Visit this globally beloved dumpling house at the Disneyland Resort!
Din Tai Fung brings its world-renowned Taiwanese flavors and signature xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) to Downtown Disney in a sleek, modern setting perfect for both families and food lovers seeking something truly special.
Location
Din Tai Fung is located at the Disneyland Hotel end of the Downtown Disney District, near the main entrance to the district from the hotel side. It sits just steps from the Downtown Disney Live Stage and its grassy viewing area, making it an easy dining stop whether you’re staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel or heading in from that end of the district. It’s a short walk to and from both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Ambiance
The restaurant’s design mirrors the elegance and efficiency that Din Tai Fung is famous for worldwide. Inside, you’ll find a contemporary, airy dining room accented with warm wood tones, clean lines, and a relaxed upscale feel. One of the highlights is watching the culinary team hand-fold dumplings in the open prep area behind glass — it’s part craft, part performance, and it’s mesmerizing.
Despite its popularity, the atmosphere remains welcoming and calm. It’s an excellent option for a proper sit-down meal outside the parks, whether you’re having lunch between park hops or winding down after fireworks.
Menu
Din Tai Fung’s menu centers on freshly made dumplings, noodles, rice dishes, and wok-fried vegetables, blending delicate technique with bold flavor. This is not “theme park food” — it’s legit, high-quality Taiwanese comfort cooking.
Signature favorites include:
- Pork Xiao Long Bao – The dish that made Din Tai Fung famous. These delicate soup dumplings are filled with rich, savory broth and tender pork, wrapped in a paper-thin handmade wrapper.
- Shrimp & Pork Wontons with Spicy Sauce – Tender wontons tossed in a savory, mildly spicy sauce. A must-order for guests who like a little heat.
- Cucumber Salad – Cool, crisp, garlicky, and lightly marinated. This simple starter is one of Din Tai Fung’s most-loved small plates.
- Green Beans with Garlic – Wok-fried green beans that are salty, savory, and incredibly addictive.
- Shrimp Fried Rice – Light, buttery fried rice with sweet shrimp and egg. A crowd-pleaser and very kid-friendly.
- Chocolate & Golden Custard Buns – Soft steamed buns with molten sweet fillings. A perfect finish if you like dessert that’s fun to share.
Vegetarian options are well represented, and several dishes can be customized. There is also a curated list of cocktails, wine, beer, and sake available to pair with your meal.
Reservations
Reservations are available exclusively through OpenTable and are not handled in the Disneyland app. Walk-up availability can be extremely limited during peak meal periods, weekends, and evenings, so advance planning is highly recommended.
Wrap-Up
Din Tai Fung is one of the strongest table-service additions to the Disneyland Resort dining lineup. The food is consistently excellent, the experience feels special without being stuffy, and it’s a welcome break from typical theme park burgers and pizza. Whether you’re a long-time Din Tai Fung fan or trying it for the first time, this is a must-do stop in Downtown Disney.
