Think of it as “AP-lite” for eligible service members and families: tons of park days all year, but without the extra perks you’d associate with a regular Annual Pass (no free parking, no in-park merch/food discounts, and no AP-exclusive benefits). This ticket is just like Universal Orlando’s Freedom Pass.

Below, we’ll break down pricing, blockouts and validity, reservation rules, activation, what’s included/excluded, and how it stacks up against the classic 6-Day Salute tickets and Disney’s Annual Passes. We’ll also show you how it compares to Universal Orlando’s year-long Freedom Pass.

2026 Prices

Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket (NEW for 2026)

  • Park Hopper: $499
  • Park Hopper Plus: $529

Traditional 2026 Disney Military Salute Tickets

(Park Hopper / Park Hopper Plus)

  • 6-Day: $449 / $479
  • 5-Day: $429 / $459
  • 4-Day: $409 / $439

One price for ages 3+; under 3 are free.

Blockouts & Validity

  • Blockout dates (2026): March 29 – April 11, 2026, and November 22 – 28, 2026
  • Offer end date (validity cutoff): December 19, 2026 (unused entitlements expire at the end of the offer window)

Note: The “offer end date” isn’t a blockout. It’s the final day the ticket is valid for use in 2026.

Who’s Eligible?

Eligible Service Members: Active or retired U.S. Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force), National Guard, Reservists, Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS), and NOAA. Spouses of eligible members qualify with a valid and active U.S. Military ID.

Where to Buy (and How to Save Sales Tax)

  • Base Ticket Offices (ITT/Leisure Travel) and the Shades of Green Ticket Office: typically no tax.
  • Walt Disney World ticket windows: sales tax applies.
  • Actual base pricing can be slightly lower than the published list.

Activation, Use, and Reservation Holds

This new ticket is part of the Disney Armed Forces Salute ticklet fam,ily and has all of the same rules. These include activation, one used by the member or spouse, and a max of 6 Salute tickets (of any type) per member.

  • Activation required: The Eligible Service Member or spouse must activate the tickets at a WDW ticket window with a valid ID before first use.
  • Quantity limit: Up to 6 total Salute-category tickets per eligible member/spouse household (combined). If the member or spouse already holds a valid WDW Annual Pass at purchase and at use, the total purchaseable Salute tickets for guests drops to 5.
  • Use by the member or spouse required: The Eligible Service Member or spouse must use one of the tickets. If the member or spouse has a Disney World Annual Pass, they do not need to use one of these tickets, but the maximum number of tickets would then be reduced to 5.
  • Same-person use: Each ticket is non-transferable once first used; the same person must use it on all days.
  • Park Reservations: Disney Celebrates America ticket holders may hold up to 5 theme-park reservations at a time on a rolling basis.

What’s Included vs. Not Included

  • Included: Year-style admission during the 2026 offer window (subject to blockouts). Park Hopping every day you enter (Plus adds water parks & more).
  • Not included: Free parking, in-park merchandise or dining discounts, AP-exclusive benefits, or bundled PhotoPass. (You can still buy Memory Maker separately if you want trip photos.)
  • Lightning Lane: Not bundled. At WDW, add Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Lightning Lane Single Pass day-by-day in the app.

Value Math: When to Choose Which Ticket

Disney Celebrates America Ticket ($499/$529) vs. 6-Day Salute ($449/$479)

  • One long trip of 6+ park days (or multiple trips in 2026): the Disney Celebrates America ticket is only $50 more than the 6-Day. If you’ll use a seventh day—or come back later in the year—it’s the easy winner.
  • Shorter trips (4–5 park days) in 2026: the 4- or 5-Day Salute saves you money vs. the new ticket.
  • Water park plans: compare Park Hopper vs. Hopper Plus on both products; Hopper Plus adds extra admissions beyond theme parks.

Disney Celebrates America Ticket vs. Disney Annual Passes

  • Price: The new military ticket sits far below the price of most WDW AP tiers available to non-Florida residents (and even below some Florida/DVC tiers). If your goal is maximum admission days for the least cash, it’s outstanding.
  • Perks trade-off: APs can include benefits like free standard parking (huge if you drive each visit) and merch/food discounts. The new military ticket does not include these. If you’ll pay for parking every visit and buy lots of merch/meals in-park, run the totals; an AP + parking perk can out-value the Salute product for frequent drivers.
  • Reservations: The 5-hold rolling rule on the new ticket is generous for planning multiple visits without the AP price tag. However, for trips longer than 5 days, you’ll have to wait to use a park visit before making the 6th reservation(if available).

Best For / Not For

  • Best for: On-site resort stays (no daily parking cost), fly-in families, multiple short trips in 2026, or one big 7+ day trip.
  • Not ideal for: Locals who drive/park often and rely on AP dining/merch discounts and parking savings.

