Heads up, military foodies! Space 220 in EPCOT offers a 15% military discount at both the Restaurant and the Lounge.
Below you’ll find what’s included, who’s eligible, exactly how to redeem it, and smart tips to make the most of your visit—without turning this into a full dining review (we already have a separate Space 220 overview page for that).
Quick Look
- Discount: 15% off (typically food and non-alcoholic beverages)
- Where: Space 220 Restaurant and Lounge, EPCOT
- When to Ask: Tell your server before ordering and show valid military ID
- Usual Exclusions: Alcohol, tax, gratuity, special events; cannot be combined with other offers
- Park Entry: EPCOT admission (and park reservation if required on your date) is still required
Who’s Eligible?
Space 220’s 15% military discount is intended for eligible U.S. Military guests. In practice, most Disney-area dining military offers recognize Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Retired service members with valid ID. Many locations also extend eligibility to spouses/dependents with a valid dependent ID, and some will honor veterans with proof (e.g., a state veteran ID or DD-214). Availability and interpretation can vary by manager. When in doubt, politely ask and bring documentation.
Bring With You:
- Valid U.S. Military ID (or dependent ID)
- Backup proof if applicable (e.g., state veteran ID or DD-214)
What the 15% Covers (and What It Doesn’t)
In most cases the 15% is applied to food and non-alcoholic beverages only. It usually does not apply to alcohol, prix fixe add-ons, special menus/events, tax, or gratuity. Always verify details with your server before you order so there are no surprises at checkout.
How to Redeem the Discount
- Mention the discount early. When seated, let your server know you’ll be using a military discount.
- Show your ID. Present valid military or dependent identification; some locations will honor veteran proof—ask.
- Confirm the details. Ask what the discount covers today (food only, any exclusions, etc.).
- Tip as usual. Gratuity is calculated on the pre-discount total in good form.
Restaurant vs. Lounge: What’s the Difference?
- Restaurant: Traditional table seating; historically prix fixe for lunch/dinner (verify current format). ADRs may go fast.
- Lounge: More flexible bites and drinks; a great alternative if you can’t snag a restaurant reservation. Same building, same “space elevator” experience, typically the same 15% for eligible guests.
Tip: If you don’t see ADRs in Disney’s system, check the same-day walk-up list for the Lounge. It often has better day-of availability.
Reservation Strategy
- Disney ADRs: Use the My Disney Experience app or disneyworld.com at your eligible booking window.
- Same-Day Options: Try the Lounge walk-up list if the restaurant is booked.
Pro Tips to Maximize Your Savings
- Stack the right way: Disney dining discounts typically don’t stack. Choose the best one and confirm which yields the bigger savings for your party size and order.
- Pay with discounted Disney gift cards: If you’ve bought Disney gift cards at a discount (e.g., warehouse clubs during promos), you can effectively layer those savings with the 15% off at the table.
- Disney Visa Rewards: Use your Disney Visa on everyday spending to build up Disney Rewards Dollars—then apply those Rewards toward your dining total. (Note: Space 220’s military discount generally cannot be combined with a separate Visa dining percentage discount, but you can still pay with Rewards.)
- Tell your server first: Mentioning the discount up front prevents awkward reprints at the end.
Know Before You Go
- Policies change: Restaurant discounts can change without notice. Consider calling day-of to reconfirm.
- Admission still required: You’ll need valid EPCOT admission (and any required reservation) to dine here.
- Party coverage: Most Disney-area military dining discounts apply to the member’s check and can extend to everyone on that check—ask how your server handles it.
FAQs
Does the Lounge also offer 15%?
Yes—historically the same 15% applies in the Lounge for eligible guests. Verify on arrival.
Is alcohol discounted?
Generally no. Most offers exclude alcoholic beverages, tax, and gratuity.
Can I combine this with a Disney Visa percentage discount?
Typically no—restaurant offers don’t stack. You can still pay with Disney Rewards Dollars or discounted Disney gift cards to compound savings on your net out-of-pocket.
Do I need to show my ID every time?
Yes. Bring valid military or dependent ID. Veterans should bring acceptable proof if available; acceptance can vary by location/manager.
Disclaimer: Discount amounts, eligibility, and exclusions can change at any time. Always confirm on arrival. This post focuses on the 15% military discount details only; see our separate Space 220 overview page for menu, ambiance, and full dining coverage.
