This post is part of our Frequently Asked Question Series in the Disney Armed Forces Salute Ticket FAQ section.
The Disney’s Armed Forces Salute offers huge savings on theme park tickets and resort rooms to those Service Members who are eligible to participate.
I’m A Disney Passholder, do I need to have a Disney Armed Forces Salute ticket for myself to activate Salute Tickets for others?
Normally military members or spouses who are activating Salute tickets of others need to be part of the party and have their own ticket. This is to prevent giving the tickets away to ineligible people or worse scalping these highly discounted tickets.
As a Disney Passhloder you do not need to purchase and activate a Disney Armed Forces Salute ticket of your own.
You may activate up to 5 Salute tickets for others during the current offer. One ticket must be held in reserve for the member.

Steve,
I am staying this year in Orlando from 12/30/2017 to 1/06/2018. The 2017 amusement park tickets expire before I get there on 12/19/2017. Should I “expect” the discounted tickets to roll over into that last week of December and still get a comparable price like 2017 tickets? How do people usually tackle this one?
Hi there David,
You know they say Timing is everything…
The Salut has never been offered during The week or so just before Christmas through NYE or sometimes later. If Disney renews the Salute for 2018 I expect it to start between the 1st and the 3rd.
There is no good deal at that time as the parks are already over full at full price, no need for discounts.
The non-gate price options would be the Regular Military Discounted Magic Your Way Tickets. See: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/disney-military-discounts/regular-disney-military-discount-for-walt-disney-world-and-disneyland-tickets/
Or the Shades of Green Stars and Stripes Pass if you are staying on property: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/Tickets/Stars-and-Stripes-Passes.html
