Fall is in full swing at the Magic Kingdom! Every year starting in August, the Magic Kingdom begins its transformation into autumn with fall colors, pumpkins, and Disney-style scarecrows.
From the moment you enter those turnstiles, before you even walk through the tunnels you will see the pumpkins and leaves lavishly decorating the lamp posts and entry ways.
The lamp posts are all adorned with either Cinderella pumpkin wreaths featuring her iconic carriage or a classic happy Mickey pumpkin.
We’re partial to the classic Mickey pumpkin wreaths. Tell us in the comments which you prefer!
In the little garden at the flagpole there are adorable pumpkin scarecrows. Never fear! These are happy, silly scarecrows that are anything but scary. Scarecrow doesn’t even seem like a good description… Happy Pumpkin Statue? We’ll work on it…
Look a little closer
Do you notice a theme? It’s the people of Main Street, USA!
What is a town without its Mayor? Funny enough, the leader of the pack is the least detailed “scarecrow”.
The Confectionary “scarecrow” features a classic caramel apple and huge lollipop. This one makes us chuckle because of the blonde hair that she was given.
Casey’s Corner’s “scarecrow” is a baseball player mid-catch. There’s no rule that a ball has to be caught with the glove, right?
Main Street Fashion and Appeal has perfect representation with this coiffed and elegant “scarecrow”. Her dress is the highest form of fashion during the turn of the century with its itty bitty cinched waist and parasal.
Even the Main Street Band gets its own “scarecrow”. It seems our little drummer boy has gotten a little too enthusiastic with his job leading to a broken drum.
One of our favorite pumpkin “scarecrows” is the Main Street Bakery’s baker. His arms are holding a huge 50 lb. sack of sugar that is spilling on the ground. It’s super cute and makes us really want a cookie for some reason.
It’s only fitting that Main Street’s largest store, The Emporium, has the BEST pumpkin “scarecrow”! Seriously, this is great! Just look at this happy pumpkin Cast Member in her Emporium uniform holding out a… what is that…?
Oh my gourd! It’s a little toy pumpkin Mickey!
All throughout Main Street, USA is just happy autumn swags, garlands, and pumpkins.
In addition to, shall we say, created pumpkins, there are also real carved pumpkins on the tops of the shops down Main Street.
Look closely! Imagineers never include senseless details. There is always a theme and purpose! They are themed to the shops that they top.
You can live out all of your autumn pumpkin dreams in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Even on your way out, Mickey has left you a “See Ya Real Soon!” in pumpkins!
