Disney has announced the re-start of general public ticket sales starting today. Now there is news for the Military Community on when their tickets will again be available for purchase.
Note: when posted, we had no news, but as the day has gone on we have received realtime updates.
(UPDATED 13:30 est 9 Jul) – Shades of Green just let me know that they have just received authorization to begin selling tickets! See how to get then long distance here.
(UPDATED 12:45 est 9 Jul) – There are reports on facebook that some bases have started selling tickets. From what I’ve discovered, they are doing this on their own initiative. The main office that buys all tickets from Disney and then sells them to individual Ticket Offices is not even open (due to a covid infection) to send tickets to local offices. You may buy them now, but won’t know when you will get them…
Military Base Ticket Offices including Shades of Green have received no notice as to when they will be allowed to re-start military ticket sales.
This is not unexpected based on the total lack of communication and disregard that Disney has shown the U.S. Military Community during their shutdown this year. This is so sad compared to the colaborative relationship that MDT and Disney had years ago.
I have feelers out and as soon as I hear something I will let you know!
In related news Walt Disney World has also re-started the ability to make 2020 Resort Reservations today.
