Step Back in Time for a Drink at This 1950s-Inspired Lounge
Tucked inside the nostalgic world of 50’s Prime Time Café, Tune-In Lounge is a hidden gem for those looking to sip on a cocktail while soaking in mid-century charm.
Often unofficially referred to as “Dad’s Lounge”—since “Mom” is busy serving up homestyle meals next door—this cozy bar is the perfect stop for a sip of old-fashioned hospitality. Whether you’re craving a classic mixed drink, a boozy milkshake, or just a fun place to unwind, this retro lounge delivers a taste of the good old days.
Location
📍 Hollywood Studios | Echo Lake
Tune-In Lounge is located inside 50’s Prime Time Café, near Echo Lake. While you don’t need a dining reservation to visit the lounge, you’ll get the same fun, nostalgic vibes as the restaurant!
Ambiance
Step into a 1950s living room, complete with vintage TVs playing black-and-white sitcoms, kitschy décor, and classic Formica countertops. The cozy bar area is small, but it’s full of personality, with bartenders who keep the fun going—sometimes even giving guests a little “mom-style” sass, just like the servers in 50’s Prime Time Café. The lounge serves as a waiting area for the restaurant. Whether you’re perched at the bar or taking your drink to-go, the warm, homey vibe makes it feel like a trip back in time.
Since reopening after the 2020 shutdown, you never know what the seating situation is going to be in this fan favorite!
Prior to the shutdown, they had a good complement of period living room furniture and barstools across the whole bar with a small walk-up area.
When they reopened, all the dining room furniture and barstools were removed, and the bar was walk-up only.
Some of the living room furniture returned after a while, but it was a whole 3 years before the barstools returned. Then most of the barstools disappeared again, leaving only 6. Later, a few more barstools showed back up, leaving the whole center section of the bar for walk-ups.
Drink Menu
Tune-In Lounge serves up classic cocktails, retro-inspired drinks, and specialty milkshakes that can be spiked for an extra treat. Some guest favorites include:
- Dad’s Electric Lemonade – A bright blue, citrusy mix of vodka, blue curaçao, and lemonade.
- Grandma’s Picnic Punch – A fruity, refreshing cocktail made with vodka, peach schnapps, and pineapple juice.
- PB&J Milkshake (Spiked!) – The famous peanut butter and jelly shake from 50’s Prime Time Café, made even better with a shot of peanut butter whiskey.
- Magical Star Cocktail – A glowing, tropical cocktail with coconut rum, pineapple juice, and a light-up souvenir cube.
- Assorted Classic Cocktails – Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, and other throwback drinks perfect for the retro theme.
Food Menu
While the lounge itself doesn’t serve food, you can sometimes order from the 50’s Prime Time Café menu if seating is available. Otherwise, grab a meal at the restaurant or enjoy your drink as a walk-up order.
Reservations
No reservations needed! Seating is first-come, first-served, but you can also take your drink to-go.
