The Country Bear Jamboree is an attraction in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. It is a musical revue featuring a cast of audio-animatronic bears who perform country music.
The attraction is located in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom and originally opened on October 1, 1971, making it an opening day attraction. The show features a variety of musical numbers performed by the bears, including classic country songs like “The Ballad of Davy Crockett” and “Home on the Range.”
The Country Bear Jamboree has undergone a few changes over the years, including updates to the technology used to control the audio-animatronic figures. The show remains a popular attraction at the Magic Kingdom and is enjoyed by guests of all ages.
The Country Bear Jamboree features a number of audio-animatronic bear characters, each with their own distinct personalities and musical talents.
Some of the main characters include:
Big Al – a lovable but somewhat clumsy bear who performs a rendition of “Blood on the Saddle” and “The Ballad of Davy Crockett.”
Henry – the master of ceremonies who introduces each of the musical acts and keeps the show moving along.
Liver Lips McGrowl – a scrappy bear who plays the guitar and sings “Mama Don’t Whip Little Buford” and “My Woman Ain’t Pretty (But She Don’t Swear None).”
Wendell – a bear who plays the mandolin and performs “Frankie and Johnny” and “How Long Will My Baby Be Gone.”
Shaker – a female bear who plays the tambourine and sings “Tears Will Be the Chaser for Your Wine” and “All the Guys That Turn Me On Turn Me Down.”
Teddi Barra – a glamorous bear who performs “Heart, We Did All That We Could” and “For the First Time in Forever” (a song that predates the Frozen franchise).
The Five Bear Rugs – a group of bears who perform “Bear Band Serenade” and “Wringle Wrangle.”
Melvin, Buff, and Max – the three talking stuffed heads mounted over the exit.
Seating for this attraction is theatre style.