The Fine Print (Key Rules to Know)

  • Up to 6 total Disney Celebrates America + Disney Military Salute tickets per eligible member/spouse household; if the member or spouse holds a valid AP at purchase and use, 5 guest tickets may be purchased instead of 6.
  • Tickets must be activated in person by the eligible member or spouse with valid ID before first use.
  • Each ticket is for the same person on all days once first used; non-transferable; non-refundable.
  • Purchase at a base or Shades of Green often avoids sales tax; WDW ticket windows charge tax.
  • Park reservations: up to 5 holds at a time on a rolling basis for the new 2026 ticket.

Quick Trip Examples

  • 7–8 park days in June + quick December weekend: New Disney Celebrates America ticket wins big over a 6-Day Salute.
  • Four park days in May only: 4-Day Salute is the budget pick.
  • Two separate 3–4 day trips (spring + fall): New ticket usually wins (watch blockouts).
  • Drive/park 12+ day trips with heavy in-park spending: Price out an AP (parking + discounts) vs. the new ticket; AP may edge out on perks value.

Disney’s 2026 Military Ticket vs. Universal Orlando Freedom Pass

Short version: Disney’s new 2026 product is essentially a “year-style” admission for eligible military—very similar in concept to Universal Orlando’s Freedom Pass that’s been around for years. Here’s how they compare at a glance:

Feature Disney Celebrates America (2026) Universal Orlando Freedom Pass (current program)
Core Idea Year-style admission for 2026 (blockouts apply), 5 rolling reservations Unlimited admission all year (blockouts apply)
Typical Price Level $499 (PH) / $529 (PH+) Historically much lower (e.g., low-$200s for 2-Park / mid-$200s for 3-Park in recent offers)
Included Parks All four WDW theme parks; Plus adds water parks & more 2-Park (USF + IOA) or 3-Park (+ Volcano Bay). Epic Universe not included in the Freedom Pass (separate 1-day add-ons have been offered)
Parking & Discounts No free parking; no AP-style merch/food discounts No free parking; no AP-style discounts
Activation Eligible member/spouse must activate at WDW with valid ID Eligible member/spouse must activate at Universal Pass Sales with valid ID & accompany on first use
Purchase Limit Up to 6 total per eligible member/spouse household (5 if member/spouse has a WDW AP) Up to 6 per eligible person; member and spouse typically each have their own eligibility (location rules may apply)
Where to Buy Base Ticket Offices, Shades of Green, or WDW ticket windows (tax at windows) Base Ticket Offices (incl. Shades of Green / Orlando ITT) or via military-savvy travel agent; not sold at the gate

Bottom line: Universal’s Freedom Pass remains the cheapest year-style admission in Orlando for eligible military—especially the 3-Park version if you’ll use Volcano Bay. Disney’s new ticket costs more, but it opens the door to a lot more WDW days than the traditional 4/5/6-Day Salute tickets and can crush the math if you’re planning 7+ park days or multiple trips in 2026.

Pro Tips

  • On-site stays shine: If you’re not paying to park every day, the lack of a parking perk matters less—tilting value toward the new Disney ticket. Contact my recommended Disney Travel Agent to check Disney Resort Prices: The Mouse Experts – Military Disney Vacation Specialists
  • Stack with room discounts: Pair the ticket with Disney Armed Forces Salute room rates (availability limited; blockouts apply) or stay at Shades of Green.
  • Mind blockouts: Spring Break and Thanksgiving week are blocked on Disney’s 2026 ticket. Plan outside those windows and before the December 19, 2026, validity cutoff.
  • Lightning Lane budget: Since it’s not included, decide on Multi Pass/Single Pass day-by-day based on crowd levels and priorities.

New Theme Park Verification Step for 2026

Beginning in 2026, Disney World now requires the Eligible Service Member or spouse to be present with their guests for the first day Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets are used for theme park entry. After this one-time verification, guests may enter independently for the rest of the trip. Full details are explained here: Disney World’s New 2026 Verification Rule for Salute Tickets.

Quick FAQ

Does the new 2026 ticket include free parking or in-park discounts?
No. It’s admission-focused—no parking perk and no merch/food discounts.

Is this just an Annual Pass by another name?
No. It’s AP-like in the sense of frequent use across the year, but it omits classic AP perks and follows Salute-style eligibility/activation rules.

Can I still buy the 4/5/6-Day Salute instead?
Yes. If you only need 4–6 park days in 2026, those remain your cheapest options.

What if I already have a WDW Annual Pass?
Households where the eligible member or spouse holds a valid AP at purchase/use can buy up to 5 Salute-category tickets for guests (instead of 6).

Universal Orlando Resort’s Freedom Pass (Current Program Overview)

The following section summarizes Universal’s Freedom Pass to help you compare options. It’s a separate program with its own rules, prices, and dates.

