Disney’s Old Key West Resort is the oldest Disney Vacation Club property!
This resort dates back to the beginning of the DVC concept. It opened in 1991 as the first and only Disney Vacation Club Resort.
Old Key West is a very large spread out resort, with many sections being quite a long way from the lobby and main area.

You will find 4 room types at Old Key West.

The kitchenette comes with a microwave, toaster, 12-cup coffee maker, a sink, and a mini-refrigerator. The patio/balcony features 2 chairs and a small table. The Studios are the only Disney Vacation Club studios that feature 2 beds rather than a bed and pull-out couch. Views of Water, Woodlands or Fairways.

Studio
Two Bedroom Villas – $864 – $1618 – Room Size, 1,410 square feet
A Two Bedroom Villa is the same as a One Bedroom, plus an additional bedroom off the living room, which is almost 100% comparable to a Studio. The only exception is that in some of the Two Bedroom Villas there is an additional walk-in closet in place of the studio entrance door and an additional sink in place of the kitchenette. Views of Water, Woodlands or Fairways.

Transportation
Bus transportation is available to all Disney World guest areas. There are 5 bus stops located around the resort.
Boat Transportation Disney Springs with connecting service to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort at Disney Springs.
It is possible to walk to Disney Springs via a circuitous route, but it’s a haul. It’s 1 mile from property edge to property edge, and OKW is a large resort, you might walk a mile within the resort itself.
Overnight Parking – DVC Members will not be charged for standard overnight self-parking when staying at a DVC Deluxe Villa, regardless of whether they use vacation points or another form of payment. Non DVC Members is $25.00 per night at the Disney World Deluxes. Note this charge is initiated for all nights of your stay either by telling the front desk that you have a vehicle when checking in or by using your room key/Magic Band to enter the parking lot. If you will not be parking every night (say you have a rental car for just a dat or so) coordinate this with the front desk.
Valet service is $33 per night (sales tax included). Note: due to ongoing staffing shortages, valet service is only available to those with a valid disability parking permit.
Our Thoughts
Old Key West, like its namesake has a relaxed feel. It feels isolated from the rest of Disney World.
This resort is very large and spread out. The longest walk within the resort is 1 mile (that’s one end of the resort to the other).
Unless you want to spend lots of time chilling at your resort, we might recommend staying elsewhere.
