Step into a galaxy far, far away! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park transports guests to the remote world of Batuu, where the stories, characters, and sounds of Star Wars come to life. Set in the bustling frontier town of Black Spire Outpost, this 14-acre land is a living, breathing world filled with smugglers, Resistance fighters, First Order troopers, and travelers from every corner of the galaxy.

Every building, sound, and interaction is crafted to make you feel like you’ve truly stepped into the Star Wars universe—not as a spectator, but as a participant. You’ll explore a working spaceport filled with docking bays, cantinas, and market stalls, while alien languages echo in the background and droids roll past. This isn’t just a themed land—it’s a fully immersive experience that invites you to live your own Star Wars adventure.

Attractions

  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (H40) (LL Multi) – Join the Resistance in a daring escape from the First Order aboard a Star Destroyer. This massive, multi-part attraction uses multiple ride systems, realistic sets, and more than 50 animatronic figures to deliver one of the most ambitious Disney experiences ever created. You’ll encounter Kylo Ren and the First Order face-to-face in a spectacular battle for freedom.
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (H38) (LL Multi) – Climb into the cockpit of the fastest ship in the galaxy and take on a smuggling mission for Hondo Ohnaka. Each guest takes a role—pilot, gunner, or engineer—and the outcome of your mission depends on your crew’s teamwork and skill. It’s one of the most interactive ride experiences Disney has ever built.

Dining

  • Oga’s Cantina (B, L, D, $$) – A lively watering hole run by Oga Garra herself. Enjoy out-of-this-world cocktails, mocktails, and snacks while DJ R-3X (a familiar face from Star Tours) spins galactic tunes. This is one of the few places in Disneyland Park where alcohol is served. Reservations are required, and visits are limited to 45 minutes.
  • Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (B, L, D, $$) – Counter Service – Mobile Order. Inside a working hangar bay, travelers refuel with dishes like Endorian Fried Chicken Tip-Yip, Batuuan Beef Stir-Fry, and plant-based Felucian Kefta. Seating is shaded and full of creative details that make you feel like you’re dining among off-world pilots.
  • Ronto Roasters (B, L, D, $) – Counter Service – Mobile Order. Powered by a repurposed podracing engine, this popular stand serves the famous Ronto Wrap—a roasted pork and grilled sausage creation wrapped in warm pita.
  • Milk Stand (S, $) – Counter Service. Try the iconic Blue Milk or Green Milk, two frozen, fruit-based beverages made famous in the films. Both are non-dairy, plant-based, and available with or without alcohol.
  • Kat Saka’s Kettle (S, $) – Counter Service. This vibrant stall offers Outpost Mix, a sweet and spicy popcorn blend unique to Batuu—a colorful, crunchy snack perfect for your galactic adventures.

Shopping

  • Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities – A treasure trove of Jedi and Sith relics, ancient artifacts, and rare Star Wars collectibles curated by the mysterious Ithorian trader, Dok-Ondar.
  • Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers – Guided by secret “Gatherers,” you’ll craft your own custom lightsaber in a ceremonial experience that feels straight out of Jedi legend. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
  • Droid Depot – Assemble your own custom BB-series or R-series droid companion from dozens of parts, colors, and accessories. Your droid will even interact with the land as you explore.
  • Creature Stall – Adopt an exotic pet from across the galaxy, such as a porg, loth-cat, or tauntaun. Each creature has lifelike movements and sounds.
  • Toydarian Toymaker – Visit Zabaka the Toydarian’s shop to find handcrafted-style toys, plush figures, and wooden souvenirs inspired by Star Wars characters and ships.
  • Black Spire Outfitters – Apparel and robes for all walks of life—whether you’re a Jedi, Resistance fighter, or loyal to the First Order.

Ambiance & History

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019, it marked a new chapter in Disney storytelling—one that blended cinematic world-building with interactive immersion. Set in the Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, the land is a crossroads between the Resistance and the First Order during the sequel trilogy era.

The environment is alive with motion and sound. Ships roar overhead. Stormtroopers patrol. Rey and Chewbacca can be spotted rallying new Resistance recruits, while Kylo Ren leads First Order patrols near his command shuttle. Cast Members stay in character as Batuu residents, using local greetings like “Bright Suns!” (good day) and “Til the Spire!” (farewell). To deepen your immersion, the Play Disney Parks app turns your phone into a Datapad, letting you hack panels, scan cargo, and tune into transmissions as you choose allegiances—Resistance, First Order, or the underworld.

Speak like a local — Batuuan Basics: “Bright Suns” (good day), “Rising Moons” (good evening), “Til the Spire” (goodbye), “May the Spires Keep You” (farewell/blessing).

At night, Galaxy’s Edge glows with an ethereal blue light and the hum of starship engines, creating one of the most atmospheric and cinematic scenes in all of Disneyland Park.

Disneyland Park Layout

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge occupies the back-left portion of Disneyland Park and features multiple access points, making it easy to enter from different areas depending on your touring strategy.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is connected to:

  • Frontierland via the main entrance near Big Thunder Mountain
  • Fantasyland via the entrance near the Fantasyland / Frontierland edge
  • Bayou Country via the back-side entrance near Rise of the Resistance

Wrap-Up

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park is more than a themed land—it’s a fully realized world where guests live their own Star Wars story. Whether you’re piloting the Millennium Falcon, exploring ancient Jedi relics, or sipping blue milk beneath the spires, every moment pulls you deeper into the saga.

Differences Between Coasts: While both Galaxy’s Edge lands share nearly identical attractions, shops, and dining, there are subtle distinctions. The Disneyland version features slightly tighter pathways and a single entrance to Oga’s Cantina, while the Walt Disney World version connects between Grand Avenue and Toy Story Land. Both offer alcoholic drinks in Oga’s Cantina, but Disneyland’s is one of the few locations within its park to do so. Otherwise, the experience is nearly identical—making Batuu the one Star Wars planet you can truly visit on either coast.
