Military families aren’t just taking more Walt Disney World trips because of the new Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket — many are vacationing in completely different ways.
After posting about Disney surveying Guests who purchased the new Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket, Military Disney Tips readers flooded the comments with stories about how they are using the ticket and how it has changed their Disney travel habits.
And one trend became very clear:
This ticket is changing how military families experience Walt Disney World.
From “One Big Trip” to Multiple Smaller Trips
Traditionally, many military families approached Walt Disney World vacations the same way:
- One major trip per year
- Long park days
- Trying to maximize every ticket day
- Packing as much as possible into each visit
But many readers say the new Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket has completely changed that mindset.
Instead of one large annual vacation, families are now taking multiple shorter trips throughout the year.
Some readers reported originally planning one trip in 2026 and now having four or even five trips scheduled because of the new ticket.
Others described taking quick weekend visits, festival-focused trips to EPCOT, holiday trips, and even short evening visits just to enjoy fireworks or dinner in the parks.
The Ticket Is Creating a More Relaxed Disney Vacation Style
One of the most interesting themes from readers was how this ticket changes the pace of a Disney vacation.
With traditional multi-day tickets, many families feel pressure to maximize every park day because each admission day is limited and valuable.
That often leads to exhausting “rope drop to close” touring days.
But many readers say this new ticket removes that pressure.
Instead of trying to “get their money’s worth” from every park day, families described:
- Shorter park visits
- More resort time
- Relaxed evenings in the parks
- Quick EPCOT festival visits
- Fireworks-only evenings
- Taking midday breaks without guilt
- More spontaneous trips
Several readers specifically mentioned that this was the first time they felt they could experience Walt Disney World in a more relaxed and flexible way.

Many Families Say They Would NOT Buy a Regular Annual Pass
One of the most revealing trends from readers was that many do not view this as a replacement for a traditional Walt Disney World Annual Pass.
In fact, several specifically said they would not purchase a standard Annual Pass at current pricing.
Instead, readers described the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket as something entirely different:
- More flexible than traditional Military Salute tickets
- Much less expensive than a regular Annual Pass
- Perfect for multiple moderate-length trips
- A way to visit more casually throughout the year
Some readers even suggested Disney should eventually create a true military-focused Annual Pass option with added perks such as parking or PhotoPass.
The Biggest Complaint? Missing Annual Pass Perks
While the overwhelming response to the ticket has been positive, one issue came up repeatedly in reader comments:
Many military families wish the ticket included some Annual Pass-style perks.
The most requested additions included:
- Theme park parking
- Merchandise discounts
- Dining discounts
- PhotoPass or Memory Maker benefits
However, even many readers who mentioned missing perks still described the ticket as an incredible value at its current price.
As one reader put it:
“One-third of the price is the perk.”
Disney May Be Learning Something Important
One reason Disney’s recent survey is so interesting is that many of these comments point toward the same conclusion:
This ticket may be creating additional Walt Disney World visits that otherwise would not have happened.
That is important because Disney is not just selling theme park admission.
Additional trips often also mean:
- More resort stays
- More dining spending
- More Lightning Lane purchases
- More merchandise purchases
- More festival spending
- More special event attendance
Several readers openly stated they would not have taken multiple Walt Disney World trips in 2026 without this ticket.
Others said they were considering giving up Walt Disney World vacations entirely before this offer brought them back.
Interestingly, Universal Orlando has already seen success with a similar concept through its Military Freedom Pass, which has encouraged repeat visitation and flexible vacation patterns among military families for several years.
The Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket appears to be creating many of the same behaviors at Walt Disney World, including multiple shorter trips, more spontaneous visits, and increased repeat travel throughout the year.
This May Be the Most Interesting Part
The Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket is not just changing how often some military families visit Walt Disney World.
It may also be changing the entire mindset of the vacation itself.
For many military families, Walt Disney World is no longer feeling like a once-a-year “all or nothing” marathon trip.
Instead, readers are describing something much more flexible:
- A quick weekend getaway
- A holiday festival visit
- A spontaneous fireworks night
- A relaxing EPCOT evening
- A short family recharge trip
And based on the reactions we are seeing from readers, many military families clearly hope Disney continues offering this ticket in the future.
How are YOU using the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket this year?
Are you taking more trips, shorter trips, or vacationing differently than you normally would?

I really wish they would continue this “Pass”. If Universal can do it, so can Disney. Like many others this gives me the opportunity to visit 2 times a year. I live in New Mexico. If air fares would drop (LOL) , I would be able to come even more often. I actually came solo for my birthday because of this “pass”. PLEASE, Disney keep this for us!
Thanks for the feedback Karen!!!
We will go to Disney four times this year instead of 1 seven day trip. I agree, keep this type of access for us!
