Hidden Drink Spots in EPCOT’s World Showcase Most Guests Miss

21 February 2026 by Steve Bell Leave a Comment

Step off the main walkway, and you’ll uncover drink locations in World Showcase that most guests never realize are there.

EPCOT’s World Showcase is famous for its pubs, cocktail lounges, and high-profile dining locations — and for many guests, those marquee spots become the default when planning where to grab a drink. But tucked deeper inside several pavilions are lesser-known counters and walk-up locations that most visitors simply pass by without realizing what they offer.

These aren’t “secret bars” in the literal sense. Disney isn’t hiding them behind passwords or concealed doors. Instead, they’re easy to overlook because they sit off the main promenade, blend into merchandise locations, or lack obvious signage. That makes them perfect discoveries for guests who enjoy exploring the pavilions beyond the main pathways — and especially useful for travelers who want shorter lines, quieter atmospheres, or simply something different from the standard stops.

Here are four hidden drink spots worth seeking out — plus a nod to one that longtime visitors may remember from years past.

Morocco — Sangria Sips

Deep inside the Morocco pavilion’s souk courtyard sits one of the most atmospheric hidden drink spots in all of World Showcase. Sangria Sips isn’t obvious from the promenade — the only hint of its presence is a small sign out front — and many guests never wander far enough into the pavilion to discover it.

Those who do are rewarded with a setting that feels intentionally removed from the park’s main energy. The covered courtyard offers shade, decorative tilework, textured walls, and seating areas that invite you to slow down. The nearby Henna artist adds an authentic cultural touchpoint that enhances the environment rather than distracting from it.

The menu includes:

  • Sangria by the glass or shareable carafe
  • Mediterranean beer
  • Orange juice and bottled water
  • Roasted seasoned chickpeas
  • Mixed nuts, dates, and Mediterranean olives

This is less of a “quick drink and go” location and more of a relaxed pause point — ideal when you want a break from sun and foot traffic. Among the hidden spots listed here, this one arguably delivers the strongest ambiance experience.

Germany — Weinkeller

Most guests entering the Germany pavilion gravitate toward the central Platz, the Biergarten, the visible beer stand, or the beer cart. But at the rear left of the square sits Weinkeller, a small room with a wine counter that quietly offers a different experience from the more visible options nearby.

The Weinkeller focuses on numerous German wine selections:

  • Red wines
  • White wines
  • Dessert wines
  • Bottles available for purchase

Two standing-height tables inside provide a space to enjoy your selection without stepping back out into the platz.

Because it sits outside the visual focal point of the pavilion, Weinkeller often remains uncrowded. For wine enthusiasts — or guests simply looking for something other than beer — it’s one of the most rewarding discoveries in the area.

China — Pavilion Exit Counter

Inside the very rear of The House of Good Fortune merchandise location, near where guests exit the pavilion’s Circle-Vision film attraction, Reflections of China, sits another easy-to-miss refreshment counter. It lacks prominent signage, and its menu presentation doesn’t clearly distinguish it as a named destination — making it particularly invisible to guests who are simply passing through the shop.

Those who notice it will find:

  • Plum wine
  • Bottled Chinese beers including Tsingtao and Lucky Buddha
  • Tea and bubble tea
  • Bottled water

Like the Canada location, this counter is typically uncrowded. Its position away from promenade visibility means it rarely attracts impulse traffic, making it an excellent fallback when nearby locations are busy. To find it, just keep heading all the way into the China Pavilion’s walkway and enter the building.

A Nod to the Past — Hidden Spots That Have Disappeared

One of the realities of discovering lesser-known locations in EPCOT’s World Showcase is that they don’t always last. Because many of these counters operate quietly within merchandise spaces or secondary areas, they can change or disappear without much notice.

Canada — Trading Post Refreshments

Until very recently, guests could find bottled Canadian beer, wine, and soft drinks at the Trading Post Refreshments counter tucked into the rear of the Canada pavilion’s merchandise shop. With minimal visibility from the promenade, it was one of the most overlooked drink stops in World Showcase.

As of this week (on 20 Feb. 2026), the counter has officially closed. While its quiet convenience will be missed by those who knew where to look, its existence serves as a reminder that some of EPCOT’s most interesting discoveries are temporary.

Japan — Former Sake Counter

Longtime EPCOT visitors may also remember a small sake counter once located at the rear left of the Japan pavilion’s merchandise shop. It offered Japanese sake in a similarly tucked-away setting, rewarding guests who explored beyond the main walkways.

That location quietly disappeared within the past year and was converted into a standard merchandise checkout area. While no longer part of the pavilion’s drink lineup, it remains part of the evolving story of hidden drink spots throughout World Showcase.

These changes highlight why it’s worth exploring — and appreciating — these out-of-the-way experiences when you find them.

Tips for Finding Hidden Drink Spots

  • Explore merchandise spaces instead of bypassing them
  • Walk deeper into pavilion courtyards and side paths
  • Check the rear exits of attractions
  • Look beyond promenade-facing signage
  • Slow your touring pace occasionally

Wrap-Up / Final Thoughts

EPCOT’s World Showcase offers no shortage of iconic drink locations, but some of the most interesting options aren’t the most visible. Whether it’s a tucked-away refreshment counter in Canada, a shaded courtyard in Morocco, a wine stop off Germany’s main square, or an unmarked counter in China, these locations reward curiosity and exploration.

They may not be secret — but they’re close enough that many guests walk right past them every day.

Where can you find hidden drink spots in EPCOT’s World Showcase?

Some of the most overlooked drink locations are tucked away inside pavilion shops and courtyards, including Sangria Sips in Morocco, Weinkeller in Germany, and a small counter inside the China pavilion’s attraction exit shop.

Are these considered bars or kiosks?

Most of these locations are small counters or walk-up service spots rather than full bars. They serve beer, wine, sangria, or specialty beverages, but are designed for quick service instead of lounge-style seating.

Why do many guests miss these drink locations?

They sit off the main promenade, often inside merchandise areas or deeper in pavilion courtyards, and may have minimal signage. Guests who stay on primary walking paths typically pass them without noticing.

What drinks can you get at these hidden locations?

Selections vary by pavilion but include Moroccan sangria, German wines, Chinese plum wine and beer, and non-alcoholic beverages like tea or bottled drinks.

Do these hidden spots usually have shorter lines?

Yes. Because they are less visible than promenade-facing drink locations, wait times are often shorter, especially during peak afternoon and evening crowds.

Was there once a hidden drink counter in Japan?

Yes. A small sake counter formerly located at the rear of the Japan pavilion’s merchandise shop served guests for years before being removed and converted into a checkout area.
