Embark on a Daring Journey to Villains Land at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
Once upon a nightmare… A place where poison apples are aplenty and magic potions can ruin your whole day. For all those things hiding in the shadows, it’s time to join them as we lift the veil on a forthcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
The Ambiance of Villains Land
This new land will be home to the Disney Villains we know and loathe from our favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios classic films — “Which means happily ever after may feel like just a distant dream.”
The evil ambition of all these Villains means that the possibilities are endless for the stories that can be told — and visitors to the dark and thorny land should be prepared for whatever chaos might come their way.
Attractions, Dining, and Shopping in Villains Land
Inspired by the wicked characters fans know and loathe, the multi-acre expansion will include two major attractions, plus dining and shopping.
The Magic Kingdom Layout
The location of the new Villains Land is speculation so far, but Disney has said,, “…guests will be able to venture Beyond Big Thunder Mountain into an all-new land dedicated to Disney Villains.”
The image below depicts available land “beyond” Big Thunder Mountain.
The area I’ve highlighted id Big and the actual land use could be smaller. I’m just trying to show what’s available. Most of the highlighted area is outside the Magic Kingdom Railroad tracks that runs between the 2 waterways in the image (closer to the existing park). Construction here will probably necessitate shutting down the railroad again as they did when building Tron outside the tracks.
Also I assume the new land will give the firing location of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks a wide berth, shown by the fireworks bang in the pic.
Villains Land will be added on to the back of the park behind Big Thunder Mountain in Frontierland and possibly behind some of Liberty Square (Haunted Mansion area).
Villains Land will connect to:
- Frontierland to the left of Thunder Mountain and possibly also to the new Cars section of Frontierland.
- Liberty Square possibly to the left of the Haunted Mansion
Wrap-Up
Be prepared, you poor unfortunate souls, it’s going to be a fearless new vision for what a Disney experience can be.
You might have just felt a shiver run down your spine. That’s because preparation is already underway at Magic Kingdom for this new land. Maybe think twice before you indulge in that next shiny red apple…
