Comparing the 2025 and 2026 Walt Disney World Armed Forces Salute Room Offers
The Walt Disney World Armed Forces Salute room discountArmed Forces Salute room discount is one of the most valuable benefits available to eligible U.S. service members and their families.
While the offer structure remains similar from year to year, the exact date windows, blockouts, resort exclusions, and discount percentages often change.
Because these discounts are based on availability and can vary by season, understanding how the 2026 offer compares to the 2025 offer can help you plan more strategically.
Offer Validity Windows
Both offers are available for most nights of their respective calendar years, but the specific date windows are not identical. If you traditionally travel in the spring or around Thanksgiving, pay close attention to blockout periods, which shift slightly from year to year.
- 2025 Room Discount Valid Travel Window: January 1 – December 19, 2025 (blockouts apply)
- 2026 Room Discount Valid Travel Window: January 1 – December 19, 2026 (blockouts apply)
Functionally, these windows are the same. No real difference here.
Blockout Periods
The blockout periods follow the same seasonal pattern in both years: Easter/Spring Break and Thanksgiving Week. However, the exact dates shift slightly each year based on calendar alignment.
- 2025 Room Blockouts: April 13–26, 2025, and November 23–29, 2025
- 2026 Room Blockouts: March 29 through April 11, 2026, June 1 through August 31, 2026, and November 22 through November 28, 2026
This is standard and expected. If your plans fall inside these windows, Shades of Green will usually be the better lodging option.
Discount Percentages
Both years continue the tiered “up to” discount structure. However, the actual percentage you receive may vary based on:
- Resort category (Value, Moderate, Deluxe, Deluxe Villa)
- Time of year
- Room type availability
- Demand
It’s important to remember that “up to” means discounts may be lower than the maximum published rate. Disney allocates only a certain number of discounted rooms per category — and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Resort & Room Exclusions
Some resort categories and room types continue to be excluded entirely in both years. These typically include:
- The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
- 3-Bedroom Grand Villas
- Most suite categories across Moderate and Deluxe Resorts
Additionally, certain resorts are periodically excluded from the military discount based on construction schedules, capacity management, and pricing strategies.
For 2025, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach were excluded. For 2026, they are not!
How Many Rooms Can You Reserve
Both offers allow up to 3 rooms on one reservation, but the eligible service member or spouse must occupy one of the rooms. Availability is always limited, especially at Deluxe Resorts and during holiday-adjacent travel dates.
My Recommendation for Booking
The most effective way to secure the best rate is to book early and then continue checking back for newly released room allocations. Because Disney releases discounted rooms in waves, availability may improve later even if it initially appears sold out.

It’s a special hotel discount offered to eligible U.S. military members and spouses at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. The discount varies by resort category and time of year.
How did the offer change from 2025 to 2026?
The overall structure is the same, but the eligible travel windows and blockout dates shifted. Some resort exclusions may differ as well, depending on availability and Disney inventory management.

The room discount is not available from March 29 through April 11, 2026, June 1 through August 31, 2026, and November 22 through November 28, 2026.
Can I book more than one room?