The 2025 Universal Orlando Resort Freedom Pass

Freedom Passes are unlimited-use, year-style tickets (not full APs) without free parking or in-park discounts. They come in 2-Park (USF + IOA) and 3-Park (+ Volcano Bay) versions. Epic Universe is not included (1-day add-ons have been offered).

Recent price examples: 2-Park around the low-$200s; 3-Park mid-$200s for the whole year (historically an exceptional value). Blockouts and eligibility rules apply. Buy at Base Ticket Offices (incl. Shades of Green/Orlando ITT) or via a military-savvy travel agent; not sold at Universal’s gates.

Who should pick Freedom Pass? If you’ll spend multiple days at Universal (especially with Volcano Bay) and won’t miss AP parking/discounts, it’s often the cheapest way to get a lot of Universal time in a year.

Bottom Line

If you’ve ever wished your Salute ticket stretched across more of the year, the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket is the answer. For families planning 7+ park days or multiple trips in 2026—and who aren’t paying to park every visit—this can beat both the 6-Day Salute and the cost of most Annual Pass options. Just plan around March 29–April 11 and November 22–28 blockouts, and remember the December 19, 2026 validity cutoff.

This is great information. Thank you so much. Just some clarity on one topic. Can the America Salute ticket be used with friends or just family? I know the 4, 5 and 6 day tickets can be used with friends..

Thanks for the info! Any idea about this situation? I am the spouse and taking my 2 kids in January. My husband (retired) will not be going on this trip so I only purchased 3 passes. I was told on base that he cannot purchase one for himself if he goes at a later date because they all have to be activated at the same time? Is that correct, any idea?

      Hi Nicole, glad to help!

      That is totally incorrect!

Multiple purchases and activations of the Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets are allowed up to the 6 per member limit for the offer period.

If they won’t sell him one there, he can always get one long distance.

Yep, no way to know at this point. Veteran’s day 2026 (or near that time) would be when we’ll find out.

I want to make sure I understand what you said to Nicole. I’m retired, and I would be bringing myself, my wife, and one of our grandchildren. The day that we are leaving, one of our adult “kids” will be coming with his wife and kids. I should be able to get their tickets activated the day they arrive (before we leave) without any problem, right?

This is for the Celebrates America pass.

    TIA

      Hi Jeremy,

Multiple activations have always been allowed; the fine print is that you need a Salute ticket with at least 1 day on it in order to do subsequent activations.

With this new pass-like Salute ticket, you’ll always have a day left on it, so activating a second batch before you leave should be no problem.

I do have to note that we are in uncharted territory with the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket and this is how I think it should work.

    Hi Steve!
Any thoughts how the Hopper Plus will for Waterparks/Mini golf work with the America Salute Ticket? Will it just be any park (w reservation) or any waterpark/mini golf as long as not on a blackout date?
Additional, once activated all together on first trip, do you believe that family can use the tickets on future trips with out the military member if/when traveling separately? We have bought grandma a Salute ticket for use with us for years. If she travels on a solo trip w the America Salute ticket later on do you anticipate any issues?

      Hi there Amy,

Yes, that’s how I expect it to work, unless WDW puts some limit on the number of plus options (but right now I don’t think so).

From what I’ve seen from WDW, I do believe that she will be able to use it without the member/spouse after that tapstile ID check on initial use.

Hi, Steve, This is a tangental comment on getting tickets, but kudos to you for sharing information in the past about getting tickets long distance. Because of unexpected winter weather, we couldn’t get to a base MWR to buy tickets. Shades of Green now suggests applying a month in advance for receiving tickets. We loved that Shades activates tickets so that we don’t have to stand in line at a ticket window, but we didn’t have that month to wait if we wanted to reserve parks, dining, etc. So, we tried Patrick SFB as you suggest. They were great!. They were so fast and sent tickets electronically via email and a link. They don’t activate tickets like Shades, but when speed matters and you can’t get to a base, they are awesome. You saved our trip. Thanks!

Yep, you summed it up perfectly. The time matters, Patrick is great!.

I, personally have waited 3 weeks for Shades to reach back to me for payment and fulfillment after submitting my form.

    Question about upgrading:
Reading the site, it seems like you can upgrade from a days of use pass to more days for just the price difference (~$20 to add days 5-6 for example)

Do you know if you are able to upgrade from a days of use pass to the celebrate America unlimited days pass?

    Thank you!

      Hi Kat,

There is no definitive answer from Disney in print, but I’ve been covering the Salute tickets for over 16 years. And upgrading to the full gate price plus tax at Disney has always been an option. The Disney Celebrates America Salute Ticket (what many are calling a Pass) is a Salute ticket, so I believe an upgrade is possible.
