is no longer required to be imprinted with DAVPRM.”

It confuses me because DD 1173 is not the New Generation ID. I suspect that as long as the military ID says 100% DAV then that should suffice. Do you have any new updates regarding military discounts on 100% disabled veterans? It would be a lot easier if Disney would mention it on their website instead of just saying it’s for active duty and retirees.

      Hi Katherine,

I suspect that you are correct.

No I have not heard back from Disney. I queried both WDW N+Media Relations and WDW Public Relations and did not receive an acknowledgement or reply from either.

I did receive a call from another guest communication department of the company that “shares” the public relations email address. She stated that she’d seen my email and was just calling to make sure someone had responded. When I told her, “No, could she get them to?” She replied that she was unable to do that. We talked a long time where I explained the situation in depth and she answered with several standard misconceptions. I asked if she could find the answer for me and she said that she couldn’t as she had no connection to the departments involved.

I my husband is also 100% service connected disabled army veteran, TBI injury. He is not longer able to travel but as his spouse I would like to take grandkids on cruise. I would need two rooms. What is the guidelines for this adventure happening for our family?

      Hi Jody,

You’d need a spouse ID. As long as you have one you are eligible.

    Hi,
I’m a spouse of veteran and I would like to know if I can use the cruise ticket as a gift to my family?

    • Steve says

      9 February 2024 at 10:27

      Hi Arcelina,

Many people use the word veteran in different ways. If you mean that he did not retire from the military, then the answer would be no.

If you mean he did retire from the military, then yes you could with your retired spouse ID.

What is the discount or cost approximately?

    • Steve Bell says

      5 October 2024 at 09:33

      Hi Tiffany,

Just like their resort rooms, it varies by ship, sailing, cabin type, and how many they have left that they want to move. Until a month or two back they published the starting price, but no mopre.

You now have to call or have your agent do it.
