Starting Thursday 17 February 2022 both Walt Disney World and Disneyland are dropping the requirement for indoor face masks!

Outdoor face masks were dropped late in 2021.
This follows Universal Orlando dropping face masks on 12 February.
Disney just announced minutes ago:
Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings are still required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.“

This is Based on the recent reduction of Omicron cases and the recent CDC revelation the cloth masks do almost nothing to prevent the  spread of viruses.

The last time I hope to post this pic!
But Not on Federal Property
Sadly this does not apply to Shades of Green. All Federal buildings are still under indoor mask mandates.
A Return to Normal for Disney
This brings Disney Parks back very close to normal operations. You will still have to wear a mask on buses, the monorail, and the skyliner… I predicted 4 days ago that Disney would quickly follow Universal.
So fo those of you who have been holding off, it’s time to start planning your Disney Vacation!
You have probably seen elsewhere on the site that I recommend The Mouse Experts powered by The Curated Travel Collection as my preferred Authorized Disney Vacation Planners.

Thank you for your time and effort concerning this question.
Will patrons have to prove they are vaccinated by presenting their vaccination cards before one can choose whether or not they would like to remove their mask?
No they sure won’t Erica.
Just like the last time Disney did away with indoor masks (at WDW), no proof is required. Nor is any required to go maskless on property outdoors right now.
How is Disney verifying
Vaccination status ?
Self identified?
Hi James,
They won’t, just like the last time they did away with indoor masks. Yes exactly, if you act like you’re good, you are.
