Margaritas, waterfront views, and a lively atmosphere make this a Disney Springs must-stop!
Location
Dockside Margaritas sits in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs, right along the water near World of Disney and Ghirardelli Soda Fountain. It’s perfectly placed for a refreshing pause between shopping stops or before dinner.
Ambiance
This is an open-air, outdoor bar with casual tables and stools—pure laid-back Florida. Breezes roll off the lake, and live music often sets the mood. It’s one of the best people-watching perches at Disney Springs.
Drink Menu
The stars here are the margaritas! You’ll also find Florida-inspired cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic sips.
The drinks are cold, refreshing, and easy to enjoy on a warm afternoon or balmy evening.
As the name promises, margaritas are the star. You’ll find:
- Hand Mixed Margaritas – Lime, Watermelon, Habanero, and more.
- Frozen Margarita Classics like lime and strawberry.
- Specialty & Seasonal Flavors that rotate through the year.
- Other sips: Florida-inspired cocktails, beer, wine, and refreshing non-alcoholic options.
Everything is designed for easy sipping under the sun—perfect for a casual toast by the water.
See their current menu here.
Food Menu
Dockside is a drink stand, so food is not offered. But, grab a nearby snack first (there are plenty within a short walk) or treat this as a pre-dinner stop before a reservation elsewhere in Disney Springs.
History
Dockside Margaritas opened in 2015 during the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs. Before Disney Springs was created, the Marketplace area looked very different. For years, guests could grab a frozen drink at Cap’n Jack’s Margarita Bar, a small walk-up stand located right on the water near to Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant.
The bar sat on the dock level with umbrella-covered tables stretching out on the dock, making it one of the most scenic (and relaxing) spots at the former Downtown Disney.
Cap’n Jack’s Margarita Bar closed in 2013 along with the nearby restaurant as part of the Disney Springs transformation. The entire dock area was removed, and the waterfront was redesigned to fit the new theming.
Out of this remodel came Dockside Margaritas, which officially opened on April 23, 2015. While the name and setting changed, the spirit of enjoying a margarita by the water carried on, making Dockside Margaritas the spiritual successor to Cap’n Jack’s.
Reservations
No reservations needed—this is a walk-up bar. Seating is first-come, first-served at small tables and stools around the stand.
Good to Know
- Walk-up only: No reservations; tables and stools are first-come, first-served.
- Live music times vary: Evenings are most common and draw larger crowds.
- Family-friendly: Non-alcoholic options make it an easy pause for the whole group.
Wrap-Up / Final Thoughts
Whether you’re strolling the Marketplace or meeting friends before dinner, Dockside Margaritas delivers easy vibes, cold drinks, and great music right on the water. It’s a simple pleasure—and a quintessential Disney Springs stop.
