This post is part of our Frequently Asked Question Series in the Disney Armed Forces Salute Ticket FAQ section.
The Disney’s Armed Forces Salute offers huge savings on theme park tickets and resort rooms to those Service Members who are eligible to participate.
Absolutely!
It is not the ticket that determines if you are eligible to participate in Disney World’s Extra Magic Hours. Rather it is the resort you are staying at which qualifies you for Extra Magic Hours.
Participation in Extra Magic Hours is a benefit available to those staying in a Walt Disney World Resort, Shades of Green, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and the Downtown Disney Hilton Resort.
Extra Magic Hours, or EMH allow Disney’s on property guests the ability to spend more time in specific parks on specific days, than the general public is able to.
There are two types of Extra Magic Hours: Morning EMH and Nighttime EMH.
Morning EMH allows on property guests to enter the designated theme park one hour earlier that the regular opening time.
This early start to your day gives you a big advantage, as you can get in quite a few attractions during that first hour when the specified EMH park is relatively empty.
Nighttime EMH allows on property guests to stay in the designated theme park two hours later than the regular closing time.
Nighttime EMH can be particularly effective for those who want to ride lots of rides. Off property guests, those who started the day early, and families with little kids will have mostly cleared out, freeing up the standby lines so that you can quickly ride over and over.
One note: the Morning EMH park tends to get a boost in attendance due to the extra draw of EMH. Many recommend that you get as much done from Rope Drop (park opening) to mid-morning and then Park Hop to another theme park which is scheduled to be less busy .
