Brave the roaring rapids and prepare to get soaked on Kali River Rapids!
The Queue
The journey on Kali River Rapids begins long before you set foot on the raft. The queue winds through the lush jungles of Asia, immersing you in the rich culture and vibrant atmosphere of a remote jungle village. As you make your way through the queue, you’ll pass by beautiful shrines, colorful prayer flags, and intricate carvings that tell the story of the village’s deep connection to the river. The queue is filled with details that reflect the natural beauty and spiritual significance of the surrounding environment, including the subtle sounds of running water and wildlife. You’ll also pass by displays highlighting the impact of deforestation, a theme that becomes central to the ride’s storyline. The shaded, open-air setting of the queue offers a cool respite from the Florida heat, but it can still get quite warm, especially during peak times. The theming, however, keeps you engaged as you approach the loading area.
The Ride
Kali River Rapids is a whitewater rafting adventure that takes you through the heart of the jungle, where the serene beauty of nature meets the untamed power of the river. The ride starts off gently, with your 12-passenger raft gliding along the river, offering scenic views of the lush landscape. But things soon take a turn as the river narrows and the rapids intensify. The raft twists and turns through churning waters, splashing over rocks, and plunging down small waterfalls. Along the way, you’ll encounter the remnants of deforestation, including charred trees and logging equipment, a stark reminder of the environmental challenges faced by the region. The ride’s highlight is a dramatic drop down a 30-foot slope, which sends a massive wave over the raft, guaranteeing that everyone on board will get soaked. The combination of thrills, environmental storytelling, and the unpredictability of where the water will hit makes Kali River Rapids a fun and refreshing experience.
The Ride Vehicle
The ride vehicle is a circular raft that seats up to 12 guests, with each person secured by a seatbelt. The raft’s design allows it to spin freely as it moves through the rapids, adding an extra layer of unpredictability to the ride. The seats are arranged in a circle, facing inward, so everyone gets a view of the action as the raft navigates the river.
There’s a small storage compartment in the center of the raft to keep your belongings pretty dry but be prepared for everything else to get thoroughly soaked. There is a footrail for your feet to keep them off the floor and your shoes dry.
Free Lockers are provided before you enter the queue.
Boarding and exiting the raft is easy, with wide steps leading into the vehicle, though it’s a good idea to hold onto the handrails as the raft can shift slightly as you board.
Rider Swap
Rider Swap is available at Kali River Rapids, making it convenient for families with younger children or anyone who prefers not to get wet. To use Rider Swap, just speak to a Cast Member at the entrance, and they’ll assist in setting up the swap so that everyone who wants to ride can do so without waiting in the regular line twice.
Accessibility
Kali River Rapids is accessible to guests with mobility challenges, though it requires a transfer from a wheelchair or scooter to the ride vehicle. The loading platform is designed to be level with the raft, making the transfer process easier, and Cast Members are on hand to assist as needed. Given the wet and wild nature of the ride, guests should be comfortable with the movement and the possibility of getting soaked during the transfer and the ride itself.
Height Requirement
Riders must be at least 38 inches tall to take on the rapids.
