Bob McLain the publisher of the Disney Dispatch recently contacted me and asked me if I’d like to contribute to his great site. The Disney Dispatch is a packed full of great Disney content. It’s written by community of Disney insiders and super-fans, there are over 35 different columns. Several of which are published each day.
The columns you’ll find on the site are written by Bob and a collection of other Disney authors, several of the columns are contributed by Disney Company icons. There are columns on every Disney subject you can think of in many categories: news/updates, opinion, history, and even a couple of fictional characters.
When Bob contacted me a month or so ago he asked if I’d write a column from the point of view of a fictional character. This character would be a military man living at or stationed at Shades of Green on Walt Disney World property, this character would explore WDW from the military perspective. I jumped at the chance to try something new and found it fun writing in a way so different from what I do here on my site.
Hughes… Hughes of Green
When creating this character Bob suggested that his last name could be Hughes, and that he stayed at Shades of Green. In a takeoff on the way James Bond introduces himself he could be Hughes of Green, a twist on the name Shades of Green.
I foresee Hughes sneaking through the underbrush at WDW to uncover lots of interesting things, so you’ll have to keep checking back to see what he’s discovered during each installment.
Check Out The Disney Dispatch
Some of the columns Bob runs are published on a regular schedule, mine will be running every other week. I hope that you drop by not only to see my contribution but to check out the other great columns that are posted daily!
And as I post more they’ll be found on the Hughes of Green archive page
