A family-friendly new show inside the Tree of Life
Zootopia: Better Together! is a new indoor theater attraction located inside the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Replacing It’s Tough to be a Bug!, this experience brings the animated world of Zootopia into the park with humor, heart, and a message that fits naturally with Animal Kingdom’s themes of animals, conservation, and coexistence.
Designed to appeal to a broad age range, the show blends familiar characters, colorful visuals, and light sensory effects into an engaging experience beneath the park’s most iconic landmark.
The Queue
The queue for Zootopia: Better Together! takes guests beneath the Tree of Life, following the same underground pathway longtime visitors may remember from the previous attraction. As you move through the roots of the tree, the environment transitions from the natural world above into a playful, themed space inspired by the city of Zootopia.
The entire queue is indoors, shaded, and air-conditioned, making it a welcome break from Florida heat and a solid mid-day stop.
The Show
Once inside the theater, guests join familiar characters from Zootopia, including Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and other residents of the city, for a lively and humorous presentation. The show combines animated segments with in-theater effects to tell a story centered on working together and appreciating differences.
While it continues the tradition of being an energetic Tree of Life attraction, Zootopia: Better Together! takes a noticeably gentler approach than its predecessor. The tone is lighter, more welcoming, and intentionally designed to be comfortable for younger guests.
The Theater Experience
This is a seated indoor theater attraction with theatre-style seating. Visual effects and mild sensory elements are used throughout the show, but there are no intense jump scares or startling surprises. The emphasis is on storytelling, humor, and character-driven moments rather than shock effects.
Because it is fully indoors, this attraction is also a great option during rainstorms or when you need a cool, low-effort experience.
Accessibility
Zootopia: Better Together! is wheelchair accessible. Guests using wheelchairs or ECVs will be directed to designated seating areas within the theater.
Assistive listening devices and additional accessibility accommodations are available upon request. Guests should be able to remain seated for the duration of the show.
Height Requirement
There is no height requirement for Zootopia: Better Together!, making it suitable for guests of all ages.
Rider Swap
Rider Swap is not available for this attraction, as it is a seated theater show appropriate for all guests.
Is This Attraction Scary?
Compared to It’s Tough to be a Bug!, this show is significantly more kid-friendly. There are no sudden loud scares, poking effects, or intentionally frightening moments. Families with younger children or guests who prefer calmer attractions will likely find this a much more comfortable experience.
Wrap-Up
Zootopia: Better Together! marks a thoughtful update to one of Disney’s most recognizable attraction spaces. By replacing a more intense show with a warmer, character-driven experience, Disney has created an attraction that better aligns with modern family expectations while still fitting Animal Kingdom’s overall mission.
If you’re looking for an indoor attraction with air conditioning, familiar characters, and an easygoing pace, this new Tree of Life show is well worth adding to your day—especially when touring with younger kids.
