The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is an under-appreciated gem in the Magic Kingdom.
Introduction to Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
📍 Magic Kingdom | Tomorrowland
Located in Tomorrowland, Monsters, Inc. is a laugh-filled theatre-style video experience that is sure to please!
Though it is often overlooked or treated as a “filler attraction” to pass the time in Tomorrowland, we’re here to tell you that it is so much more than that!
Coming all the way from Monstropolis, Mike Wazowski and friends are putting on a comedy show for human guests to gather their laughter. The story takes place after the movie Monsters Inc., when Mike and Sully discover that laughter is more powerful than screams. Now, they’re here in Orlando to gather the laugh energy to help Monstropolis with their energy crisis! And to appease Roz…
Queue Experience
There are short videos playing throughout the queue line encouraging guests to submit their favorite jokes via text message for use in the show. This is real! Send your best dad jokes in and they might just be used!
The queue is mainly indoors and winds in a maze-like fashion, but is not too tight. The final pre-show area of the queue is on an open ramp leading down to the show entrance and it can get somewhat tight as the cast members will tell guests to “fill in all available space.”
Guests who need mobility assistance will be taken to the front of the preshow area.
PRO-TIP: As soon as the pre-show starts, people will get a little pushy to be at the front… LET THEM. This is a theater attraction, so those who get in first get some of the worst seats all the way to the very end of the theater!
Attraction Overview
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is a live animated show, which means you are basically watching magic take place. Imagineers use rear projectors, live animation technology, and clever actors to make this attraction come to life.
The show starts with Mike Wazowski opening the comedy show and you will figure out quickly that this is not a fully scripted show! Some guests will be put in the spotlight during the show, or the Monster on stage might call out guests and bring them into the jokes. This is a fully interactive show that will bring a smile to your face! Plus, it’s in the air conditioning that is always welcomed!
Lightning Lane Information
Lightning Lanes are available for the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor for those that have purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass., however, we’re here to tell you that they really aren’t necessary. There isn’t usually a very long wait for this attraction, and generally, the wait is just waiting for the previous show to finish. Even if you have a Lightning Lane, you will still have to wait for the previous show to finish, so it makes more sense to make a reservation for an attraction with a longer line and just use the Standby queue for Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.
Favorite Jokes from the Show
What do you call a bear with no teeth? – A gummy bear!
What’s a pirate’s favorite letter? – Some think it’s RRRR but it’s the C they love!
What do you call a seagull living by the bay? – A bagel!
History of the Attraction
The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is housed in the original Disney World Circle-Vision 360-degree theatre (like the ones in EPCOT’s Canada and Japan), it is the former home of Magic Carpet ‘Round the World (1974), America the Beautiful (1975-1993), Timekeeper (1993-2007).

Effects/Sensory Warning None Warning: You might get singled out on the big screen and maybe asked a question or two. |
As is standard practice in all Disney theatre attractions, the cast will ask you to select a row and move all the way to the end, not plopping down in the middle of the row. Do what they say, this is so others do not have to try to get by you to fill the empty seats past you as the theatre fills. If you want to sit in the middle of a row, wait to the side for a bit and allow one to fill about halfway before you enter it.
