If you’re someone who loves a well-done classic cheeseburger and diving into all things behind the scenes of movies, shows, and Hollywood gossip, you should try out Backlot Express.
Menu
Backlot Express has a traditional theme park menu that includes classic American fare such as cheeseburgers, chicken strips, and plant-based burgers, as well as healthier options like salads and fruit cups.
Slow down! Don’t run away! These are not high school cafeteria cheeseburgers. Backlot Express manages to serve fast, affordable cheeseburgers that are delicious.
One of the highlights of the menu is the Wookiee Cookie, a sweet treat that pays homage to Chewbacca with its oatmeal cookie sandwich that gives us Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie vibes.
Mobile Express
For added convenience, Backlot Express, like many Quick Service Restaurants offers mobile ordering through the My Disney Experience app. You can scroll through the menu, make selections and customizations, and even set a specific time to pick up your order from anywhere.
The best part? That you can walk past all of those people waiting in the line and waltz right to the front of the pick-up line!
Themeing
Disney is all about a theme, and Backlot Express is no different. Since Disney’s Hollywood Studios has an overall theme of the Golden Age of Hollywood and the movie industry, it just makes sense to have a location themed to the behind the scenes area.
Designed to resemble a working studio’s prop and costume warehouse, the restaurant is filled with movie-making paraphernalia. Guests can dine among vintage film cameras, set pieces, and various props that make you feel like you are just steps away from an old school movie set.
The decor includes detailed murals and signs that add to the immersive experience, making diners feel as though they are part of the filmmaking process.
