Refreshment Port, as its name implies, it a quick little stand to order yourself a nice beverage either before you start your journey around the world or the last stop as you finish.

Located near the World Showcase entrance on the way to Canada this small quick-service stand features 2 things: beverages and poutine.
What is Poutine?
Poutine is a classic Canadian dish that originated in the province of Quebec in the late 1950s. It consists of three main ingredients:
- French Fries: Crispy, golden fries form the base of the dish.
- Cheese Curds: Fresh cheese curds are sprinkled over the fries. Sounds gross, but if you love cheese, then just ignore the word “curds”.
- Gravy: The final touch is a rich, savory gravy poured over the fries and cheese curds. The heat from the gravy causes the cheese curds to melt partially, resulting in a delightful combination of textures and flavors. Everything’s better with gravy.
In recent years, poutine has gained popularity outside of Canada and is now offered in various forms around the world, often with regional twists on the traditional recipe. At EPCOT’s Refreshment Port, you’ll find seasonal variations of poutine that showcase different ingredients and flavors. Let’s be honest, after an afternoon of fancy food at the festivals, some salty greasy goodness just hits the spot!
Seasonal Poutine at Refreshment Port
Oftentimes you won’t find regular classic poutine at Refreshment Port. This is EPCOT, nothing is basic. Instead, you will find seasonal twists on the classic. Here are just a few we have seen in the past:
- Thanksgiving Poutine – Stuffing (or dressing for you Southerners), gravy, cheese curds, and cranberry sauce all on top of french fries. It will make you rethink those old sandwiches you usually make with your Thanksgiving leftovers.
- Gumbo Poutine – Just as it sounds, Cajun gumbo with big pieces of shrimp and andouille sausage on top of steaming hot fries. It is HEAVY, but delicious. As long as you were sharing with a friend, it was great.
- Buffalo Poutine – Given its proximity to the Canadian border, this just makes sense to us. This version has chopped up Buffalo chicken and celery, and in bleu cheese curds in place of the traditional melty cheese curds.
Beverages
Of course Refreshment Port sells your typical bottled soda and water, but you’re not here for that. (You’re a savvy Disney guest, so you know to bring that with you into the park anyway to save $5). This little unassuming stand always features small brewery beer, local wine, and some type of cocktail. Whether you’re getting ready to start your global adventure of drinking around the world or just finishing it, these lighter options are always welcome.
Souvenir Sippers
Perhaps our main reason for stopping by Refreshment Port is that it is the home of whatever souvenir sipper EPCOT is promoting at the time. Typically, we see sippers during the festivals, like the International Flower and Garden festival where we have seen the Spike the Bee sippers, or Orange Bird during the Food and Wine Festival.
As you explore EPCOT’s World Showcase, be sure to make a stop at Refreshment Port to either begin or end your day. With its ever-changing styles of poutine and festive alcohol options, it’s a treat for your taste buds that will keep you coming back for more. And go on, let yourself have the cute little sipper!
